After i got this i basically stopped buying IEMS. I couldnt inagine anything better than this for my needs at any price. It makes listening to them a tactile experience on top of an auditory one. Very true points about the bass, Cliff. So glad you're enjoying them! I expect you're right about the firmer tips creating a better seal and therefore increasing bass a bit
These guys are so heavy and dense, I have found that that greatly adds to passive noise isolation aswell. They are heavy because the shells are made from solid copper. I've had the OH10 for over a year. They are so good that I rarely bother to listen to my HD600s. The old Sennheisers are a good reference point as they are fairly neutral (if a little rolled off). I agree with Lachlan that the OH10s may not be as boosted in the upper frequencies as the measurements would indicate. Or maybe we are not as sensitive to these frequencies as we age!! Either way, these are not fatiguing but are very engaging and (for my average size lug-holes) are really comfortable. I can, and do, listen until I fall asleep. Btw, Lachlan any chance of getting hold of a set of the new Ikko Asgard (no schiit) OH5 ?? These are getting some good press elsewhere and I'd value your opinion. I will probably splash out the $500 US for a set anyway.
Hi Lachlan, thank you for the awesome content as always. Would you consider 7Hz timeless an upgrade over the OH10? I mainly listen to pop songs with emphasis on vocals and some classic rocks occasionally. since this review is already a year old, I would like to have your opinion on the timeless vs the OH10. I am looking for my first iem purchase after a long time and has narrowed them down to these 2. Many thanks in advance!
I do think the Timeless is slightly better than the OH10 because the treble is better controlled, but they're still in the same ball park IMO so it's a minor upgrade only I think. I'm pretty sure the OH10 was mentioned as a comparison item in my planar IEM video so that might help 🙂
It was a pleasure to listen to your presentation wich only confirm my experiance...course I own them for the last two weeks. The only thing I desagree with You ... is the cable ...This IEMs deserve much better cable. Best regards!
I do agree that these would benefit from a better cable. The stock one isn't bad in terms of stock cables, but it's rare to find a set of IEMs that don't benefit from a cable upgrade.
Great review and thank you so much for telling me about Foy Vance! This guy is really good. The song Casanova has everything I love about music in it! Merry Christmas from America.
It's very personal as to which IEM will be best for someone, but the Moondrop KATO is a great option and the Thieaudio Elixir would be good too for just over $200
Thx. I take it the OH10S is a newer, improved model. It's all I see listed on Amazon fir $219. It uses the MMCX (?) not 2-pin, connection, right? I plan to use them with an Antlion Kamura Duomic plugged into a Ankerwork m650 wireless trabsmitter ( which adds muting and ABC) for content creation. Good idea, or no? Suggestions?
Thanks for the review. Is the treble on these not harsh? I returned them for that reason but maybe I should've tried different eartips. Also I didn't allow any burn in
They do have a significant spike in the treble and that can cause issues for some people and not others. Ear tips can help to alter the affect slightly, but not dramatically in most cases. I'd suggest grabbing the ThieAudio Elixir as an safer and (IMO) even better option
@@PassionforSound thanks a lot for the reply. I got these again and have to say I am enjoying them , not perfect but at their price point I can't complain. Pairing with hidizs S3 pro streaming with Tidal. I wonder if I use Ikko oh10 with hidizs ap80 pro X which you've also reviewed what are you thoughts on that combination ?
Alright, you have my attention... I want to try these! Tuning wise they seem right up my ally, only concern is when walking about I hope they stay put. I usually can get a good seal at first but then as moving a lot of IEMs slowly move out for me :(
Bought the OH10s after seeing your review Lachlan and very happy with them. What sort of upgrade cable would you recommend for a 2.5 or 4.4 balanced solution?
That's great news, Andy. I'm so glad you're enjoying them. I'm a huge fan of pure copper litz cables because they help to bring out the details without altering the sonic character. I'm not sure where to recommend buying them though because it depends a lot on where you are located. The key is to find a good purity of metal (6N or better).
That definitely helps! Reach out to Geoff from Aurealis Audio and tell him what you're after. He makes great cables that are very well priced given the quality of materials used. www.aurealisaudio.com.au/
Awesome detailed reviews! I just bought a Soloist 3X after much searching and your review on that was very helpful. Now I have a new problem as I'm getting complaints of too loud when the kids are asleep and need to think about some closed back headphones or IEM's. Any advice on which way to go first. Just for straight listening pleasure should I head down the rabbit hole of looking for a good set of closed back headphones first or IEM's first?
Glad I could help with the Soloist, Steve. That's an interesting question about the IEM vs headphone choice. IEMs will never quite match the experience of full sized headphones with their greater distance from the ear and the larger drivers, but they do offer more bang for buck. Have you tried either before to have a sense of the presentation each provides? Another consideration is that headphones are often more relaxing to wear because they're not inside your ear canal.
@@PassionforSound thanks for replying! I should have been clearer, I have HD6XX's and using them I'm getting the noise complaints :-) so looking at closed back's or IEM's to fix that problem. I think I'll need to go for bang for buck given I just bought the soloist and a gustard x16 DAC (both are still in the post FYI so pretty exited for the upgrade from my baby schiit stack to arrive). So for times when the kids are asleep I'll try to get by with some IEM's as a starting place. Given I'm used to the quality level of the HD6XX's would these OH10's be even close? Or would I be feeling like I'm listening to sub par using these while looking at my full size cans on their stand?
The OH10s should be comparable enough I think. They have slightly different tonality, but are overall quite warm and easy to listen to while maybe having a bit more treble than the HD6XX. I think they're a good option to not spend too much while seeing if you're happy with IEMs in general.
How would you compare these to the aria/starfield? I'm not really satisfied with my yume at this point so I'm probably going to get this or the arias. Thanks in advance for any insight 😉
I much prefer these to either of the others. I've reviewed both the Aria (vs the CatEar Mia) and the Starfield soaybe check out my reviews of those others to get a good sense. Once you hear my thoughts on all three (and my comparisons if they're relevant to your experience), you should have a better sense of what's right for you
All things being equal, eartip bore/opening size will absolutely have an audible affect on the sound. Larger openings allow a higher volume of air to move and allows the bass to more fully develop before reaching your ear. The wider bore also mellows the treble energy, esp. 6k+. The smaller opening eartips both focus the treble energy closer to your eardrums and also remove the ability for the driver to move as much air, decreasing bass extension and impact.
I agree that eartip bore and opening play a big role, but perhaps the effects are not so predictable because I hear the exact opposite with narrower bore tips reducing treble energy. This might be to do with the interaction between the tip, insertion depth, length and shape of the ear canal. I think the best advice I can give is to try a few tips with varying bore sizes and see which is preferable based on your personal anatomy and preferences.
@@PassionforSound this advice is truly king..YMMV folks and I definitely chimed in too authoritatively when I spoke about the matter the way I did. My apologies!

