    I think you hit the nail on the head. The SA6 is pleasing to listen to in a way that nothing else seems to be. It definitely is it's own sound. Going back to what I said about not impressing me at first, I think the SA6 just does that. IT shows YOU what you like about it, if that makes sense. Regardless, your're review is spot on for my personal opinion on the SA6. I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it😃

    It was either the SA6 or the Moondrop variations. I chose the variations for the dynamic driver and it seemed like it would be fitting for my taste. I’m sure the SA6 is amazing but I’m wondering how it competes directly to the variations. I’ve honestly never listened to anything as well tuned and detailed as the variations. It has the bass I was wanting without sacrificing anything else. That said I still wish I had the SA6 in my collection as well.

    • @dansaudioreviews
      @dansaudioreviews  2 роки тому +1

      The Variations sound great! So exciting and detailed.
      I did, however, get some fatigue after awhile of my more intense listening and interesting volume.
      The SA6 is endlessly listenable on the other hand. But…the SA6 aren’t as exciting as the Variations. I can see why some people have both.

    • @zeissiez
      @zeissiez 2 роки тому

      One big difference is in the bass. And this is to me the decider between the two. The Variation has a sub-bass focus, whereas the SA6 has a mid-bass focus, which is rare nowadays. It seems everyone is trying to stay away from the mid-bass, to enable a clear and airy lower mids and mids, I’m glad the SA6 retained this characteristic, as mid-bass is where the rhythm of a bass line lies. Both have great mids, and both none fatiguing for most genres in the treble. But different presentation. More bite on the Variation and smoother on the SA6. My preference overall is the SA6. If the Variation has a more even subbass-mid bass balance, then I would probably choose the variation by a small margin.

    • @jdk_360
      @jdk_360 2 роки тому

      @@dansaudioreviews That further solidifies my decision. I also favor jazz like you do especially as I’m discovering more fantastic jazz music. The variations absolutely kills it. I had some comply foam tips laying around that I used even though I prefer silicone. I found that foams drastically smooth out the treble even though it doesn’t need it in my opinion. If anyone has comply tips you can use a little precise scissor from a cross knife to cut back the foam to the hard insert of the tip if it squishes down too much in the ear and dampens the treble too much.

    • @dansaudioreviews
      @dansaudioreviews  2 роки тому +3

      The Timeless has that heft, that immersive low end coupled with sharp treble in some spots, and great detail retrieval overall.
      The SA6 is not hefty. It doesn’t have treble play. It isn’t as detail retrieving. But it still retrieves enough detail to be very enjoyable, and smooth as heck.
      Whereas the Timeless can be a bit fatiguing on some tracks, the SA6 plays everything with no drawbacks (apart from having less excitement).
      The two IEMs would play music for very different moods. They could both be owned in a collection with little regret (unless, of course, smooth and easy to listen to isn’t what you want).

      @@dansaudioreviews It's easier to see on the side with the "6". Not a big deal. I was just a little giddy seeing my own SA6 on UA-cam! 😆

    Been thinking about this sa6 or variations

      So different. They’re definitely going for alternative approaches to enjoyment. The Variations are exciting and impactful, and doing so worth out as much fatigue as the Kato may at times, but still do fatigue after long listening.
      The SA6, on the other hand, isn’t as exciting. But they are endlessly listenable. Super easy and chill to have on for long listening sessions.
      Tough choice. Depends on what you’re going for.

If the Variation has a more even subbass-mid bass balance, and I take IEM as a hobby, then I would probably choose the variation, as I think it’s more detailed and airy. If I just want to enjoy the music, the smoothness of the SA6 is legendary, I will forget about the gear and just immerse in the music.

    Dunu sa6 is much superior to mangird tea?

    • @dansaudioreviews
      @dansaudioreviews  2 роки тому +2

      Yes! To me they are. The Tea are also very different in what they are trying to achieve though. The Tea are more exciting - they are brighter in tuning. In one sense then, you could say the Tea are better. But…the overall enjoyment I get from the SA6 “smooth” style is greater. That’s me anyway.

    • @zeissiez
      @zeissiez 2 роки тому

      They are tuned very differently. The Tea is more focus on the treble and sub bass. The SA6 is more towards the mids, and more neutral. The Tea has actually better front to back separation. These two are good complements to each other. When I thought of which IEM I should get after having the Tea, the SA6 was the first one which popped up my mind. Buttery (SA6) vs clear (Tea). Both benefit greatly when driven in balanced mode.
