I usually don't watch videos of people showing their stats because it really makes me lose hope cause as an international student I wasn't even offered many opportunities like AP classes and stuff. But since I watched your reaction video and really vibed with you here I am. And let me tell you my man, I'm truly proud of you like all the stuff you did, the way you managed all these things are really impressive and you totally deserve to go to your fave uni. Keep up the good work and stay wonderful♥
If your taking a levels or IB you can even get more credits than ap (at some places like FSU they'd give me enough credits to skip a year for my a levels)
Thank you for sharing your experiences. It really is inspiring and incredibly helpful to me as I’m encouraging my daughter (now a freshman in HS) to think about how and what she wants to invest her time in over the next four years. A very big congratulations to you and your many acceptances into wonderful schools! No doubt you’ve worked incredibly hard to get there.
Hi Emmanuel 👋I know you're going to be an amazing physician. I'm in my 1st year of med school and neither I nor my classmates are any where near as good a test taker as you. But one thing we all have in common with you is our love for people. Keep being that kind hearted person and you'll be tending to patients and making a difference in many lives in no time.
I can’t express how much I appreciate your comment. It truly means a lot to me given the stresses of getting to that goal and motivates me further. Thank you!!!!
Thank you Emmanuel! Finally someone who seems to have put their genuine passions in their application. As a person who has been taking care of a family member for a long time, this gave me more inspiration in my application! Again thank you and God bless your heart🤍
Congrats!! I think that making impacts in your community is just as important/credited as getting national or international awards, and you proved that. Just subscribed, cant wait to watch content!!!
Oh hell nah, you that one guy I met at admit weekend who had HYPS '24 in his bio. Shit, all the more power to you. If we paying thousands of dollars we might as well farm college prestige :P
Hi Emmanuel!! You do not realize how much this video inspired me! My dad doesn't really entrust me to go anywhere, so most of my extracurriculars are probably going to be either passion projects or on-campus stuff. Either way, your video somehow reassurred me. I do have a question though. What extracurriculars, if any, did you do your freshman year summer?
Thank you so much for the positivity. To answer your question i spent my freshman year summer studying for the SAT, i wasn't a part of any like summer programs or research or stuff but using that time to study really prepared me to get a good SAT score.
hey! thank you for this video, it was really insightful! i also take care of a disabled family member, but I’m unsure as to how i would describe that on my application?
Hey, I just found your video. incredible job really putting together everything. but i just joined an american highschool from abroad during the last semester of junior year - couldn't really participate in many extra-curricular because of it, and everything I have is grades from my previous school - which i believe would equate to roughly 3.7-8 GPA for now, probably will be higher ending junior year now. Do you have any advice on what i could do before and through senior year - especially that its already summer. to maximize my chances for a good - decent university. btw keep up your work, im hoping to see more videos from you. Congrats on getting into such great collages, especially in your field.
depends on a lot of specific factors. feel free to dm me on insta to talk more about it: instagram.com/eng_college_stuff?igsh=MW5wNzA1bHNsazFoNA%3D%3D&
Yo, huge congrats!!! I was wondering how I should include my race for college now that these top schools dont look at it. It's played a big part in my life and I've faced a lot of hate for being african american and middle eastern (mixed). How did you?
dm me on insta to talk about it more but i kinda just incorporated the experiences i had in my life related to my identity when the question presented itself. i discussed how these experiences changed how i perceived myself and the decisions i made moving forward.
both would be nice but i would say for your major having dedicated extracurriculars would probably be a bit more beneficial. Maybe an AP art class would look good though
I honestly think with the digitization of the SAT means that more online resources are best. I find the collegepanda guides really useful. there are also AI tools that simulate testing conditions for the DSAT good. I'd say Khan academy's SAT prep is the best free option
great vid, im from around philly too and wanna go into the medical field so would you share what the name of the neuroscience research internship was? thanks
thank you. Dm me on insta (instagram.com/eng_college_stuff?igsh=MW5wNzA1bHNsazFoNA%3D%3D&) and I'll send u the link although I think the application deadline passed.
Oh I see thank you! I’m interested in getting an internship this summer as a high school student but it’s June and all the summer program application deadlines have already passed so do you think it’s still possible to find one through cold emailing or something? Or what is your general experience with that?
@@Jenny-kg6jh i never really sent out cold emails but the earlier the better. assuming that you start school in late august/early september, cold emailing college profs doing research, or just research labs in your area could get you a good position and experience for the summer. you can even choose to pursue personal research as well. it is all really up to how much time end effort you put into it. good luck!!!
yeah I’m a little scared to cold email though since I don’t have much science-related experience ECs but I’ll definitely research about it and try. Thanks again for the advice I really appreciate it and congratulations!!
i might make a video on this but im not entirely sure with the whole supreme court case. its a touchy subject in general but i do think that my ability to explain my racial and ethnic background within the context of my life and show how it has become a core part of my identity through specific circumstances did play some beneficial roll in my application because the admissions officers were able to understand who I am on a deeper level. I wouldnt say that it played a larger roll than more important parts of my application, like my statistics, extracurriculars, essays, LORs, and interviews.
I wouldn’t give comments like this the time or day. For some reason we as a people can’t earn anything, but everything is based on our race! Your stats were impeccable you earned it because you are a hard worker. It’s funny how when they are given something it’s earned… Because privilege doesn’t exist!🤔
