    planning a diy-v project to replace my totaled v1 before i want to do my long term goal of a diy-v wagon project with a gen 4 motor. you are the man for this even 2 yr later, and this info should be in history books credited to you

      lol thank you. Wish I could help more too. So many people ask me for wiring diagrams and stuff. But I don’t have it. I had to ask a mechanic buddy to print them off and I don’t have them anymore. If you already have a v1, you’re all set, just swap everything over to the new chassis. And the wagon idea is badass. Love the wagons!

      A lot of stuff depending on how you want it done. Ctsv parts help. Get ctsv mounts or entire front subframe, ctsv engine and body harness or terminator efi, ctsv engine accessories or any matching LS car accessories, any transmission but you'll have to have a custom crossmemeber and driveshaft, if you are going t56 you have to have the ctsv pedal assembly

      2010 are second gens. You can't use just the mounts. You have to swap to a ctsv subframe. Still just as easy. Just not quite as cheap.

      Do you have experience with rear axles I just got my hands on a 9 inch ford rear end. I'm not that experience with axles but am I heading in the wrong direction? I'm worried the axle is to wide for the cadi. Plus the guy I purchased it from welded new brackets to convert it to gm style. That's why I jumped on it so quickly and for 100$

    • @integra167
      @integra167  2 роки тому

      If it’s a 9in solid axle, Not many straight axle conversions out there. But have been done. Track width on the caddy is like 61in. So depending on what it came out of, you’d have to look that up. Or put wheels on it and measure it. I’ve looked into a axle conversion, but there really isn’t any kits available. You’d be welding in tubes and braces for the axle geometry. Depending if you go 3 or 4 link, roll bar style, coilovers, etc. it would all be custom.

    • @integra167
      @integra167  2 роки тому

      Creative steel makes a kit to swap a ford 8.8 independent setup that’s probably a better plan. Depending on what you want to do with the car. It’s all bolt in. But pricey. If you are building a drag car, solid axle is fine. You just want to keep its handling characteristics and just have a stronger rear end, go with creative steel 8.8 kit.

    Whats the shifter base you used there? Looks like you just took a short shifter and used it

    • @integra167
      @integra167  2 роки тому +1

      Yep, mustang shifter from Amazon. Cut the shaft off the bottom, so I could mount on a plate. And mounted the plate to the hole in the trans tunnel.

    • @integra167
      @integra167  Рік тому

      Base model cts came with both auto and manual transmissions. But the manual trans is not as common. And wouldn’t bolt up to an LS engine anyways.

    What if I want to use 4l60 or 80? would I have to beat the area the transmission goes?

    • @integra167
      @integra167  Рік тому +1

      I don't think so. I swapped the AR5 and the adapter uses a 4l60 bell housing. The 4l60 usually need the most room because of the angles and shape. But it all cleared just fine. That base model body is the same as the CTSv, and those fit t56 transmissions. You should be good if you go that route.
