@VinnyUnion volume doesn't really have as much to do with the hardware like this as your audio source. If you want to be able to control volume as fully as possible and get louder than your ears can handle I'd recommend getting a good amp/dac combo. Might make your iems sound better too.

Great video. I now tested the t3+ and the ikko oh10 obsidian and I got to say that I kinda would rank them the same. The Ikko has more base impact but the t3+ is a bit more balanced but v shaped too. to be honest the oh10 lacks a little bit to much body for me. Maybe i am just to used to my dt 1990 but rock and metal doesnt sound that good on the ikko to me. Still oth good IEM, I guess the timeless is a bether fit for me :)
Got them today and am loving the way they sound! Thanks for the videos on these that made me make up my mind to upgrade from my recent first IEM which was Moondrop Aria. Gonna stick with these for sometime till am ready to jump to something like Xenns Up. :) I tried Spinfit CP100 (itchy in my ears!) and eventually went back to default black ones.
Well, though they don’t have a full review dedicated to themselves, I do share demos of them in the Blessing 2 Dusk video. You can check out how good they sound there :)
yup, I'm totally on the same boat as you are bro, for the unique name. Peoples needed to acknowledge IEM by their unique names, only use model number if & only if the name are similar as I think most decent IEM doesn't have similar name 🤓👍🏻
Have you done a review comparing this to the OH10S? Reviewers I've read seem to think this has better bass. But, it can no longer be bought on Amazon, at lwast as far as I can see.
YES, the OH10 is amazing! I tried comparing auditioning it with Thieaudio Legacy 4 in store and I looked at the guy in the store and like "Can you please bag the IKKO, I heard enough you can put the L4 away, thank you." it might just be a really subjective matter but I don't find the treble to be too shrill, and I also listen to EDM and rock.
Totally subjective indeed. I could see how people could enjoy these on practically anything, including that rock I preferred other gear on. So personal.
@@nuthinbutnikk17 I don’t mod much these days, personally. If someone wants to mod though, and it takes out the high end, it may be a good way to go. Often what happens though when people try to reduce a hot spot, is that the hot spot actually helps give some unique and fun traits to the gear. So I would wonder if some tracks would lose some of their good qualities with the treble reduction. I think classical and jazz actually seem to benefit from it. Not really sure if anything here. But ya, I don’t mod these days. All the power though to people who do!
Thank you! And yes. I feel like being unmonetized is a better approach, at least early on. Heck, if my patreon support grows well enough, I won’t ever use monetizeable music.
Hi Dan! Love your videos, keep them coming! Can you compare the Obsidian (see what I did there) with Hana 2021 / Oxygen and the Mele in your full review? Thank you!
Does a strong impact bass with fairly thick and deep bass quantity can be called a basshead IEM? My perception is that a called basshead IEM if there is more dominant bass emphasize than the mids and treble, a fairly boomy bass, recessed vocals, and boosted the treble extension. I think the T3+ not in the basshead category. It still v shape balance categories, I was checked on some squiglinks and another reviews. But everyone have a different perception and taste.
Fair way of describing the term. I guess, to me, these have a lot of bass psychoacoustically compared to the rest of the response. Even though the graph may show other areas being lifted (though I haven’t looked yet, just going by your description here), the bass is so audibly strong that I can’t describe them another way but having string bass. Maybe one could say bass head. Whatever people use the term for, these have a unique and sultry base :p
Hi Dan! Love the videos - keep it up :) Just wondering if you're going to check out the FiiO Eclipse coming out. If so, can you please compare them to these? I noticed that they seem to measure pretty similarly, so I wonder how they stack up
Hi Dan! Could you please suggest an iem around 200 dollars for listening to Beethoven Symphonies and classical orchestral music in general. I really like your channel by the way. Thanks!!
