A Crack in the Slab was also a good Dishonored 2 mission as well. Going back and forth through time. Destroying something in the past to affect something in the future is pretty dope.
I feel like the Batman Arkham games are often overlooked when it comes to stealth, the games are always celebrated for their combat, but their stealth mechanics are also amazing
Dishonored 2’s “a crack in the slab” is my personal favorite. Using the timepiece to jump back and forth in time to get the drop on enemies, brilliant level.

Splinter Cell was my first stealth game. It blew my mind when I first discovered stealth gameplay as a kid. I was obsessed. My big brother would nervously call my name whenever he entered the basement at night knowing I was probably hiding in the shadows waiting to sneak up and put him in a headlock. He was once in a room watching TV with the lights on and I was crouched in a slightly dark corner and he never noticed me the whole time. Once I was in the backyard at night and my mom let the dog out to pee. I managed to sneak up and grab her while wearing soaking wet sandals. Her heart felt like it was going to explode. For years I could never walk anywhere without thinking about how I'd climb every building I saw. I was always trying to find new ways to break into my own house or infiltrate restricted areas. Stealth was my childhood.

One of the great things about the series is that one doesn't need to be a fan of stealth to enjoy it because you most definitely don't have to play it stealthily. Run & gun/hack is just fine as well.
Maybe a lesser known one but i loved the mission on the (moving!) train in Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow... such a unique mission that stayed in my head since i played it for the first time
For some reason multiple maps of Pandora Tomorrow really stuck with me. The train, the absolute bonkers curfew mission on Jerusalem where you accidentally crash into people's bedrooms, and the TV station level in Jakarta. All intricate and memorable maps, though time has probably somewhat enhanced my fondness of them.
@@lokki9203 it's hard to argue because some Spinter Cell games are really good but as a franchise it has a few bad games when Hitman's only sin to me was Absolution and even absolution was not that bad

