The latest Deco Pro medium drawing tablet feels premium like its Wacom Intuos and Huion competitors. But it brings something pretty new to the game, the ability to connect this graphics tablet to Android.

Oh man, I just wish that they release a new screen tablet with that hybrid wheel and any other possible improvements...!
XP Pen Artist 15.6 PRO
@@CarstenReg As far as I know, the 15.6 Pro only has a dial, not a touch wheel as well, isn't it?
Mecha Pistacchio I just wish I had a graphics tablet
How about a screen tablet that connects to android!!?!?
Wow, your comment aged well. The new XP-PEN Innovator is basically this lol
Have been a Wacom Intuos user for a long long time. These days with so many great graphics tablet companies coming out, I personally feel Wacom is just the pricey brand name now for its more known name recognition. They used to dominate the market. I am the type of guy who is always looking for bigger and better tech regardless of name recognition. I can say XP-Pen has hit a grand slam with this Deco Pro series and others. No point spending double or even triple the amount of money these days unless you just want to tell friends you own a Wacom.
Brad, you didn't mention the touchwheel also operates as a laptop trackpad. You can move the mouse pointer and even the canvas around with your finger on it.
Also, the brightness level on the wheel is adjustable, and you can even turn it off.
Does this work on the XP-Pen Deco Pro Small as well? I mean it would make sense, but I couldn't find anything on that online this far. And does it operate as a trackpad on Desktop PCs as well or is that just for Laptops? I know these questions seem stupid, but I've seen a lot of bs with these devices and it's really important to me.
@@shiishani3302 I can only guess that the small model operates exactly the same as the medium. You can ask XP Pen directly on UA-cam or on their website. I would still recommend a Wacom, though.
@@lillycastitatis6807 Ok, thank you very much.
@@lillycastitatis6807 It does work on the small as well. I just tested.
@@shiishani3302 i know this comment is from a year ago, but your comment just made me purchase it.
Long live XP-PEN
AkuSh_Killer Long live the KING
I’m liking XP pen. If just bought the 22E. I’ve always used Wacom but I’m happy so far. The screen cracked on my 22HD ouch!
how is it compared to the 22hd? I was thinking of switching to huion kamvas pro 22 from my cintiq13hd.
abdul malik it’s very good and considerably cheaper. I had quotes to repair over 600 euros. Er, no. Pity because love Wacom stuff. I do more and more work on the iPad Pro these days so the cheaper Xp pen 22E works for me.
@@graemehogg7033 Is the color, drivers and parralax at least bearable on xp-pen. Because atm the only tablet i trust are apple, wacom, and the new 2019 huions. I heard alot of bad stuff about xp-pens screen tablets. Because if the color and pen isnt good id rather shell out an extra 600 for the22d, or 300 more for a huion kamvas.
I've looked and researched the reviews fir the 22E, but I'm waiting to see when the 2019 comes out. I'm leaning towards the Deco Pro, only because my old Bamboo won't work on my new IMac. I think the new XP-Pen Display should be out in 1-2 months.
abdul malik after 7 years on the Wacom 22HD it’s taking a bit getting used to. Although it’s doing the job. Usual driver tweaking.
I tend to draw quite slowly when I'm inking or finishing an illustration. I found the only tablet that didn't have any wobble when drawing slowly was the intuos pro (when I was looking a few years ago).I even found the wobble lines with the cheaper intuos (non-pro) tablets. It is good to see how much better the cheaper tablets are getting now though.
Just got this last Saturday and the 8k pressure levels are great. The virtual and analog wheels are also a great touch. The software is simple to use and vastly improved. Also, not sure if this is intended but I actually managed to use the pen of my star 03 on it.
While it worked, I didn't really like drawing on Android with it (probably because it was too big). I could see the deco pro s as doing better on that front. Overall, this is a great tablet and I'd highly recommend it for beginner or intermediate artists.
@@donnyrizal_ Can't say since I have never tried Wacom before. That said, I doubt entry level Wacoms can compete with a similarly priced Deco Pro in terms of pressure sensitivity. As for driver and software support, XP-Pen has upped its game in the last year or so. The only thing going for Wacom really is the wireless on some of its entry-level models (I think it's for the Intuos M). Of course, you might want to check on other people who've bought Wacoms and the Deco Pro just to be sure. For me though, I'm really happy with the Deco Pro M. Hopefully they integrate the analog and virtual wheel design on their upcoming display tablets (like what they did with the deco 03's wheel on the 15.6pro).
Hi im kinda stucked on what tablet has better specs and that will last long, what would you prefer? xp pen deco pro or deco 01 v2?