@@dansaudioreviews I just tried it today in a headphone store. the OH10 is way better for my personal taste. I compare my own Dunu SA6 (which I know you like it too), to the OH10, to the OH1S, to the See Yume, to the BGVP DM8, and even to the QDC Anole(Which worth around 3000USD). The Dunu SA6 still my favorite out of all the earphones I've tried so far, and the OH10 is a pretty close second. The snare, and the brightness of the kick drum, is disappeared with the See Yume, same with the BGVP DM8. I don't consider that flat or even sounding, everything just sound very "covered up". And the OH1S is too bright and lack the low punch of the OH10. And for the 3000$ QDC Anole, man, that thing sounds grand and wide and open, but I really don't like the top end on the Anole. Some may say that's "detail", but for me it's very fatiguing. If I'm check a mix of a song with my mixing engineer with the Anole, I would ask him to roll off the top end of the Hi-Hat and the cymbals. But with the SA6, everything sounds more "accurate". Like if I take off the SA6 and listen back with my studio monitor, they sound much more similar. I think the Dunu SA6 deserve much more popularities, I use it on everything now, tracking, live performance, checking my mix, it handles everything so well, that it makes my old UE custom sound like junk. I think I'm too off topic here LOL!! Sorry!! OH10 and See Yume, get the OH10!! And QDC Anole and Dunu SA6? Get the SA6 and the Unique Melody MEST mkii, and you will still have couple hundred dollars left.
Accurate and neutral, and the Blessing 2 is probably it. Musical…maybe not. At least, not for me. The obsidian sounds pretty musical, but definitely not neutral. The best thing I could suggest might be the Tinhifi T3+ for a balance between sounding accurate and sounding fun and engaging. Or, going up in price, the DUNU SA6. That’s perhaps my most favorite balanced or neutral sounding earphone, while still being engaging and enjoyable. Or, for actual utter neutrality, the etymotic brand pretty much strives to be the pinnacle of neutrality.
Hi, I don't know if you'll end up reading this comment but it would be nice to get review on the durability of iem and also on good cable vs bad one, etc.
I see this comment 👀 For cable reviews, or other accessory talk, I want to make more videos about the side topics. It just won’t happen any time soon. My focus is just not there right now.
@@dansaudioreviews maybe not full review (who want to spend tons of time on this ?) but more a focus when for exemple you say "the cable is not really good",etc. I was like "ok....but why ?" since I had no explanations but a statement and no obvious flaws to judge about it. : )
Bought them last week. Sounded great but were painful to wear. They appeared to be larger than other iem's. Tried to like them but couldnt handle it. Still looking. Love your reviews.
Looking to pick up an Obsidian (not OH10😁) and saw that they were going for $150 on Drop, which seems like a great deal! I'm not sure how affiliations work, but wish I had a link with you that I can click through!
Have tried it 2 times, and literally thinking about getting it for the 3rd time now😂 But I am torn up between it and between the Mangird tea. Thoughts? I loved everything about the Ikko, but I feel like I need an upgrade, something for rock and modern mixes, indie pop.
If you tried it twice already, I would probably suggest trying something new. I’ve felt mixed about things too, like the UP. Even though I could appreciate its merits, I couldn’t bring myself to put them on as my daily driver when I wasn’t personally getting what I wanted out of them with the male vocals. If you tried the Obsidian twice already, I imagine you’re feeling unsure about how they feel for you in actual daily use. The Tea is a pretty big departure in tuning, being a brighter set. I think that is a great idea if you’re looking to try something new. It’ll give you something far removed from the Obsidian’s tastes to try. If you’re going for something big and full sounding though, like the Obsidian, then I would easily and strongly recommend the Timeless. Exceptional detail and heft.
@@dansaudioreviews I actually lost it for those 2 times lol. But yea, I think it's time for a change. What do you think would be better for rock, and the Trap- remixes kind of music? Like things that you listen to at the gym, walking etc? Mangird tea, or the timeless?
@@XhMOod12345 very personal preference there. I can see both satisfying people with those genres but for different reasons. Personally, I would say the Timeless. With the great resolution and hefty bass, it satisfies for intense music well. Stuff that has strong bass does very well there.
