I'm a 64 year old commercial pilot in the retirement. I've always loved this form of aviation and furthermore, when aviation means a superior sense, a mission to achieve something great for others. My compliments to the fellow pilots making a great difference. Kudos to all of you! Greetings from Mexico.
What is crazy is that many of the villagers would have seen a flying machine much before seeing a land machine like car. Thank you for the effort you put in your videos. It's greatly appreciated and enjoyed.
The style of singing and music sounds all so similar the world over of the natives whether in Africa or any where in the world esp in tropical areas Some connection anncestory
If that had been a carrier landing, you would have picked up the first arresting cable with your tailhook. That landing was perfection. On final, I thought we were just a bit high and fast, but you stuck her right on the numbers, perfectly on the verge of stall, with vertical speed right where it should have been. And I love the way managed your rollout with minimal reverse thrust and taking advantage of that last high sloping knoll while you conserved energy from the landing to make sure you were able to get to the very top of the runway and swing around. I know that's a very capable airplane, but you managed all you energies and speeds and approach path and profile perfectly. Well done!
I've done some sketchy landings in heavy ice, thick fog and severe thunderstorms, but never anything remotely like that. I've done countless soft field and short field take offs and landings as well, but never on the side of a hill. As easy as you make it look, I still respect the hell out of the skills needed to pull that off. Great job!
I hiked the Kokoda track 45 years ago and what amazes me is that the village houses are now properly constructed quality dwellings. Before that they were just rough grass and reed huts.
Hi good nigth,,, greetings and have a good time,,, Amazing place,,, beautyful mountains,,, Great hability to take land,,, Thanks to the people who made posible this video,,, your friend Oscar de Playa del Carmen Q R México,,,
Thank you Sir. You are a most impressive pilot. This video is one of the best I ever seen. Surely a very good aircraft, but a amazing pilot. Respect from France.
Outstanding flying. Inspired me. I went in to MS Flight Sim and hopped in the Pilatus PC-6 Porter and flew out of Moanemani to another grass strip 26 nm away. What an incredibly beautiful country! Flying along the river valley in the early morning with the sun just peaking over the hills occasionally was intense! Landing on the strip was a hair raising experience! Made me appreciate all the more what you do all day every day.
Just when you think you had seen everything. Thrill to watch. WOW! It even showed the most beautiful thing in the world a stream of water-why water running down a hill-or mountain is JUST PURE LIFE. we wouldn’t be her without it.
The Pilatus Porter is one of the best bush airplanes that I have seen. It can land and takeoff from extremely short grass runways safely. I believe that it was designed by Pilatus to be the ultimate bush plane!
It is very humbling to see the people and experience them in their remoteness through your videos. Their lives are inextricably linked to their immediate geography. My first world problems pale into insignificance. I don't know from whence you came from Mr Pilot Man but you're a good man for serving the people of Papua.
You are truly fulfilling Jesus’ Command to do unto the least of these! Thank you for what you do. I worked in South Haiti at Hopital Lumiere for several years. Appreciate your dedication. Bob, MD
First of all, great job of editing! I flew helicopters in Indonesia back in the early 1970s, and even worked out of sarong for a while. I really love these videos showing what life is like there today.
@@mitseraffej5812 Hugely! Back then there was virtually no local Air services available. Even the few helicopters that supported oil exploration at that time were considered a rarity. This was the days of the Cargo Cult. Local indigenous people would see helicopters dropping off supplies to survey personnel, and build their own helipads in the jungle, hoping the helicopters would drop them supplies as well. It's so very different today.
@@helibob2367 In the 90s I was flying a medivac aircraft in New Zealand and had a job up to Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu. The airfield now takes B737s and the like but then it was just a narrow strip of bitumen. On arrival I had a strange sense of deja vu. I took a few photos and eventually figured out the reason for the feeling. My father had a photo of his brother standing in front of a Ventura bomber with his fellow airmen on the same airfield during WW2. During WW2 the field was just grass but other than that the same building and trees were in the photos I took, and the photo taken 50 plus years earlier. It even looked as if the same locals were standing around watching. As an aside my uncle and the rest of the crew went missing and presumed dead after hostilities had ceased. The wreckage was found in the 70s, most likely a weather related accident. The remains of the crew were interred on New Ireland.
Very nice. God job for people papua indonesia. Island papua beauty view as mountain, forest or jungle, river. Natural, people papua is hamble. View like this you dident found in Singapore and Malaysia country. Amazing island in southeast. 👍God bless you all papua people. 🙏🙏
Been in and out of Lukla a couple of times, but this is something very special. You need real nerves of steel for such a maneuver. I would say, God you have made some real special people. Thank you for the lovely video.
This is totally different life style & great enjoying the nature & its beauty & bounty. ! Its really a fun to be pilot like this in solo flights.! Not giant B747 .!
Very nice! I really enjoyed the drone shots of the village, the locals and the runway. I super enjoyed the villagers' singing too. That was super nice. Great editing and top-notch flying! Thanks for sharing this!! Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.
The PC6 is the perfect single engine turbine engine aircraft to operate in this types of runways

THANK YOU for not putting background music in the video and letting us enjoy the plane sounds. What an awesome job you have.
I second that, flying around with that scenery, wow!
So beautiful to see the villagers greet the pilot with songs. Such a togetherness that is seldom seen in the west
Que bonito lo esperan con cantos de alabanzas al la avioneta, felicidades piloto!!!! Saludos desde santa cruz Bolivia, america del sur.

Glad you enjoyed it!!
If they would see a car, they would not understand what it‘s for. A plane makes more sense for them.
不是防疫問題 也不是共產黨問題 更不是習近平問題 是這些反賊一意要中國滅亡。
中國又被西方國家給騙了 那些漢奸頻道沒處理 是治標不治本。

Such grateful and kind human beings. Love it.
Hell will be filled with sweet grandma‘s grandpa‘s, grateful and kind human beings!
There's one just like it by my hometown, that's where I learned how to fly and land.

Esa labor tan riesgosa es digna de admiración bendiciones Dios le bendiga a usted y a todo aquel que de una manera u otra ayuda al que menos puede 🙏
You guys who fly these PNG mountain runways are true legends. Thank You for doing what you do!
My village, my grandpa took part in leveling the whole new air landing spot of which I am proud to have watched in the UA-cam.❤
That's an incredible story! I'd love to connect! Could you drop me an email? My email is available on my UA-cam profile. Cheers!
