Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all could live in peace and harmony? Love this song❤
Yep can't say it wouldn't be nice, but its never gona happen as long as humans exist.
Each person is given a choice to love or hate. Eventually the choice giver will make things right.
It would be. Starts with me. I’m getting older and realizing all I can control is my inner environment. If I can make that shine and help other struggling humans do the same, then little by little that peace and harmony can be reality. Am I right? ♥️🔥🤙🏾
@@andrewcanady6644 yes you are 100% correct
@@Hxbile Thanks. Still struggling for that inner equilibrium here, like everyone. But with a good couple mantras and some breathing and a focused meditative mind it’s easier. Something tells me your tracking. Aloha. 🤙🏾
Creed was fire when they came out. Wish they would return to those magical days
Nah, they leveled when they became Alter Bridge.
They are out again!
Scott (lead singer) was a Christian singer before Creed .....you can tell it when you listen to the lyrics.....His voice is AMAZING
Yep...................... let's get back to God.....................
But his band mates didn't really wanna be perceived as a Christian rock band because thats not what they wanted to do when they became musicians and Scott even said himself creed wasn't a Christian band but the messages he put in his songs people took it as they was so they kinda just rode with it
He was not a Christian singer. His step father was a religious nutball and he was abused from him so sott would write to escape that's were his messages come from
The band itself has reportedly said over and over again that they are not a Christian band....
@@erikhutt964 bro he has a cross tattoo and literally a tattoo of Jesus on his arm. I think he said certain things in the media so the band wouldn't be labeled as a Christian band for the sake of his band mates.
To me the message is the best. A lot of Creeds music (lyrics) has an awesome message. Stay safe and be blessed you 2.
Heaven! let's go there! where blind men see! love this song! people don't like bands that preach about our savior. I do! Amen..🙏🙏🙏
Technically he never identified the place as heaven. If it was then how could he know what it is so well, that he went there every night? Wouldn't that almost imply prophet status? Also, he may have been a Christian man in a rock band, but I think calling them a Christian rock band goes to far. That would imply Christian values, and I don't know many people remember this video, but pants that tight are rarely associated with Christian heaven
Agreed. It's about Heaven. ❤️
@@kellymccombs3496 think 🤔 about how Styper dressed, and tell me that their not Christian.
@@lorettasearcy1471 ouch that goes back, but I concede the point
@@kellymccombs3496 I wasn't trying to be mean. Just trying to get my point across, that that's not what God looks at. It's what's in your heart ❤ 💙 💜 that matters to him.
People like the two of you willing to listen to this song in front of the world takes us all higher.. when you say you agree with making this world better, you participate in paving the streets with gold..
❤😃
The other song I like from Creed, is, "Arms Wide Open!" His videos are great too! Kinda like religious and spiritual.
Don't stop dancing was another good one.
Underrated band!! They do relate much of their music to understanding spirituality and your faith in God and the world!! Keep listening to their music! Sooo many great rockin songs!!
Creed didn’t start out as a Christian band but because of some of their song lyrics many people called them a Christian Rock band. The lead singer, Scott Stapp, was the son of a preacher so maybe that’s where people were confused. They had some beautiful songs and his faith and beliefs were apparent in some of his lyrics but I never thought of them as a Christian band. Just a band with some really good songs that mostly had positive messages ❤
Scott Stapp is a spiritual person, and I think you get what he's singing about when you understand that. A lot of Creed's best songs are about his faith.
Creed..!! Powerful. Scott Stapp had such a killer voice and Mark Tremonti on guitar..!! Awesome
In the September 2000 edition of Spin magazine, Scott Stapp explained that this is is not about Christ's ascension to heaven or taking a big bong hit, but is about the power of lucid-dreaming. "You're physically asleep, but you're awake in your mind," he explained.
I wouldn't call them a gospel band, but they do have spiritual songs. And Asia is right, they are talking about Heaven.
Very Christian, He did aj article back in the day and it was absolutely beautiful. Love this Group
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the lead singer's dad was a pastor. He was inspired by Metallica, although his songs don't sound like Metallica
exactly why the band disbanded they dont wanna be labeled as a christian band but the lead singer is going that path, other members wants to be a rock and roll band
@@CMCutNo. He had to go because he got into some serious drug and mental health issues. But he is back. ✌️
@@vaportrails7943 Dude it came out of the Bands mouth not mine i just commented it
Creed is an awesome band. Great musicians, great frontman Scott stapp strong vocals writes some awesome lyrics. Yes he's referring to heaven. They're not a Christian band but Scotts Christian and spiritual. At the time some started labeling them as Christian the rest of the band asked Scott hey what are you writing about?. The heat Creed got came mostly from fans of other bands of the time who weren't commercially successful as Creed...No different from happens today. They're back in tour this year and they were awesome. I highly recommend seeing them live well worth it.