22 seconds into the video and it had inspired a comment: definitely make more videos about stealth games and missions, the thumbnail showing a scene from Dishonored and the title had me clicking watch without a second's thought!
The first one was extra stressful, because the other assassin created some time pressure too. I'm used to just taking WAAAAY too long to plan things out.
I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. Probably unpopular to the general community, but to the stealth dudes like me, absolute gem. I love Watchdog 2 so much.
I just wish the game really let you infiltrate however you like, you can't really just hack your way in from afar because eventually the game requires you to go inside, kinda annoyed me tbh
@@raidengoodman8754 you'd have to observe how a level works then execute. Stealth games are pretty much trial and error. Always satisfying to pull off infiltration without being detected.
I always find myself replaying the second to last mission of Dishonored 2, where you have to eliminate the Duke of Serkonos. Not the best level if you ask me, but it's the most aesthetically pleasing; sneaking through essentially a modern day mansion, spying on the rich and corrupt, and having to discern whether one of two Dukes is either the real man or his copycat. Its just a really pretty level to me
Nice pick from Thief 2. That mission is HUGE! That's my all time favorite game series. Suggestions for other picks would be Cragscleft Prison or mission 2 from Thief the Dark Project. Also The Sword (aka Constantine's Manor) mission 5 or 6 depending on which version you're playing. That mission still rolls around in my head on nearly a daily basis. Also the asylum mission in deadly shadows still haunts my nightmares.
@@andyrobins8261 they weren't that hard if you know how to get rid of them. And I don't even think they were part of that mission. I just thought it was cool changing between two different points in time as a stealth mechanic.
I was hoping you'd mention Thief 2. Who can't mention Thief 2 when talking about the greatest games of all time, let alone best stealth missions? I'd definitely say Life Of The Party was amazing, but also, in the same game, Shipping & Receiving and First City Bank & Trust were amazing.
Shipping and Receiving is still one of my most favourite. Bank is huge, with lots of ways in (which Life of Party was not great at). Still "ultimate stealth: is "Casing the joint", which you must ghost through. This is a great stealth mission. Generally almost every Thief 2 mission had something in it that was special.
After I replayed Hitman 2's "Invitation to a Party" mission.. it never took me more than 5 minutes to successfully get a Silent Assassin rating and I didn't even had to take a disguise to complete the objectives.. it was one of my favourite mission of the Hitman 2: Silent Assassin game and this vid just brings back those old memories ☺️☺️
Totally! Those games were magical. The diversity of missions in different environments was soo cool, very creative. My personal favorite was The Metal Age, but all of them were pure gold
Number 1. What a shout. If you accessed all of the computers in that level you got an encrypted message that had the numbers for a key pad with some goodies for the sc20k as your leaving the building before the guy goes for a smoke break. Those were the days.
The first two have to be my favourite games of all time. The level design is simply amazing. Atmosphere is also jusy incredible despite the old graphics. Don't forget the patches, tfix for thief 1 and tafferpatcher for thief 2.
I feel like a ducking idiot... I started playing theif 2014 because it looked bad ass with the thumbnail but it opens with a card game and I thought the entire game was a card game so I never played. Will have to play once I finish the entire AC series full synch... for the second time... Only have unity and oddest left to go but I really don’t want to play those two again (mainly odyssey).
Most of the Payday 2 missions were super fun to play stealthily, but you either had to play alone or with friends because there was always that one guy online who would ruin it for everyone
I recently did a new playthrough of Dishonored and on the Lady Boyle mission, I found out that you can sign your name in the guest ledger after disappearing lady Boyle and it was one of the most satisfying and cool moments in a mission that I never knew about. Definitely worth a spot if you guys do another episode.
The original Thief series was awesome. I replayed many of the missions over and over again because they were so much fun. Extinguishing torches with water arrows was an awesome mechanic.
Yeah but it’s not really a stealth mission when it’s COD. It just doesn’t feel very stealthy compared to other missions in other games. Sure it’s stealthy and cool but no where close to something like dishonored, or AC.
I just replayed the first two games to try to get the trophies and different endings,Sure,Stealth can be fun,Such as in "Sniper team" and "Pavel" missions,But the Stealth makes no sense,Artyom just goes around and beats some metallic helmets,And for our surprise,No one hears the sound of Metal and screams two feet away in a perfectly visible shadowy corner,The shadows are so bright you never actually get to use your NVG.
The mission that taught me the word "Stealth" is "All Ghillied up". This is after I had played assassin's creed. My god while playing that mission I was on my toes... Just 2 guys going right under the noses of military personnel. Wow that was just amazing and that last leg of the mission where we literally have to carry our teammate and not die simultaneously oh my god. That whole mission was a kind of revelation to me, that sure we can go guns blazing but by using our mind and patience we not only conserve ammo it tests our skills our patience. This mission will always have a special place in Gaming History.
It may not be a mission but thief simulator does this really well. Especially when you get to the late game stuff, from the stake out, finding out residents daily routines, getting inside dogging security cameras and guards, to the escape with whatever massive item your carrying before the resident gets back. Plus it has VR
I thought it was gonna be a pretty straightforward game but there's a ton of thought put into it. Having to prep so much is the big leagues imo. Those screams when you're noticed give me much more of a rush than any alarm or gunfire in any other stealth game. I think it's mainly due to your guy not being any kind of badass. Can't run fast, can't parkour, can't shoot the snitch, can't drive well. Dude is super vulnerable
I used to HATE stealth games (although I did like Metal Gear since the NES days) but then I played "Tenchu" & realized just how fun they were, then I played "Deus Ex" & I fell in love with stealth games.
As soon as I saw the title of this video I thought; "if they don't bring up the ghillie suit mission from MW that would be a sin", and then you mentioned it almost instantly. Because that was one of the coolest video game missions ever.
@@hashbrownslinging-slasher872 without a doubt, it really set down the groundwork for even wilder outside the box level design. Everyone talks so much about map size and never enough about density or quality.
MgsV was always stressful in a good way. Creeping past enemies, choosing who & who not to send to base. Grabbing Intel, & creeping back out of sight, then taking off full sprint to the extraction point. It's always a good time
Great video man. I’ve never played Chaos Theory, but Splinter Cell: Double Agent is one of my all-time favourite stealth games, thrilling from start to finish. The missions are based in incredible locations (the Chinese New Year Shanghai mission is a personal favourite) and the freedom to choose between both sides of your double-agent status is SO cool. Metal Gear Solid 2-4 all absolutely outstanding too (especially 3 and 4 IMO).
@@SzatanistaDzezowy it isn't too bad but it just doesn't feel like a Hitman game and like the disguises were literally useless and a lot of the situations stealth isn't really an option and the game itself it felt more like run and gun and get the hell out rather than knock out people silently and take their disguises and try not to get noticed and the instinct system was just AWFUL.
@@ultimatebro5719 Agreed but I gotta add - the story was also awfull. One of the stupidest stories in games ever. And the acting by voice actors and their lines and dialoges were just cringe...