Just bought a clean second-hand "deco pro M" last week (not the wireless version since I don't trust any Bluetooth devices) and it's performing really well so far. I really love it. The wheel is Just so practical to have besides the normal 8 express buttons. I wish the pens aluminum was actually steel instead of plastic. but it's alright as long as you don't wildly scratch the pen
I think the reason it's plastic and not steel, that metal could react with the electromagnetic field required for the pen to work with the tablet.
"It just works"
-Todd Howard and Brad
I have a question for you, Deco pro vs Deco 01 v2 Which device is the best for connecting to Android in your opinion?
I so glad some at least say it..... there's no benefit of getting a Wacom over this. So often people just blur out that you need a Wacom Intuos Pro if you want a pro, but when it comes to these drawing tablets, that's not the case anymore. Great review. Curious, would this work on a Chromebook as well? That would be interesting. Then you could get a Chromebook and this for the price of a same sized intuos Pro :-D
I am like so shook cuz it looks very similar to intuos pro and It's way way cheaper holyy hecc I'm deff buying this
Wacom is terribly overrated, and OVERPRICED. it's literally an apple product at this point. I'm so glad XP Pen and Huion are out there.
@@Lukiro ooh that's a nice comparison x'D yeah it's like an Apple product
So can this work with cromebook?
Nice review Brad. This tablet really looks high quality for the price with lots of features. I hope you could review the XP pen 10s V2 that just recently released. I've been eyeing that.
Would love to see a comparison with the Huion Inspiroy H950P.
compared to deco 3, this one has tilt support, is bigger but lacks the wireless. i got the pro one, also i like companies which makes linux drivers.
I'm having a really hard time deciding between Deco Pro and 01.
I'll admit that the dial seems awesome and the pen appears slightly more comfortable. The tilt is a bonus too I guess.
But what honestly throws me off is just the proportions between the length and width. It just seems to be made for phone screens rather than computer screens.
I should be just fine with either, but like I said; I'm having difficulties in deciding which one to buy. All opinions are welcome, and thanks for the review :)
This is way better than 01 imo, the wheel is super useful, it looks great, pen has tilt and eraser, only advantage of 01 imo is that the overall dimensions are a bit smaller.
im still using my first graphics tablet and its an xp-pen, so this will work out nicely
For how long you are using the xp pen tablet can you tell me
could you review xp pen deco 03? and maybe compare with the deco pro
Yees
the double wheel got me sold! Now I just need some more money to get it XD
Hi, my deco pro came last night and everything works perfectly only problem is... that eye dropper key. You guys may know that whenever you use that key it would be instantly. Problem I’m having is :( i have to click on the color that I want I won’t select a color by it self... I don’t know how i will get use to blend with my new tablet... I need help...
Is it true that this tablet doesn't pick up very light pressured stokes as well as Walcom tablets do? Is it true that this tablet leaves very small "hooks" at the end of thin lined strokes? I might buy the Intuos Pro Instead.
I'm going to get this one, this coming Month. I am doing the small version of it. My brother is going to help me buy it because my XP-PEN Star G640 let go on me (for the 7 months I had it and I contacted them they are going to replace it thank god) . I have a good Brother, he was upset about the Tablet he got me new for my Birthday it did that and also glad it going to get replace. He still wants me to help me buy a new one, when they are on sale on there store right now :) Heck he was the one that pick it out and I love it. So for the time being I am stuck using my very first Tablet I got Star G430S, I am so not use to the tiny space while drawing with it (I also lave the space because it so small ^^''').
BTW great video on it :)
get a non-bumpy ruler, brad
This was a really fun review. I like your co-host, too. I think I need to find myself such a helpful partner to keep me on track.
90 bucks for the small not the medium lol. And this video actually makes me really glad I preordered mine.
I'm really liking that dual-wheel thingy, I'd set up one for brush sizes and the other for canvas rotation. The best thing is that you even get 8 hotkeys and that dual-wheel on the Deco Pro S, which is something Wacom never do on their smaller sized tablets. The Intuos Pro S only has 6 ExpressKeys instead of the usual 8 and single function Touch Ring compared to multi-function Touch Ring on the Intuos Pro M and L, and the Cintiq/Cintiq Pro 13 and 16 only have hotkeys and Touch Ring functionalities on the ExpressKeys Remote that is sold separately (XP-Pen's Artist Pro comes with 8 hotkeys and a dial ON ALL TABLET SIZES!).
At this point, I think the only good reason to get a Wacom is for the premium feel and look of their tablets instead of ergonomics. Glad that XP-Pen and Huion are here to bring some competition to Wacom, and maybe put them back on track.