@@dansaudioreviews i just watched your video with the B2D vs MEST vs IKKO vs ARIA Man, that video was freaking amazing! Especially with including the demos! completely killed away any urge in me to get the B2D, as I like some fun in my IEM. But you need to make one with the Mangird tea and timeless ASAP! I can't think of any better way to compare earphones than you did!
So are you not recommending this for techno, electronica, melodic techno, house, progressive house? Which would be the best for those genres? Dealing with atmospherics, deep bass and synthezisers? Fyi i currently own tin t2 t2plus, blon 01, kz zx10pro, but looking to step up my game. My amp is the fiio btr3k. Thanks!
Oh gosh…good question. I think I would actually recommend the Obsidian just fine for electronic. They have a good thump to them and play the textures of the synthetic sounds quite well. Depending on the electronic music you have though, the forwardness of the Obsidian (OH10) could be too bombastic for you. But generally I think they play most electronic with a lot of excitement without much fatigue. But again, it depends on your library. It’s also so great for so many other genres anyway that you would enjoy it regardless.
@@dansaudioreviews thank you for your answer! Ok so maybe I should go for this? Unless you think the Dunu you like would be a better fit? Great channel by the way you got a new Subscriber 🙂
@@paulallen9518 Well Dunu's SA6 is just so buttery smooth and clean to listen to for every single track in my library. It's top of class for what it does well. It's just different though than the Obsidian's thumpy and punchy presentation. I could own both and be so so pleased. If I had to guess, and I really don't want to steer you wrong for your tastes here, but I would speculate that the Obsidian is better for most people who prefer electronic music - the reason being that the Obsidian delivers impact that electronic tracks often try to engage the listener with. The SA6 isn't really trying to be so impactful. Then again, the SA6 is so pleasing and easy to listen to, that it's a terrific choice anyway too.
@@dansaudioreviews thank you for the input! Just for context this is a typical song; ua-cam.com/video/0BH4bRRyihI/v-deo.html in my library, a lot in that "essence"..I am a DJ so I need IEMs comfortable there. I will think about these two options. 🙂 Many thanks you rock man keep doing these quality videos.
@@paulallen9518 Pretty nicely mastered track! Love how crisp everything is. That dynamic between the high hat sound and the thumps is great. I would say that the Obsidian will sound very very fun here, while the SA6 would be easier on the ears for long listening sessions. In terms of what that means if you were to DJ with these IEM's in your ears while performing... not sure. I'd probably guess to seek a pair that matches the speaker system as best as possible. But, I'm not a DJ, nor do I know your exact objectives and situation with owning these IEM's with respect to your work. If I had to guess, since speakers at concerts and so on like to ensure the bass is dialed up, I would think that the Obsidian might be a closer match to what your audience may get. But idk 🤷🏻♂️
After many months of research, It looks like if i finaly founded the iem i need to listen the kind of musicale i like (classical ans jazz) thanks to you !!! But, do you have another good iem for classical, jazz, acoustic instruments ans vocals under 1000$ ?
Oh absolutely. I love the ThieAudio Clairvoyanace or the DUNU SA6 for well under $1000. They are extremely smooth and listenable for classical. I remember taking drives with the Clairvoyance in my ears, classical playing, and just loving every minute of the pleasing drive.
There are different types of electronic music.. and accordingto your description.. these are not that good for house/EDM tracks... but they would sound awesomewith some Techno/trance/some Traps/Future house/Bass house.. hmm my type of music... im gonma buy one
Are you telepathic, man? These were one of my top considerations a few weeks back before I bought my Hana 2021!!! I would still prefer the Timeless. Though these play some music more enjoyable, the Timeless plays more music to my taste. Electronic, busier metal/rock, maybe vocalists too, for example, are more enjoyable to me with the Timeless. More of my library goes that way. But if you love jazz more than anything, or classical too, then you may want the Obsidian. Maybe. Full review coming!