"[Hitman] was one of the first games where you got that satisfying feeling of pulling something off that was awesome and stealthy"... Commandos begs its pardon!
My thoughts exactly! Like, you thought you were safe then suddenly "Yeah, see those things you thought you couldn't be seen on until you were caught? Heh. Yeah you can't use those anymore."
You didn’t put in syphon filter :(. I remember there being a mission where you lost all your weapons and had to creep around to get. That was years ago though
Splinter Cell 1 my first ever played stealth game in older windows XP pc. I remember how frustrated I was even in the training section as this was an entirely new experience for me and all I can say it really teaches you the essentials of how to play a stealth game in non lethal manner. Hardly anything I can find in modern day titles.
I very much hoped for a Commandos shout out. Beyond the Call of Duty was a masterpiece and Commandos 2 had so many great stealth missions! The one in Paris where you have to assassinate a general who would pass the mission map once in a car all surrounded by guards was absolutely satisfying!!

I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. Probably unpopular to the general community, but to the stealth dudes like me, absolute gem. I love Watchdog 2 so much.
Not unpopular
I just wish the game really let you infiltrate however you like, you can't really just hack your way in from afar because eventually the game requires you to go inside, kinda annoyed me tbh
I generally enjoy stealth missions... for the first five minutes then it’s all helicopters and explosions LETS GOOOO
GET TO THE CHOPPAAA
Same. I always try to sneak but eventually get caught no matter what
100th like, ahh so satisfying.
@@raidengoodman8754 you'd have to observe how a level works then execute. Stealth games are pretty much trial and error. Always satisfying to pull off infiltration without being detected.
I live for stealth. I could sit and watch troop movements forever to clear an area unseen, and I'd never get bored.
Thank you for recognising my skill. This mission was one of my proudest moments.
Especially with StealthGamerBR's playstyle
Mayte Exxis Precisely
I always find myself replaying the second to last mission of Dishonored 2, where you have to eliminate the Duke of Serkonos. Not the best level if you ask me, but it's the most aesthetically pleasing; sneaking through essentially a modern day mansion, spying on the rich and corrupt, and having to discern whether one of two Dukes is either the real man or his copycat. Its just a really pretty level to me
Who remembers the old school Hobbit on PC way back in the day. Sneaking round some sleeping trolls avoiding them leaves......
Sly 2 “Stealing a Tuxedo”
Yeah or some sly mission
Ooooohh yea!
Absolute classic!! Guess I'm digging up my thieves in time disc, it came with the original trilogy too!!
I totally forgot about the sly games!!
The timepiece mission in Dishonored 2
with the gigantic clockwork soliders? i HAAATED that mission
@@andyrobins8261 they weren't that hard if you know how to get rid of them. And I don't even think they were part of that mission. I just thought it was cool changing between two different points in time as a stealth mechanic.
@@andyrobins8261 I feel like you're thinking about a different mission.
It's rewind time !
@@rihara1729
Nope not rewind ..
The newest hitman games have some of the best damn stealth I have EVER seen
Not as good as Burger King: Sneak King
They should really remaster the Thief Trilogy. Thief 3 Deadly Shadows is my favorite stealth game of all time.
Totally! Those games were magical. The diversity of missions in different environments was soo cool, very creative. My personal favorite was The Metal Age, but all of them were pure gold
Remake* But yeah if they were remade with modern combat, mechanics and graphics I think I’d love them.
Was waiting for splinter cell since first moment. Also glad u recognize mark of the ninja, one of the satisfying games ever. Thank you guys really!
Tenchu, Metal Gear Solid, and Splinter Cell were all I cared about back then!
Number 1. What a shout. If you accessed all of the computers in that level you got an encrypted message that had the numbers for a key pad with some goodies for the sc20k as your leaving the building before the guy goes for a smoke break. Those were the days.
Madd Dogg's Rhymes because nostalgia
Honestly the stealth in GTA games always sucked but that was a good mission
I’m gonna go download the original Thief series now. I feel like as a stealth game fanatic, i have sinned against myself for never playing them.
Have fun! Theif (Lastest One) is my all time favorite
Play them theyre great even if they are hard as nails
God, you're in for a ride there. Fantastic games, old but gold. The level architecture, for example, was fenomenal ♥️