Those eartips are the best ones ive experienced between 4 types of surefits, dekoni and a few others i cant remember. I use thise for all my IEMS that it fits on now. Ikko does not sell the eartips alone and i pretty much begged them to sell me a pair. Thier support actually sent them to me for free, just paid shipping and sent me 5 pairs not the 2 they promised. Amazing people there
They're not as neutral sounding as the T2+, but they're a better overall listen IMO. The treble on the T2+ is just a little grainy so I appreciate the smoothness of the OH10 treble. The OH10 is significantly bassier though so do take that into account.
Definitely! The Aria are a nice IEM, but I don't ever reach for them. You do need to like more prominent bass with these though - not crazy bass, just full and present

hey Lochlan, would you recommend these over the Arias or something else for more lively and engaging perfomance in faster paced genres? I'm thinking in getting these for metal and similar music, would they do well?
I love the OH10 across the board, but it does depend on exactly what you're looking for. The Arias are definitely more bitey in the treble if you want a greater sense of attack, but you'll lose some warmth and rhythm from the bass.
@@PassionforSound I ended going for the FH3 as they're on a sale on Aliexpress for a bargain; the OH10s are on sale too for $150, but I chose the FiiOs as I figured they would be a nice middle ground between Moondrops silky vocals and the V aggressive sound I wanted! Thanks for the help though, I look foward to you reviewing the FH3s as well!
No doubt that would sound great. Based on my past experience with A&K DAPs, if you get the chance to upgrade your IEMs in the future, there's even more performance to enjoy. Not rushing you to upgrade though - just enjoy! 🙂🙂
Some sort of DAC is, but some devices have them built in so it depends on what you're using as your creation tool (e.g. laptop, phone, mirrorless camera, etc.)
Hi should i get these or Kinera Idun Golden 2.0 for daily listening on the laptop just using the port and using a normal usb-c port let me know which ones do you think sound better thank you :))))
Another iem that's highly recommended under the 200$ range is the fiio fh3. The fh3 and the oh10 were like the two main recommendations for a bassy set when I was searching for one. The oh10 is simply way too overpriced where I'm from and I got the fh3 instead. But I do plan to get the oh10 if they are ever available at a fair price to me. Imports don't work cus we have high import duties too.
@@PassionforSound The FH3 is just stupidly good for US$130. Amazing bass speed and quality, really good mids, but the treble is a bit lacking in comparison to the bass/mids. Even so, for the price they are a go to rec for someone looking for a good sub-$300 IEM.
Excellent video, very well explained and detailed, thank you for sharing your experiences. I was in doubt between the Ikko Oh10 and the Moondrop Kato in the end I ended up buying the Ikko Oh10 for 133 dollars because it was cheaper, was it a good decision?
These are both on black Friday sale and I was going to get the Kato until the OH10 dropped even lower to $139 vs $161 for the Kato. Guess I should compare for myself.
Nicely Done. I've heard good thing about these iem's for almost 2 years now. Surprised you never made a reference to Ikko's newer OH10S (not many great reviews). I looked back at your Hana;s review and realized you never mentioned Tanchjim's 2021 Hana's either :( It's a good reference IMO.
I wasn't actually aware of the OH10S, Bruce - thanks for drawing my attention to them. As for the Hanas - the new model released between when I finished recording/editing/uploading and when the video went live (I produce about 2 weeks in advance)
@@PassionforSound i think he means the oh1s. The ikko models in that lineup are the oh1, oh1s and the oh10. The oh1s is their newest model but was not well liked, and is a huge deviation from the oh1 and the oh10 in terms of tuning.
Yes. I've actually been chatting to my Ikko contact and have the OH1S on the way. It'll be interesting to see if I'm equally as unimpressed as others have been
I've almost bought an OH10 because I've heard it's a basshead set which is suitable for me, but I've read it can be harsh in the upper region and I'm sensitive for that.