Goo question. I haven’t actually tried either on films yet. Though I might speculate the Timeless. The Tea doesn’t have a whole lot of bass, and in films bass can be fairly important to feel immersed. I can’t say for sure, unfortunately. I don’t have the tea with me anymore. Plus the Timeless has greater detail retrieval and technicals, it seems to me. But hey, I could be wrong. The Tea could be great and I wouldn’t be able to confirm.
I have recently discovered you and like the commentary , but… It seems you repeatedly refer to playing the upright acoustical bass (more formerly “double bass”) as “plucking the cello” (?)

Still oth good IEM, I guess the timeless is a bether fit for me :)
looking forward to the demo video even though im not really into iems atm
Hey Dan :) my oh10 and T3+ just arrived. They are both awesome. Which tips do you prefer on the obsidians, the darker or the lighter ones?
I preferred the ones that came on my version: grey with red nozzle grips.
how does the sound compared to kato ? im having hard time deciding either buying ikko o̶h̶1̶0̶ i mean obsidian, kato , or shuoer s12
Got them today and am loving the way they sound! Thanks for the videos on these that made me make up my mind to upgrade from my recent first IEM which was Moondrop Aria. Gonna stick with these for sometime till am ready to jump to something like Xenns Up. :)
I tried Spinfit CP100 (itchy in my ears!) and eventually went back to default black ones.
Yea the 100 isn’t as comfortable as the 145. I go for the 145 myself
@@dansaudioreviews So you saying I should go for CP145, better than default; or JVC Spiral Dot?
@@VicharB can’t speak to whether you may prefer spiral dot or 145, but yes I would say 145 over 100 for the ear feel.
Can confirm, these are great!
Waiting on the full review. Also waiting on these in the mail 🤞hope this works out
Well, though they don’t have a full review dedicated to themselves, I do share demos of them in the Blessing 2 Dusk video.
I tried comparing auditioning it with Thieaudio Legacy 4 in store and I looked at the guy in the store and like "Can you please bag the IKKO, I heard enough you can put the L4 away, thank you."
it might just be a really subjective matter but I don't find the treble to be too shrill, and I also listen to EDM and rock.
Totally subjective indeed. I could see how people could enjoy these on practically anything, including that rock I preferred other gear on.
So personal.
@@dansaudioreviews But do you think that you'd do some mod on these pair? Maybe the foam mod to get the top end suppressed
Have you tried listening to Jazz and Classical on the Tripowin MELE ? .......Amazing !
now i'm a bit worried, i was sure these were going to be my next IEM's, but i mostly listen to Synth.
Your taste in music selection is leagues ahead of any other audio channels. Likely unmonetized channel at this stage in your UA-cam career. Smart.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Oh I’m planning on it!
I noticed that they seem to measure pretty similarly, so I wonder how they stack up
I would like to try them, ya. We’ll see what comes next though. So much in the lineup!
help me please should i get these or Sennheiser IE 200 or Kinera Idun Golden 2.0 for everyday listening? :))) thank you so much in advance :))
How does it compare to legato
Hi Dan!
Could you please suggest an iem around 200 dollars for listening to Beethoven Symphonies and classical orchestral music in general. I really like your channel by the way.
Thanks!!
What do you recommend for edm. I was hoping to buy these for edm but now idk.
If you can do a comparison, I wonder how is it compare to the See Yume.
There’s a good chance I could be getting sent the Yume for loan. I hope it gets to me!
Good job right there 👍. Quick one how does this set compare to yanyin Aladdin in terms of sub-bass, mid-bass and soundstage? I'm just about to get one
No idea 🤷🏻♂️ I’ve never tried the Aladdin. Not yet anyway
@@dansaudioreviews Oops! Thanks anyways
Dan (or others) - any opinion on which sound better between the Blessing 2 and the Obsidian? Looking for something neutral, accurate, musical. Thanks.
Or, for actual utter neutrality, the etymotic brand pretty much strives to be the pinnacle of neutrality.
how about the ikko oh1 , do they sound the same or atleast closer?
I already own moondrop Kato..is this still worth buying ?!
Hi, I don't know if you'll end up reading this comment but it would be nice to get review on the durability of iem and also on good cable vs bad one, etc.