He's talking about heaven, common theme in Creed music. Singer was a Preachers son.
You will love “ Lullaby” by them. Scott Stapp ( lead singer) wrote it for his child.
Creed has been inspirational throughout my life.✌🏻❤️
That rhythm guitar leading into the chorus is sweet...
Scott is talking about heaven and realizing life as planned for us by our God.
Great time for music with these bands
Gotta do " what if " and " one last breath " by Creed! 🔥
You guys rock !🤘🤘🤘
"Don't stop dancing is another awesome song. Very Christian artist. Was very top 5 back in the 90's
Thank you guys for this song which I believe is spiritual as well as many of their songs! Brings back memories of my son learning guitar and into Creed! ❤❤
One of my all time favorite songs and Bands!!! I got to see them in concert at the height of their popularity and they were FANTASTIC live!! ❤🧡❤🧡❤🧡
Its not a dream, there is a place and that is what he is singing about, it takes "dreaming" to see it.
Definitely one of Creed’s best songs. They had quite a few good ones. I saw them in concert, even though I was deaf for 2 days afterward I still enjoyed the concert!
Creed is awesome!
Scott Stapp has an amazing voice and this song is a masterpiece imho ❤
man I still have this album from when it first came out watched the video all the time on MTV lol
I still regret getting rid of my CD collection. Had this album and so many more. I miss that feeling of having a physical copy.
Scott was “The son of a preacher man” sometimes you find the lyrics you need at the right times. This was it for me in the 90’s.
Because of Creed i learned to play guitar. This is my alltime fav song.
I still get grief over enjoying Creed, but they were my introduction to rock after growing up with country music 😂
Btw this is arguably their biggest single, so that’s why it sounds familiar cuz it got heavy rotation on all eligible radio stations and was all over TV during that time.
Creed's first album was "spiritual," less gospel. Stapp (singer) was the stepson of a Pentecostal minister. So this influenced the writing.
Talk about bringing back memories. I used to play this song in a band as the drummer. A really fun song to play. Great groove! This band did take some grief because people claimed it was a `veiled Christian Rock` band, but not really. The lead vocalist was a Christian from a very strict Christian upbringing. He actually escaped that, but he's still a Christian and of course his beliefs are going to influence his lyrics. Not the same thing as a `Christian Rock` band like Stryper or Skillet.
SOUNDS SO POWERFUL!! BIG SOUND!!
If you like Creed, I can also recommend Alter Bridge because 3 of Creed play with plus Myles Kennedy as singer/guitarist
Scott Stapp has a great voice and excellent choice of lyrics.
My Sacrifice is another goodie by Scott.
Arms Wide Open is another one of his besties.
Took my kids to see them play in Salt Lake City, at the Olympics Awards Ceremony. It was the middle of the winter, these guys on stage rocking out, my kids fell asleep inside their parkas on the cement lol. Kept waking them up to tell them they were missing a helluva show. The lead singer was raised Christian, so you get a lot of his spiritual beliefs in the lyrics, but he also spoke of the hypocrisy and rejected the organized version of Christianity. Interesting indeed, and great music!
Love love love Creed!
This is a great song from a great band. You really should watch the official video instead of just the lyrics. You'll be hooked and we'll see a lot more Creed coming on your channel. I suggest Arms Wide Open, One Last Breath, Don't Stop Dancing and My Own Prison.
They weren’t a gospel band but Scott was a Christian and didn’t mind people knowing it!
Creed had spiritual meaning in their songs “GOOD THING THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT DOING A REUNION TOUR “ ✌🏼
He's definitely talking about his dreams of heaven. The Bible literally says that there's a street of gold in heaven. We all know that Jesus healed several people who were blind by restoring their sight while he was here walking the earth. I love this song
I love her reaction at the end when she said, “Who doesn’t like Creed?” 😂
I’d honestly put this in the top 50 songs ever written.
Such a damn good song and group! Never appreciated but, they deserve all the love. Love the powerful expression of love in humanity. I heard that the lead singer's dad was a minister but, can't confirm it is factual.
