Congrats on your finds. I really like when you show a cleaned closeup of your finds. Good luck in the future.

Thanks William! I always like seeing good close ups of peoples finds so I try to provide the same experience for everyone watching my videos. It's always interesting to see the finds how they look after a bit of cleaning.

Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work. I grew up in MN but now live out west. More goodies in the midwest to find.

Thanks Wilton! Hopefully my tooth pain will go away and I can get myself back into doing some door knocking......haven't really had the ambition in the past week. Thanks for watching!

Great finds! At 20:41, that's a piece of a Shoulder scale, some have referred to them as Epaulettes, but I believe they're Shoulder scales.

Cool! Thanks Darrel! I knew one of you would know what it was. It was going to be the last dig of the hunt while I was heading back to my truck but than I came across that final button.

Nice finds. I am impressed how well you do filming with one hand and digging with the other….. I tried that and I’m all over the place.
Thanks for sharing, those buttons are amazing. Haven’t found an Eagle button yet.

Thanks man! I kind of wonder sometimes how I keep the camera where it needs to be because a lot of times I'm just glancing up at it now and then and not really paying attention to it.

Nice finds! Those signals didn't sound that bad! I dig those all the time. It's amazing at what would have gotten passed by. That fort must have been there for quite a few years. The date range of the things your finding is from the 1860's up to the late 1890's. The piece at the end of the vid, 20:40 is a piece of shoulder epaulette. From what I understand, the rookies would show up in full regalia including shoulder epaulette's, and the old timers would give them crap, and they were then discarded. I'm down in the SW corner of ND and need to head north for a few hunts. Seems to be more heritage up that way. Great history dig!!

Thanks BB! I guess I'm used to hunting yards and such so I'm used to really obvious signals. A lot of the signals out at the fort were real faint and difficult to get to repeat. And you're right on with the fort, 1866 to 1894 I believe.

Nothing lame about any of this. It's all history. I've dug lots of square nails, but nothing like that big one. Wouldn't mind finding one of those. Nice Infantry and General Service buttons, too.

Thanks Daniel! It is super hard to detect that ground out there but anything you come across is super old.....really a fun spot to detect. I shouldn't have used the word lame.....just not as exciting as a silver coin I guess. Thanks for watching!

I feel your pain about your teeth! I currently have only 12 teeth remaining. Two molars on both sides on the top, four front bottom, one molar on the bottom left & three molars bottom right. I'm supposed to be getting my final partials in the next week or two. I used to have great, strong teeth but from what several dentists I've seen over the yrs have said was that some of the meds I take for high blood pressure & other ailments weakened my enamel. I didn't help matters by not keeping up with brushing either so for me it was a combination of factors. Hopefully I can get implants in the near future but for now it's partials for me. Just thought I'd let you know that you're not alone in your pain nor mental stress associated with the hassle of it all. Take care & stay safe!