I bought the Deco3 as a backup for my Intos Pro and the only drawback for me was the touch feature.
I got used to have touch features, but not sure it's worth the price premium to pay extra for it again.
Do you have the intuos and the xp pen installed? Do you have any conflict between the drivers?
@@Doricotongo no, i saw where they could potentially conflict so i took off the Wacom after saving the settings. Installed XP driver then removed it as i went back to Wacom
Okay, hold on. Did I get this right? I can use my xppen star 03 tablet with my android phone? SINCE WHEN?! Hope I got it right.
According to their website it works for Deco 1, 2, 3 and Pro.
Not sure how it works with the older versions tho
Hi all, only the Deco Pro and Star G640S can work with Android phone so far, including Deco Draw and third-party software. The Deco 01, Deco 02, Deco 03 can be used on Android, but they can only work with Deco Draw currently, only one program.
@@XPPen Oh thank you! Any chances for star series to get an android update?
Anyone know if this can be used with Adobe Premiere or Audition where the dial can be used for scrubbing through a track or tracks? That would be a deal sealer for me.
Any one tested this with Maya or other 3D software (zbrush, substance, 3dsMax..)?
I got the S version, it works with ZBrush, no problem
@@Krugljar thank u, i have the deco 03 and i have problems using it with maya(2019) especially , so m planing to buy the pro version if it works flawlessly
Hi, yup, our tablet work with 3D software. :)
Is the pen tip spongy? That's what made me stop using one of my Huion tablets. Every time I press the pen down, the tip gives in for a moment. Obnoxious as hell. I don't have that problem with my XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro, so I'm hoping that other XP-Pens don't have that "problem" (feature?) either.
Okay but why doesn't any other tablet brand besides Wacom put eraser tips in the pen???
The pen on this has 2 buttons, one can be set as eraser
Deco 03 vs deco pro or intous(M).. which one should I go for
I wanna use it on a Music Production software. Is it worth it?
Interesting, I was wondering how you could use tablets with a DAW - I use FL Studio - did you end up doing so?
would you recommend it as a start up drawing tablet?
I do.
Hey Brad, I really enjoy your animations man. Which one do you think is the better option between this one and the Huion HS610? I'm looking to buy one of these as my first drawing tablet
I am not an expert and I know this is late but I think you should go for XP Pen. I've heard numerous stories about Huion's products breaking down after just a few months of use
@@bokutoeandakaasfeet1896 Thanks man, I got the XP Pend Deco Pro, a couple of months ago. Great product so far
@@itsjoedavid Oh, I see, that's great! A small question though: would you recommend it to beginners who just want to start with digital art?
Deco Pro is better
I'm really into XP PEN right now, but I don't know what should I get, Deco 03 or Deco Pro???
Pro
Thank you! after several other videos and text reviews.. This one convinced me to finally buy it! this conclusion from a trusted hardware reviewer... well, I'm going to give it a try! yeeey! :D
Hey I got this since I want to draw more portably. Every time I draw circles in here it comes out as oblongs because my screen ratios different from the tablet, it's very jarring to me drawing because of that. How'd you got around the screen aspect ratio problem?
Hey Brad, your channel rocks, big fan here! man I just tried this one with my Mac and it kinda sticks to the edge of the screen, latest driver, latest OS, and since you have a Macbook I wonder if you saw a behavior like that? Thanks beforehand and keep it up!
On macos Mojave 10.14.6 the latest drivers just don't work..I tried on 3 different Macbooks for my testing. It works fine if the tablet area is selected as full wrt to the screen size..as soon as you change the tablet area...you will initially experience lag and if you keep the pen idle for few minutes and get back to drawing then the real problem starts...you will see the cursor will stop at certain coordinate of the screen and won't move at all!!.. I configured the trackpad to zoom in and zoom out and once the cursor was stuck i had to zoom in zoom out several times and then the cursor would move...its weird...even the tech support was unable to resolve the issue which simply means the testing of the latest driver for mac was not tested properly. The application I tested it on is photoshop cc 2018. A great tablet ruined by poor drivers and poor support!
Pls review the XP Pen star 03 v2,thats the tablet that I bought for me as my first drawing tablet
I've been drawing for awhile with my finger on my phone
i just got a computer so i would appreciate it if you review it
Should i buy wacom intuos pro small or xp pen deco pro for digital painting ??
It also works on Linux (Ubuntu, Mint and so on)
Original drivers?
Thanks for the review. Provide the right information.
I love my Huion H610 v2.
Me too!
Should I buy wacom intuos m???
Or this one???