I see this comment 👀
For cable reviews, or other accessory talk, I want to make more videos about the side topics.
You should try the oh10 with their double dac wireless band that attached to these units incredible sound
Oh! If you haven’t already bought, I can make a link for Drop (given they have a deal going on). BRB

@@dansaudioreviews Perfect 👍. Thanks and can't wait to hear your thoughts on this against the Olina, as I have that on the way as well. Cheers!
@@pilsberry thank YOU. Those commissions seriously help me buy more gear for the channel. And thank you for your support by watching and commenting 🤘🏻
Have tried it 2 times, and literally thinking about getting it for the 3rd time now😂
But I am torn up between it and between the Mangird tea.
@@dansaudioreviews
I actually lost it for those 2 times lol.
@@dansaudioreviews i just watched your video with the B2D vs MEST vs IKKO vs ARIA
Man, that video was freaking amazing! Especially with including the demos!
completely killed away any urge in me to get the B2D, as I like some fun in my IEM.
But you need to make one with the Mangird tea and timeless ASAP!
I can't think of any better way to compare earphones than you did!
“vo-loo-meh-nous” 😂 👍
😂
I bet snake jazz must sound awesome in these. :D
The sibilance
Ultimately swayed away from it due to my bassy IEMs
BTW which case are you using for your earphones, could you link me to them please? Sure could use one with my collection slowly expanding
I use this one to carry multiple at a time with me.

I do like the cooler names more. OH10 is obsidian, and the OH1 is the meteor if I recall.
EDIT: Also, respect, but I listen to rock on these and just love it.
Haha. All good! Everyone has their personal preferences.

*Shut up mom I only have 11 IEMs, there's room for more*
Lol!
I already decided to buy Timeless and now this??? Uffff what to do?
I would still prefer the Timeless. Though these play some music more enjoyable, the Timeless plays more music to my taste. Electronic, busier metal/rock, maybe vocalists too, for example, are more enjoyable to me with the Timeless. More of my library goes that way.
But if you love jazz more than anything, or classical too, then you may want the Obsidian. Maybe.
Full review coming!
For films, timeless or mangird tea?
Goo question. I haven’t actually tried either on films yet.
Though I might speculate the Timeless. The Tea doesn’t have a whole lot of bass, and in films bass can be fairly important to feel immersed. I can’t say for sure, unfortunately. I don’t have the tea with me anymore.
Plus the Timeless has greater detail retrieval and technicals, it seems to me.
But hey, I could be wrong. The Tea could be great and I wouldn’t be able to confirm.
Just a suggestion, why not put with your rankings charts what genre's you think each iem/headphone is best suited to...
Having a column in my chart for genre recommendations might be a nice idea actually
I have recently discovered you and like the commentary , but… It seems you repeatedly refer to playing the upright acoustical bass (more formerly “double bass”) as “plucking the cello” (?)
ObsidH10n? Mnemonic device for OH10?
🤯Totally makes sense! I still prefer “Obsidian” 😜
How heavy Obsidians are ?
Pretty heavy! But not so much that it feels unwelcome in the ear. They feel very nice.
Just got Crin’s Midnight IEM’s…OMG.
They’re giving the OH10’s a hard run for the top dog in my IEM’s stable..just wow!🍻
Gotta check them out!
obsidian's treble on FR graph looks harsh
I didn’t look but that makes sense with what I hear
I agree, the bass and midrange are wery good.
But the treble is too much and shrill and fatiguing, to bad because otherwise it would be almost unbeatable...
Keep up the exelent work and give us more soundclips, I would like a soundclip of all the stuff you test.
Because l don't have the money to test myself....
Treble is really not too much nor fatiguing.
Did you come up with that conclusion from listening the demos on this video or do you own them?
Then you like the fh3 from fiio. Close tone
Better than timeless? They are same price!
Better for me on my classical and jazz favorites yea. But I still prefer the Timeless overall across multiple genres.

Not as preferable for me on my tracks tested, compared to others I’ve tried, but still not bad overall.
