That is a very good regimen you have going there sir! Your pond is outstanding! I will make only one suggestion to take the water clarity even better! Once you have done yr 6th day flush, on the 7th day, to yr waterfall filter box, add a sheet of 200 micron filter cloth on the very top of your other filter pads. It will pull out the finest of particles and make your water look like glass! In 6 weeks when you clean your filters with the hose, soak your now brown mucky micron filter cloth in a mild bleach and water solution over night in a bucket. Take it out of the bucket the next day and use you hose to "pressure wash" the now tan coloring cloth, back to white brand new looking clean cloth. Most importantly, rinse in a bucket of fresh water with sodium thiosulfate granules (a dechlorinator) and lay it out in the sun to dry. Place it back into your waterfall filter until the next cleanout. Signed, a marine biologist and professional Aquarist. ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching and your kind words. We will be shutting out pond down real soon here in Michigan but next spring I will definitely do what you suggested. Thanks and live a crazy good day, fletch 🏝️😎

I know a far simpler way, fill a big hole full of gravel, more the better, attach a pump from the pond to the bottom of the gravel so it flows out back into pond through the gravel, hey presto.. good bacteria at work. My water is crystal clear and all I did was fill a water butt full of stones and pebbles and pumped water through. magic.
@toddquinn2 it's really interesting that many waterfalls suppliers still struggle with solving the problem of algae which is a common problem, ponds shall have at least 40% shaded area and less sun exposure
@@josemarte936 but algae feeds of nutrients, if you deny them the nutrients and have plants compete for those nutrients and steal them all the way, it will struggle to grow.

Hello, thanks for watching and the kind commets on our Koi & pond. Sorry I can't help you out with your fish eating the lily leaves. It stays very clear all along but I will do the treatment about every 6 weeks or so just because it's easy to do and I want to stay ahead of the game. If very hot humid weather/thunderstorms coming in which will create algae blooms I'll put in algaefix ahead of them as a preventive measure. Thanks for watching and live a crazy good day, fletch 😎🌴

Beneficial bacteria is the key. Make a wetland/bog 15% of your the surface of your pond. Add riverrock and pebble and never use chemicals again. Your base is good. With the rock and gravel just lacking surface area in your filter. Thats what the bioballs are for.
