Before that I am slowly adding cosmetics like a Hood thinking of going for a Stngray Hood and a OEM Spoiler. Wire Mesh Grill and Dash Cluster. If I must change the Front Bumper then that will need to have done. Your work I do hope has paid off for you. Very sweet of you to do the video. I have not watched the others if there are any yet. Looking forward to the next video of this project!

Hey my man live the video, I got one I plan on throwing a 5.3 in in the near future, just wondering, did you swap the front sub frame to a v subframe, or were you able to make the stock subframe work
Stock one works just fine. Just need V motor mounts. If iron block 5.3, you’ll need V to truck adapters. V mounts are hard to find. You can always buy universal mounts and fab them to work
This video series is great. Im wondering if you would be willing to answer a few questions I may have. Im in the midst of putting an lq4 in my caddy and there are just a few things I haven’t set in stone yet. Thank you
I may have missed in your vids, but did you start off with a rwd or awd platform? Ive just gotten my subframe and drivetrain removed lastnight so after cleaning and tidying up brake lines ill be on my way back in. I opted for the weld in style mounts as the v mounts are no longer easy or affordable to come by. Looking at my awd sub im thinking i will have to plate it near the steering rack to have somewhere to put my mounts
That makes sense. Nothing a little cutting and welding can’t overcome. Are you still driving yours? In debate whether to follow your path with the tablet or try one of the ebay race dash displays

@@ethankent3274 any Ls will fit. Generally, if if came out of a truck, it will have different bolt pattern for the mounts. So ict adapter will be needed to bolt the truck block to the ctsv mounts. Join a bunch of cts and ctsv pages on Facebook. Look for part outs, or ask if anyone has any for sale. Other option, go on car-part.com look up 03-07 cts, engine cradle(under the body tab), find wrecking/parts yards selling a cradle, call them, and ask if they’d sell just the mounts.
That I’m not sure of. I don’t think so. Best way to tell, is jack up the rear. And with the transmission in neutral, rotate one back tire. If the other tire rolls the same direction with the tire you’re rotating, you have lsd. Of it doesn’t rotate at all or goes backward, no lsd.
I stayed with the factory rear. Yours being 2008, should be second gen. And those rears are decent. So I’d stick with what you got. Only other option is going with the creative steel 8.8 swap. But that gets pricey
@@ronnythompson2261 second gen is similar. All second gen V parts will swap right over to your car. I’m pretty sure 2nd gen will need the whole front subframe instead of just mounts.