Hi Mark, I found no treble issues on my pair and I'm also quite sensitive to harsh / peaky treble. I drove the OH10 mostly from the iBasso DX300, but also from the EarMen Eagle IIRC. Neither are overly warm, but also not overly bright so source could play a part like with any IEMs.
I own the set as well and find the bass to be well extended, textured and dynamic. The treble on my set is only an issue at higher listening levels (for me, that’s between 85-90db) after around an hour. But shy if that at more reasonable volume levels, I think it performs rather satisfactorily in the treble region. There are a couple small peaks but nothing super sibilant or painful to my ears. Even after high listening levels I don’t end up all of a sudden getting wildly uncomfortable, it just becomes a bit fatiguing. Overall there is certainly plenty of presence in the treble and tho not the absolute king of detail in this price range, it still represents an excellent unique value proposition for a fun and engaging set! Espesh at the aforementioned US $159!
So yeah, I bought this one cus I saw a decent used listing on it. The sound is very much in line with my preferences, but the problem is fit. They do not fit that well for me, and tend to come out of my ears even due to small head movements. I heard spinfit cp 100 is a pretty good tip for them. I've yet to try them with a lot of the tips I have with me though.
I'm sorry to hear that. They fit really well for me and I usually have problems with IEMs that are of questionable fit. I'd definitely try the Spinfits as they're likely to provide the best chance of getting it right for you.
Great review! Definitely have to try these out. Think I may appreciate the shallow fit and signature. I’m concerned however that you have an abusive landlord or something? Have you been restricted to < than 40dB talking volume?? Don’t get me wrong I appreciate no go pro and being yelled at for 25 minuteZ. Keep up the great work 👏
Lol. Glad you liked the review! No, not an abusive landlord - just a baby sleeping in the room next door. I've done some testing now and discovered that I can speak louder than I thought without disturbing him so you should hear a slightly more projected voice (although still a touch subdued) in future videos 😁
Really love your analysis. As a beginner I want to understand what is it that really changes from 20 to 40 dollars IEMs to IEMs in the range upto 150 dollars. I want an IEM which is warm and has a good sound-stage, any suggestions are welcome!
That's a great question. Basically, as you spend more you can generally expect improvements in some or all of: resolution of details, soundstage size, image focus, tonal accuracy, refinement (i.e. less roughness in treble, more control in bass, etc.) These Ikko OH10 are wonderful at around the 150 mark that you mention and fit your preferences well.
You can be an enthusiast without spending a whole ton of money. Its just about being smart about it. Just focus on getting something that is different from the last and appreciate the difference, then focus on which characteristic is better for you. The really expensive items are not necessarily better, but they do have characteristics the less expensive items wouldn't. For 150 USD this OH10 is hard to beat for bass warmth and soundstage. For 30 USD think about the Blon BL03 but it lacks the same Sub bass as this. Something more comparable is a Tin T2+ for 60 USD. Thats a funny one because it matchs the sub bass of the OH10, but only if you cover your ears... i think alot of the bass bleeds out of the thinner shell on those. The driver can handle it. If you want headphones for cheap try a Koss Kph30 with what some call the ultra mod
I've compared it to the KATO in my roundup video with KATO, i3 Pro and AD-006 Lyndale. I still liked OH10 slightly more, but they're quite different tunings. I've got the Timeless review coming very soon, but I think maybe it just edges out the OH10.
Could you please review Hidizs S9 Pro if you could get your hands on one? Would be interesting to see how it sounds compared to Earmen Eagle and Sparrow
Superb iem, but make sure you get it from a good retailer with a good warranty. The plastic wrap ( not the film protectors you peal off the first time) around the coated brass goes away with the time :/ This is only an aesthetic problem but mine also suffered from air pressure inside my ear canal. Just sent them to my retailer after 15 months of use and i'm getting new ones. PS: be gentle with these, the cable is not so solid and the iem are so heavy, it can reduce the lifespan of your connector