I use a cintiq 16 and I was looking for medium tablets so i can have a more portable option. I am really considering buying this one, but after some research, i saw some people strugling, on posts from some time ago, with its driver and other companies installed on the same computer. Does anyone knows if it still happens nowadays or they fixed it?
You should never have bunch of different graphics tablet drivers on your PC at the same time it usually causes issues at some point.. I used to own Cintiq 16 when i got XP-Pen MW i deleted Wacom drivers and downloaded XP-Pen ones no issues after that.
[Deco pro] vs [deco 01 v2] ??
Im curious too
I use the deco 01 v2 but i think i could upgrade for the pro or the latest xp pen graphics tablet that suppirts android
For the line quality test I wish you would turn off the pen pressure and stabilization
Hi Brad,
One simple question. I am planning to buy my first Pen Tablet. Could you please let me know which one you recommend? Deco Pro MW or the new Deco LW
What's the better option? Huion HS610 or xp pen deco pro?
Do you know what is the conflict between the drivers with wacom's? I want this tablet to replace mi mouse, but at work i use a cintiq 12 wx (really old) , so i can't uninstall wacom's driver. I'd like to use both
I CAN'T WAIT THE NEW ARTISUL D16 REVIEW
btw wacom bamboo also works on android.. but since the drawingspace is rechtancular with wider width then height it takes all proportions on a mobile phone out of shape..
what i will use the wacom bamboo for is on a android tablet as that has basicly the same proportions as the drawing surface of the bamboo... so it would work wonderfully on that
1:21 the intuos also works on android but only a quarter of the space is used for drawing
I got this tablet as well , but i needed to send it back because by installing the drivers something went wrong and it did not work at all .. The wheel just got red and nothing helped. :/
Been going through your reviews of various tabs. Wanted to ask your opinion on deco pro versus deco 03? Which one would you recommend.. I gotta start drawingggg
nice review. i got the deco 01 and work great ! and does the job.
btw make sure to update the list you put on your site since then for screen tablet and such....
and i would love it if you make a comparsson with huion kamvas pro 16 vs xp pen 15 ( the new one)
keep up the hard work
so on android there's no way to see the circle where the pen is
Did you mean cursor? You could see the cursor while drawing with the pen on Android.
Please do a complete tutorial of your illustration procedure/step by step
Huion Hs610 Or XP Pen Deco What Do You Recommended ?
i know huion tablets don't show the cursor on samsung android devices for the most part. does xp-pen?
So Deco Pro Medium or HUION HS610 is recommended. ?
.
How about the use of android with pc like desktop like how the Samsung Dex are. Can use the tablet also via that format? Or some android tablet?
you heard the man said, all these just bonuses but not necessary. I agree with him really the innovation in drawing tablets are touching the ceiling hardware wise and I only hoping they could put more work on software side.
7:29 Why do you say we'll be drawing in portrait mode?
tablets that supports android doesnt make your phone landscape only portrait mode
@@reminize7546 You could certainly turn your phone on its side to draw though.
Cattyminati gift like
My Thinkpad E590 only has the one USB-C port. Battery dies in 90 minutes 😢, so I would probably need some type of splitter/adapter to plug in this tablet AND charge my laptop 🤔 There are so many on Amazon.
Can someone make a recommendation?
Hey Brad, How about the initial actuation force? Did Xp-pen improved it compare to other deco series?
I don't see him pressing hard in that inking...
Xp-pen just announced their new 13.3 pro display, will you be reviewing that soon?
For a Beginner who wants to use AI,PS,Corel Draw and Animation softwares which should be the ideal pen tablet to start with ??????? Primarily working with Desktop !!!!!!
If this is the medium how big is the large???
He mentioned the fact that there's only two sizes and there's only medium and small
It was a joke about how large the medium is
@@onyxfrench-king611 You haven't seen my XL.... and nope, is not a sex joke, lol.
bigger than my 24 inches monitor...and again, I'm referring to a digital drawing tablet.....

well time for a Call !!!!!!!!!
XP-Pen Deco Pro Medium (OR) Wacom Intuous Medium ????????
Can u tell me how the surface feels to draw? Is it textured or smooth or paper like?
And also do u find the 9×5 inch drawing area size comfortable?
Do you have to download other drawing programs or does it come with the tablet?
Download. For android there's deco draw but thats it. Gimp and Krita are free on Win and Mac.
If using this on your android phone....would it also be possible to screen mirror the phone to your big smart tv?
Also does cursor show on the phone?
Hey guys I need help .I'm planning to buy either xp pen deco03 or deco pro medium and I'm getting them for more or less the same price . Which do you think is a better option ??