His stepfather was a Christian and a strict disciplinarian but he was a dentist if memory serves correct. He did adopt Scott and Scott has his last name, but he's his stepfather.
My daughter-in-love passed away in August. My son had this played at her funeral. It was their special song. I thought I could listen, but not quite yet. You guys are great!
Keep up the Hope!
If I remember correctly.. most of these songs from creed were poems written by the singer who was raised in a religious house.. not meant for songs .. they adapted them into songs
I always knew them as a Christian Rock band. I've always loved Creed growing up. People hate on them, but they're seriously talented!! If you haven't listened to anything off their first album, you should check out "My Own Prison", "What's this Life For", or "One" (one of my all time favorite Creed songs
Creed got back together and putting on a tour this year & let me tell you a lot of black folks also show up having worked security and it is all love at their shows. Yes it is like a Church experience Gospel or Christian Rock & these were the easier security details I ever did. I probably worked security at over 100 shows in various roles. You will make new friends especially if you say it is your first show they will say welcome to the Creed family.
maybe its just me but it looks like you got caught up in the moment at the end, Asia, and maybe even choked up a bit to stifle a tear... it's a great song with a great message!
Creed "ARMS WIDE OPEN" original video is soo good!!! ❤️
Whatever you do in life, make it a goal to lift someone up physically, spiritually, mentally, and/or emotionally when you get the opportunity. You would be surprised how little effort it takes and how large the returns are.
I rocked out to Creed as a child before I realized they were a Christian band. Let me tell you, my friend…you don’t have to believe in anything to rock out to Creed. I’ve been a nihilist since I was a teen and I still find this band a tree branch of hope. Never mind God, of which I don’t believe …any perspective will do 🖤
The lead singer has a lot of spiritual influence in his lyrics, but they have flat out said they aren't a Christian band (nor were they ever). Because of the spiritual/Christian references in the lyrics, a lot of the critics jumped on that as a reason to hate them.
Christian rock... there were several good christian rock bands around this time. My wife loved the sound, the singer, and their lyrics... even tho we are not heavily religious...
People mock this band relentlessly for no reason other than they think it makes them fit in with the online trolls. There's a reason Creed was the biggest rock band in the world for a while.
Those people are clueless. Creed is insanely good.
Off the bat I’m gonna say this one that came out when I was in middle school I think? Loved the vibe and the lyrics altogether! I heard this and then their first album after which had a harder sound but so good. They had some good songs throughout their run! If y’all could one day review “One” that would be awesome. It’s not my fav from their first album but it has a great message that I think is timeless on end. 🙌❤️
You should listen to their songs, My Own Prison, What If, and Weathered. 🤘
Love ❤️ Creed! Waiting for them to get together again with a tour a new album! I will always be a fan of them! Seeing them live back in the day was incredible! Lead singer Scott wrote this song 🎶 based on a dream, dreaming of what heaven would be like here on earth in his dream and keeping it that way, wanted in that dream because heaven was everything he thought it would be to stay in that dream. I recommend Arms Wide Open that song was written shortly after Scott found out he’d be a father for the first time and written during a sound check, lead guitarist Mark was just messing around with what he was playing and Scott heard it and asked him to keep playing that and that is how it came about! Scott was struggling with his place with his religions beliefs and abandoned by his father at a very young age and his Mom remarried and he struggled as to where it fit in his life only because he left a abusive home from a strict stepfather and strict upbringing who beat him and sometimes was beaten in the name of his stepfather’s strict beliefs along with his siblings so he left home then he got with Mark in College forming Creed as young men along with the other two members. Fame is something no one is truly ready for and Scott fell into depression and drinking and drugs and it broke them up eventually and they got back together for a time. Today all original members are good with each other and Scott is going on 7 years sobriety and is doing great today! There has been talk for awhile about getting Creed back together and I believe it will happen it’s just when! Definitely need to do more Creed! Another song I really love is What’s This Life For, about a friend who committed suicide. Weathered, One Last Breath and One! These are some of my favorites!
That's rock and roll and I ain't religious but he can definitely preach 🙃😉❤️
The song was insanely popular in strip clubs back in the 90s. The show usually involved a girl, a pole, and a blanket. Terrific tune!
His description of heaven! Let’s all go there…heaven on earth! Rejoice!