I have a store that sells Amazon return products and got a brand new set of these for 15 dollars canadain and they sound great not as good as my campfire but still great
I've owned these for a couple of weeks now and they are definitely keepers. I find myself going back to them over my other iem's time after time. In my opinion, you are not going to find another iem under 400 that is significantly better than these. By a small margin I do prefer my Fiio FH7's but it is not by a landslide. The Ikko's are outstanding in my opinion and represent a significant audio bargain that comes recommended without hesitation.
@@morespinach9832 Shuoer Tape Pro, Tin Hifi P1 and P2, Moondrop Starfield and Blessing 2, Shure Se 535 and 425, Fiio FH7 and FA 9. Of all these, the FH7 is the only one to out do the ikko oh10.
I've got a review of planar magnetic IEMs that will answer that one for you if you search for the 7Hz Timeless on my channel. I'm short, the OH10 is great, but the Timeless are even better. The P1 Plus for me isn't as good.
Glad you liked the review. It's generally a good idea to avoid comparing measurements from one place to the next as they might all be using different rigs and different compensation curves. My setup is the miniDSP EARs with the diffuse field compensation applied. It's really only there to illustrate what I'm describing and for comparisons with other measurements I've taken with the same exact setup.
To much treble at high volumes and not enough bass for me, they are a nice IEM though 👍 Just wanted to add i listen to a lot of rock and drum and bass, future garage etc, anyone recommend me some please?
@@PassionforSound I went with the 7hz Timeless, while the bass is not heavy its better controlled than the OH10 due to the Planar and the treble isn't nearly as harsh, a warmer experience without compromise, its all personal preference at the end of the day 🤙
It's not a question of calibration - it's as calibrated as possible. It's just not a pro-grade product and has some issues with seal quality and also some high frequency distortion from the mic that isn't fixed by calibration.
I'm so disappointed in the treble on IKKO OH10.. weird tonality in the treble.. super sibilant.. SsssSSssssSsSs... all tracks with hihats or claps gets tiring extremely fast.. Low-pass filter on 20KHz and the tssssss sound is gone, but lose dynamics and detail. I can't fix it easily with a peaking filter, but seems to be around 3.6-3.7KHz (Q=3, gain= -9dB), then the subbass is also more forward and fuller..
Sorry to hear that. Sadly, we all have slightly different resonances and sensitivies in our hearing so this can alter our perceptions of IEMs sometimes. Have you tried some different tips?
@@PassionforSound Yeah, both custom and smaller sized included. I think I'll try something different.. Its not one I could imagine listening to for longer periods for this reason.
@@PassionforSound Right! That one and S12 were actually on my research, but I was actually sure they'd be more treble forward than OH10. It leaves me quite confused indeed, I thought many preferred warm, subbass extended and midbass slam/thump and relaxed treble.. Maybe that was a long time ago :)
I wouldn't recommend KATO if you like the bass quantity of the OH10. The KATO is lovely, but quite neutral. I've got the Elixir, but haven't tried it yet. Shuoer actually have something else coming soon (not sure if I can talk about it yet) so stay tuned for that one too
@@PassionforSound Okay okay, biased may not be the best way to put it. I just think the opening remarks were you give admiration to the accessories(tips, cables, the case) sound biased. The "case" is something you'd see in the 50 US dollar range. The tips included are some that you see in the $35 range, they don't even supply a foamy set. Same for the cable ($35 range). HOWEVER! The sound quality remarks were spot on. I have these now, today is my first day using them. They're great. I loved the bass and descent soundstage on my $35 Kiwi Cadenzas but these $200 dollar Obsidians have better and "truer" sound to the low-end while keeping the mids and highs bright which the Cadenzas fail at.

