At this level no they shouldn’t. These are men with nothing to lose. I would never let my loved ones work at a prison that are female. Hell I wouldn’t even like anyone in my family that’s a man working there.

I AGREE. 110%. I’ve always said this. It’s so obviously logical and intuitive by nature that this shouldn’t be. But yet somehow in this nation -and likely most of the world now-we have to play this little game of mixing everyone in and creating socially engineered situations that just don’t need to be. I mean it’s just mind boggling to me how asinine and illogical this all is. Yet the idiots in this country seem to want to continue this. It’s like they have a fetish for social experimental situations just along these lines. I feel very strongly about this kind of shit and I always have.
Most females want to crucify me for these beliefs because most of them are so illogical and brainwashed by todays modern propaganda. But I really don’t care.

I was a Deputy and worked the jails in California, and you're right. Lockdown units are the safest as opposed to open dorm and "camp" setups. I did LE for eight years (I was also in the Army for 8), and rookies don't last a week in the jails. Working the streets is one thing, but once you work the jails, it's a different ball game. I think a lack of staffing allows for attacks on inmates, civilians, and badge staff.
In California, Assembly Bill 109 establishes the California Public Safety Realignment Act of 2011, which allows for current non-violent, non-serious, and non-sex offenders, who, after they are released from California State prison, are to be supervised at the local County level. Non-violent and non-serious are deceptive words. Someone who is in jail for the weekend shouldn't have to spend time with hardened and violent criminals. I'm rambling. Great videos, man. Subscribed.

I worked at this prison. There are few a missing details here. This guy was angry because he requested to be moved to another prison closer to some of his family members and his request was denied. He decided to attack the next prison guard who entered the POD. He threw scalding hot water in her face like this guy said and then he took the fire extinguisher and hit her in the head over and over and over. There was almost nothing left of her head when he finished smashing it. A couple inmates started to go help her but some other inmates threatened them and kept them from helping her. So, everyone stood around and watched her be murdered.

He killed that first guy over some weed and petty cash so you know he will kill you for nothing, but at the same time 13 years goes by and he doesn't kill anyone else? Within 13 years someone had to have given him a reason to kill them, and if he was just a killer like that, he would have but he didn't until this female officer.

I was working at another closed custody NC Prison when this happened. Had a Partner freeze up on me during a bad fight. I ran in thinkin he was right on my heals all to find out that he froze at the front of the Dayroom against the wall. I think bc all the blood from the fights taking place and he was scared. One fight involved a weapon. Had this lady’s partner paid attention and had her back, she may still be alive. Sad

NC prisons security levels are way different.
Now in Maryland , our prisons are way more violent than NC and if you get "LIFE" the actual letters, you are going to maximum security all day and that's where you will be housed until that person dies.

So Craig fired into the door and the guy got shot .. When Craig and Lawrence opened the door the man had 2 young kids on the couch.. Lawrence told me Craig lit a fire in his cell, and the lady came in with the fire extinguisher and Craig attacked her and took the fire extinguisher and beat her to death with it.. Everything you said was true. The prison system in NC has such a huge turnover. But also they don't do a very good screening for officers. Because I have seen the most twisted people in the world, have the responsibility of CO. And the treatment of inmates would be horrible.
Needless to say, after that happened in the system, it seemed like they started to chill out some. And realize that they're really there for a check. And easily they can ruin their lives too

The Cadet Academy (for prison Correctional Officer job) in my state has a waiting list. There’s numerous prisons in each state, hence numerous new hires needing Academy training. The Academy is 2 months long. When I got hired at a male prison (I’m female), I had to wait 1 month. During that time, new hires can start their job shadowing other CO’s. This way once you graduate from the Academy, you’re ready to jump in and help your shift. You still learn a lot hands on job duties and observing CO’s. The Academy teaches you self defense techniques and pepper spray exposure. Many CO’s are prior military (me too) or cops so they already have self defense and pepper spray training. The rookies that don’t can be more vulnerable.

Medium was a pain in the ass to work on and If you could work it and handle your business, congrats, you were never going to be working anywhere else. The good spots are reserved for the CO’s that have to call the SGT to the wing to get them to do anything. All the accountability,, with none of the authority. They really need to rethink the whole damn thing. Manning is just going to get worse. This generation isn’t going to do that or any other shit job for peanuts anymore. Look around.