After watching that poor soul get beaten and tortured to death in Memphis, this world desperately NEEDS to be taken higher. I needed to hear this song to lift my heavy spirit. God Bless You Two!!
@Asia an BJ- One of my fav songs. Love Higher and the lead singer was Scott Stapp. He has a different band now though.
Creed is one of those bands that got trashed on in highschool but everyone secretly listened to them cause theyre lit.
Oh Creed had a heavier sound when they started, but I could be wrong cuz the earliest stuff I heard was “My Own Prison” which is where the song “One” is from. Two of my other favs from that album is “Torn” and “My Own Prison” and I swear they’re all so good. They also have one that later than all these songs called “One Last Breath” that even my cousins that didn’t start out with rock music loved from the get lmao
Scott stapp the vocalist was raised as a Christian, I guess his father was very hard core about it there for a lot of his lyrics reflect that. They were a great band and dominated FM rock radio for quite a while..... We even played a couple of their songs in the church I used to go to when I was playing in the Christian band.
You can tell scott the lead singer of the band puts alot his pain into his music from the writing and the way he sings because hes a guy through out the years has had alot of bad mental health issues but the music hes put into the world expresses that and the music has spoken to alot of people over the years
Scott Stapp had some mental health issues but is back on the road to recovery. Mark Tremonti the guitarist started Alterbridge and then his own band Tremonti and he rocks. Because there were Christian themes many people didn’t like them but Creed was amazing!
Everybody made fun of them but a song like higher is what this broken world needs right now its uplifting and positive
There a Christian rock band. He's singing about heaven with the golden streets. His dad was a preacher. All there songs was bangers
I have often wondered if the song was literally about drugs ❤❤❤ his voice is quite gritty and deep. His vocal talent is just so unique. I didn't know he was a Christian Rock musician. Never heard him except with Creed.
Love Creed.....Love the reaction. :)
Great song! They were on top of the charts in the 90’s I had all their music and they did a great job. But the Christian community heard about him saying the lords name in vain in another song and they stopped listening and the band eventually broke up. Would love to see a reunion from them and play the songs I grew up with. Great reaction!
There's a big difference between hearing a song and listening to a song. There are a lot of people who have heard songs 100 times who have never listened. I'm not knocking it, but a lot of people use music as a background effect. Others bury it deep it their soul.
Make me wanna put them headphones on & reminisce 🎧🎶🎶 Creed 🔥🔥🔥🔥
He's singing about Heaven 🙌❤️
Also Arms wide open is 🔥
Asia nailed it...HEAVEN
Lots of people hated on Creed when they first hit the scene. They were accused of ripping off Pearl Jam and people shit on the religious undertones of their lyrics. I always loved Creed. My own prison is a great song along with Arms Wide Open.
Seen this coming up hit liked before I even seen the reaction Creed & Asia & BJ Yeah 🤘
Love Creed!
Yes. Heaven.
Their first album is fire 🤘
Nice reactions. I like how you guys were nodding your heads, too. 😭😂👍🏼
I love Creed
I have always loved the heavy bass in this song!!!
Great song but its a 5:37 on this vid that always gets me; sounds like an angels cry. Eh, maybe its just me🤘❤️
One last breath by Creed is amazing, highly recommend a listen!
This was my favorite band in high school
If you think you've heard it but sure you haven't it might be because Scott Stapps voice is very similar to Eddie Vedders (Pearl Jam).
Bands like Creed & Nickelback got to be so popular that of course many "haters" just grew sick of it.
Too bad really & so sad that it's true what they say. "Misery loves company."
Not even close
When I pass on I'm going to be walking golden streets with my dad and grandpa and I won't need sign language anymore. God is great.
Creed get a lot of hate for his voice and the cheesy lyrics, but Mark Tremonti's guitar work was phenomenal. He combined rhythm and lead parts in a way that wasn't too hard yet very fun to play.
When he talks about where the blind man sees & streets of gold. He's talkin about heaven.
Lewd singer daddy was a pastor ! There is a meaning in this song !
Love this song! I miss Creed.
I'm most familiar with "Arms Wide Open ". Very nice. I really like his voice
Great song. Congratulations on 245k...!!!
Thank you!!!

Singer Scott Stapp was adopted by his stepfather who was a Christian and strict disciplinarian. He was a dentist, not a pastor. Creed is not a Christian band. Scott Stapp is a Christian and a lot of his lyrics were about his beliefs, his struggles and his faith.