@@PassionforSound Thank you so much. I will definitely check it out!
So glad you got hold of these... Been on my shortlist as an upgrade to my blon bl-03s
They're worth it.. No joke. And I waited a year before pulling the trigger on these, and I'm mad I waited so long to get em. They're good
They're awesome and a HUGE upgrade over the already good BL-03
Thanks Lachlan for the detailed review! Interested to give this one a shot. My only IEM above this price range is the Blessing2:Dusk.
No problems, Conrad. Someone else said they have both these and the B2Dusk and they find they're comparably good.
It was a pleasure to listen to your presentation wich only confirm my experiance...course I own them for the last two weeks.
The only thing I desagree with You ... is the cable ...This IEMs deserve much better cable.
Best regards!
The cable is the weak link here. Upgrade to the IKKO CTU01 and you’ll be happier.
I do agree that these would benefit from a better cable. The stock one isn't bad in terms of stock cables, but it's rare to find a set of IEMs that don't benefit from a cable upgrade.
@@DaSixSixOne Thank You kindly on your sugestion

Hope you love them! (Pretty sure you will) 🙂
Great review and thank you so much for telling me about Foy Vance! This guy is really good. The song Casanova has everything I love about music in it! Merry Christmas from America.
Glad you liked the review and even more that you like Foy Vance - he's brilliant! Merry Christmas!
Great review - as usual. Especially liked the FR overlay while talking us through the diagram. 👍
So glad you liked it!
Most of my eartips are long-nozzle ones, which might not be suitable for Ikko OH10. Would you recommend some eartips suitable for the IEM?
I really like JVC Spiral Dots, Spinfits (I can't recall the model number, but it's the one that fits most common brands) or Final Audio E-type tips
Hi!
Can you please suggest an iem under 200 dollars for listening to Beethoven Symphonies and classical orchestral music in general.
Thanks!!
Sounds like a good plan to me. I don't specifically know the M650, but it sounds like it has some nice features.
The AP80 Pro-X would be another great match with the OH10s. Glad you're enjoying them again
Alright, you have my attention... I want to try these!
Tuning wise they seem right up my ally, only concern is when walking about I hope they stay put. I usually can get a good seal at first but then as moving a lot of IEMs slowly move out for me :(
I had no fit issues at all and that's often a challenge for me. I'd definitely recommend giving them a go!
@@PassionforSound I live in Melbourne if that helps a recommendation?
That definitely helps! Reach out to Geoff from Aurealis Audio and tell him what you're after. He makes great cables that are very well priced given the quality of materials used.