I think the Xppen Deco Pro is better, Get the medium version.
@@thephilosopher5799 yess I did end up buying deco pro and I love it 🥰
I wonder if xp-pen will be having some announcement about a large screen laminated display considering they already sent out the smaller one and huion pushed out a big one or did I miss something this year?
Hello, what would you recommend xp-pen M or S? Is it worth the investment in xp-pen MW or SW?
Thank you, God bless you!
I got MW few years ago. extra working space in MW is totally worth the cost in my opinnion.
I bought mine so I could draw on photos & videos. Will it do that?
if all this extra features was in a wacom tablet it will be 1299999 $
i`m really happy with the Chinese tablet
really awesome video keep it up !
True
Hi Brad, planning to buy this for my 13 year old daughter. What Windows drawing program do you recommend? She likes drawing freehand caricatures.
Brad, my man. Paint bucket is your friend. Flood fill FTW!
haha, it'd really bothered me too to see him do that.
wasup bro love your videos just have a question Can u use a different pin or should I say connect a different pin to till tablet?????????
Hey Brad... what is with the natural wood desk top? Looks good! Different from most other tech reviews. Good stuff!
And is that a 2015 or earlier MacBook Pro...??
I think he mentioned in his tech everyday vid that he uses the 2015 macbook.
Please compare this product with Wacom tablets. Or you can just reply to me with which is best to go? I am a beginner to tablets. SO. And also tell me about build quality.
huion has been getting a SHIT TON of attention from illustrators and designers, specially those with millions of followers (jazza), but i feel like xp-pen is the better alternative to wacom
Hi there! How do you know where you will end up drawing on the screen since you can't see the drawing that you physically making with the pen. How do you not accidentelly end up drawing far from where you intended?
Also, do you by any chance know if there is a good and free drawing software that can be used?
Thank you!
You get used to it over time. Also, most drawing software have a hovering cursor feature to help you not get completely lost.
Hand-eye exercises and blind silhouette drawing are ways to improve your coordination with a screen-less tablet.
Disclaimer: I don't own this specific tablet, but I've been using a similar Wacom product for over a decade.
@@Gabu_ ok cool, thank you 😊 that is great to hear 😃
Is it worth buying over huion hs610 which is half the price? Like is thier a significant difference?
My Intuos 4 pen died and I can't continue working with just the eraser set to work as a pen. Would this be better than just replacing the pen for $90?
Does this new pen work on the Xp pen 15.6 pro? I’ve had the pen for around 3 months now and the pen that came with the 15.6 pro now has a lose fit on the rubber grip and twists when I draw on the tablet... is there anyway to shrink the rubber grip? It seems to be pretty loose.
Hi, the PA1 stylus that comes with Deco Pro can not work on Artist 15.6Pro. We recommend you purchase an original stylus for Artist 15.6Pro to use. :)
XP-Pen that was exactly the plan until I saw the new pen, it looks really good 😅
HELP: Hello, thank you very much I have a little bigger problem, and it is that I just bought the deo pro small and in the computer destined for this tablet when I install any driver the mouse (trackpad) is disabled, at first I thought it was the configuration (that is disabled when it detects another mouse), but when I connect any other usb mouse right there the trackpad returns and both work (trackpad and usb mouse) please help what can I do? because the idea is to use it with a laptop and not be carrying an additional mouse. Thank you so much
I can't seem to align the tablet with my laptop. For example, I create a circle in the middle of the tablet, however in the laptop the circle does not actually go in the middle. Hopefully I explained it in a somewhat understandable way. What do you propose?
Dear sir
Can you guide me please which is the best tablet between veiken and Xp pen tablet
can you turn the tablet portrait way on your computer or only when u hook up to android phone
how does it hold with long term use? I heard that the deco 01 surface gathered a lot of scratches compared to the intuos, how is this one?
Hey brad. For you thos one is more better than v2 and v3 of deco? Hope you will notice me. Thanks in advance
Help me please, here in India its available for around 12k and the wacom intus medium(Bluetooth version) is also available in the same price range, the way brad gave review for wacom was quite different from this review. This review is kind of like if you want to buy this, you can but i still recommended wacom one. Please help me and give suggestions, i am a student and i am spending all my savings on a tablet that i will like to relay upon for long.
How is this any different from the deco 1 (apart from Android compatibility of course)
It's weird that it took so long, Android default drivers already support tablet input devices, with at least pressure sensitivity, not sure about tilt, you just need a middle man driver to manage the spacial virtualization.
DeePal072 old Cintiq work on android phones. Well it worked with my note 8. Cintiq pro the screen works, but pen doesn’t :(