Once you hear my thoughts on all three (and my comparisons if they're relevant to your experience), you should have a better sense of what's right for you
Hi😊, did u use the stock tips only? Which one did u prefer the most?
Hi Matus, yes I stuck to the stock tips and found the grey ones to be good for me
nice review!! the OH10 and the BQEYZ SPRING 2 are the best under 200 USD.
Sounds like another one for me to try and track down. Thanks for the tip!
All good. It's very easy to forget how different we all are sometimes because we only get to hear through our own ears 🙂

Amazing people there
Great Review. How do you think it will compare to the tin t2 plus?
They're not as neutral sounding as the T2+, but they're a better overall listen IMO. The treble on the T2+ is just a little grainy so I appreciate the smoothness of the OH10 treble. The OH10 is significantly bassier though so do take that into account.
Hi Lachlan, would you rate these as an upgrade over the Moondrop Aria?
Definitely! The Aria are a nice IEM, but I don't ever reach for them. You do need to like more prominent bass with these though - not crazy bass, just full and present
Looking for an IEM to use with a VR headset, wearing my HD800s are physically just too much. Any suggestions?
There are lots of great options. What characteristics are you looking for in an IEM for VR gaming?
@@PassionforSound
Price to performance
Immersion for vr, imaging, staging, resolution
easy to drive
Price to performance is my priority as these will be used exclusively for VR gaming but im not sure how permanent a fixture VR gaming will be atm. Immersion is the goal, i want to feel like im actually there while playing resi 4 VR on a PSVR2 headset.
Regular flat screen gaming i've been used to the hd800s for years and i'm aware i will not hit those heights with a reasonably priced iem (not using them as im scared they will fall off while playing vr). I will not be using my amp/dac either as an extra cable doesnt seem appropriate in vr; so something easy to drive and plug directly into the headset.
Budget options i've looked at include
TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero
TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZeroRed
dioko
Linsoul SIMGOT EM6L
Linsoul SIMGOT EA500
Truthear HEXA
final A4000
chopin
ikko oh10
fiio fd5
fiio fh5
simgot ew200
aria
aria snow
aria 2
sennheiser ie300
Kiwi ears orchestra lite
kiwi ears quartet
Duni Kima
If it's something i enjoy i could always upgrade at a later date to the variations, blessing 2, ie600 or even higher etc. But right now, semi decent, bang for buck is the priority. I do understand i've listed some more mid range prices and not as budget.....but if its worth the extra cost, maybe i should spend more.
I had a look at Crins iem list and Hexa looked very promising but heard the staging is too small. Perhaps thats a sacrifice i might have to make for a better budget iem? Very conflicted.
Thanks for the reply and the great content, keep up the good work 👍
hey Lochlan, would you recommend these over the Arias or something else for more lively and engaging perfomance in faster paced genres?
Hope you love them! I look forward to trying the FH3s when I get a chance
I feel oh10 is more enjoyable than Timeless. Oh10 has better imaging and I percieve a natural tonality also.
Could you recommend an update over oh10?
The upcoming Thieaudio Elixir is a really nice option for a similar price. If you can spend more, the Sennheiser IE600 is excellent
Got the oh10 paired with Astell&kern sp2000 vegas gold!…..amazing sound.
What do you think?
Did i make a good pair?

No doubt that would sound great. Based on my past experience with A&K DAPs, if you get the chance to upgrade your IEMs in the future, there's even more performance to enjoy. Not rushing you to upgrade though - just enjoy! 🙂🙂

Some sort of DAC is, but some devices have them built in so it depends on what you're using as your creation tool (e.g. laptop, phone, mirrorless camera, etc.)

I'm yet to try the FiiO IEMs. Sounds like maybe it should 🙂
Hope you can get yourself a pair of OH10 to see which you prefer.
@@PassionforSound The FH3 is just stupidly good for US$130. Amazing bass speed and quality, really good mids, but the treble is a bit lacking in comparison to the bass/mids. Even so, for the price they are a go to rec for someone looking for a good sub-$300 IEM.
I'll need to get my hands on a pair
Excellent video, very well explained and detailed, thank you for sharing your experiences. I was in doubt between the Ikko Oh10 and the Moondrop Kato in the end I ended up buying the Ikko Oh10 for 133 dollars because it was cheaper, was it a good decision?
I think it was a great decision. The KATO is also excellent, but I enjoy listening to the OH10 more
@@PassionforSound Thanks for the answer ☺️👍🏽
My pleasure
These are both on black Friday sale and I was going to get the Kato until the OH10 dropped even lower to $139 vs $161 for the Kato. Guess I should compare for myself.

Surprised you never made a reference to Ikko's newer OH10S (not many great reviews).
I looked back at your Hana;s review and realized you never mentioned Tanchjim's 2021 Hana's either :(
It's a good reference IMO.
Also btw, I am definitely sensitive to sibilance as well.
Thanks for adding your experiences to the conversation, Water Sun and Love!
Great vid on a great pair of IEMs, really do like m on the N3 Pro, also my most comfy IEMs
I haven't tried those. I'll have to see what I can arrange...

Lol. Glad you liked the review! No, not an abusive landlord - just a baby sleeping in the room next door. @@PassionforSound With 3 little one’s I know your struggle!! All the best!
Thanks C Dix. You too 🙂
How does the OH10 compare in sound and tone to the Moondrop Variations ?
I haven't tried the variations - sorry
Really love your analysis. As a beginner I want to understand what is it that really changes from 20 to 40 dollars IEMs to IEMs in the range upto 150 dollars. I want an IEM which is warm and has a good sound-stage, any suggestions are welcome!
That's a great question. Basically, as you spend more you can generally expect improvements in some or all of: resolution of details, soundstage size, image focus, tonal accuracy, refinement (i.e. less roughness in treble, more control in bass, etc.)
These Ikko OH10 are wonderful at around the 150 mark that you mention and fit your preferences well.
Great points. There can be enjoyment at every level of this hobby if you're focussed on the music more than the gear 🙂
nice review... I am using oh10....need your thoughts on it vs timeless or kato...regards
I'll see what I can do, Max 🙂
Superb iem, but make sure you get it from a good retailer with a good warranty. The plastic wrap ( not the film protectors you peal off the first time) around the coated brass goes away with the time :/ This is only an aesthetic problem but mine also suffered from air pressure inside my ear canal. Just sent them to my retailer after 15 months of use and i'm getting new ones. PS: be gentle with these, the cable is not so solid and the iem are so heavy, it can reduce the lifespan of your connector
Good to know - thanks Marc!

The oh10 has a well done v shaped signature. Your fs graph looks nothing like any other plot ive seen for the oh10. Regardless, nice review.
@@PassionforSound It's because most graphs that ppl come across are non compensated.
I understood yours is compensated, but many ppl won't get it.
Good point. I find the compensated curves provide (in most cases) a better visualisation of what I am describing.
Um mest mk 2 review please 🙏
It's not too far off. I actually recorded it some time ago, but have had more urgent reviews that bumped it down the queue.
To much treble at high volumes and not enough bass for me, they are a nice IEM though 👍 Just wanted to add i listen to a lot of rock and drum and bass, future garage etc, anyone recommend me some please?
If you're after even more bass, I'm not sure what's out there that will be bassier still.
Perhaps you’re not getting a good seal. I use foam eartips… my ears are slightly different sizes!
@@PassionforSound I went with the 7hz Timeless, while the bass is not heavy its better controlled than the OH10 due to the Planar and the treble isn't nearly as harsh, a warmer experience without compromise, its all personal preference at the end of the day 🤙
Glad you found something you're happy with!
If you don't think you're a mini DSP ears are accurate why not do some calibration.
It's not a question of calibration - it's as calibrated as possible. It's just not a pro-grade product and has some issues with seal quality and also some high frequency distortion from the mic that isn't fixed by calibration.
You are making a difference.
Thank you!
That's completely fair. There are some other brilliant options around the same price like the 7Hz Timeless for example.
@@PassionforSound Right! That one and S12 were actually on my research, but I was actually sure they'd be more treble forward than OH10. Now people tell me Moondrop Kato or Thieaudio Elixir would be my thing, but everyone seems to complain about the bass in particular on Kato (lack of), and I don't get the impression the Thieaudio Elixir is any better from watching reviews on both this morning.
I've got the Elixir, but haven't tried it yet.

insanely biased review
How so?
I compared these with the Truthear Zeros and Hexas as well, both of which I returned in disappointment.
Glad you're enjoying them. This review was recorded before some of the other brands started lifting their game with tips and accessories. If I was recording today, I'd agree with you about the case and tips.