All Ghillied up was such an original and iconic mission. Straight up badass mission
best concept for a series "best *type* Missions of all time"
Payday 2 has some crazy stealth missions, takes time, patience and perfection
Thank you! I was gonna say the painting mission with the gold in the last part as well, soloing it!
Yeah the Dentist and the Elephant mission's are the best. And not to forget the Merkiwather wearhouse
Most of the Payday 2 missions were super fun to play stealthily, but you either had to play alone or with friends because there was always that one guy online who would ruin it for everyone
Was about to scream about Splinter Cell until I saw the list. Such a beautiful game.
1:56 nothing weird about this choice, amazing stealth mission
Yeah but it’s not really a stealth mission when it’s COD. It just doesn’t feel very stealthy compared to other missions in other games. Sure it’s stealthy and cool but no where close to something like dishonored, or AC.
Was hoping to see any of the Metro games mentioned! :(
I just replayed the first two games to try to get the trophies and different endings,Sure,Stealth can be fun,Such as in "Sniper team" and "Pavel" missions,But the Stealth makes no sense,Artyom just goes around and beats some metallic helmets,And for our surprise,No one hears the sound of Metal and screams two feet away in a perfectly visible shadowy corner,The shadows are so bright you never actually get to use your NVG.
Stealth games are super fun sometimes Styx did a really good job and some RuneScape stealth missions are okay
'All Ghillied Up' pure nostalgia. Straight up halcyon days of COD.
Tenchu is definitely the best stealth game out of all of these. It's definitely been long overdue for an updated version.
Between tenchu and splinter cell for me, incredible games both are sorely missed
The Ghost Recon: Wildlands mission where you sneak in an evangelist church live broadcast to expose the priest and cartel... Mwah 💋
yeah, loved that mission. Wildlands is sooooo much better than Breakpoint.
Bro yessss I remember that mission, took me a few try’s but its a great mission
Hell yeah! Especially if you come in from the mountain side. Or if you parachuted on top of the church and pray your AI doesn't spawn inside.
Try the real Ghost Recon, that's stealth and tactics. Ubisoft turned it into run and gun action game.
@@miceandgods4171 You gotta try GRW with a 4 man all playing on realistic with marks and the mini-map off. It's the only way I've enjoyed it.
Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood quest "Whodunit?" Most fun quest in the series.
Oblivion’s whole dark brotherhood ark is amazing
I just walked around killing all of them before they realize someone died
@@whoami1449 damn the joke really got under your skin
The Silent realms from Skyward Sword have gotta be my favourite.
Really? Zelda?
The mission that taught me the word "Stealth" is "All Ghillied up". This is after I had played assassin's creed. My god while playing that mission I was on my toes... Just 2 guys going right under the noses of military personnel. Wow that was just amazing and that last leg of the mission where we literally have to carry our teammate and not die simultaneously oh my god. That whole mission was a kind of revelation to me, that sure we can go guns blazing but by using our mind and patience we not only conserve ammo it tests our skills our patience. This mission will always have a special place in Gaming History.
So many missions from Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and MW2 will go down in gaming history as masterpieces. In fact, many of them already have.
Dishonered has to be top 20 best games ever
I'm looking forward to their next game!! So excited! I think it's called Deathloop ☺️
I think Dishonored is my 2nd favourite game of all time. 2nd only to Dishonored 2 lol.
i feel like tenchu doesn't get enough recognition
Totally!!
What about Deus Ex: HR police station mission or the Deus Ex: MD bank mission. For me it doesn’t get better than that..
Ah...Sam Fisher. You did it again.
Great list. I was particularly glad when you mentioned Hitman 2, Tenchu and the original Assassin's Creed.
Listen here, Lady Boyle's Last Party walked so Kirin Jindosh's Clockwork Mansion could RUN.
Conner McCollum yESSS.
But Dust District though.
And the other time mansion level.
Hitman absolution: chapter 4 “Run for your life” in purists difficulty without been spotted. That would be a memorable mission for next video
Nope. Worst Hitman ever, no good missions. Nothing is good in this shit game
@@ultimatebro5719 And also I might add, the whole game has some wierd BDSM thingy going on. Sexy killer nuns, people talking about genitals all the time, almost all the targets are perverts... Plus even when you hide 2 bodies in the same place they always look like they are copulating. Did horny teenagers write this game?
Wasn't that mission impossible to silent assassin on purist because of the bug right at the end?

There could’ve been more splinter cell missions. Those are the definitive stealth games that we need more of
The last of Us is great for being stealthy, I'm hoping part 2 has taken it to the next level.

@@GTKavanagh Exactly!
I just knew "All Guillied Up" would be here, please continue the series 🔥
Every damn mission in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is a masterpeice in stealth. Hands down the best of the best stealth game ever made.
best stealth game is assassinating jake without being seen by his action figures
You didn’t put in syphon filter :(. I remember there being a mission where you lost all your weapons and had to creep around to get. That was years ago though
I’d give an honorable shoutout to Manhunt, from Rockstar.
I was gonna say the same thing, a new game on next gen would be brutal
Sickest Game ever so brutal and Dirty but i Love it
Part one and 2 are still one of my favourite Games
Splinter Cell 1 my first ever played stealth game in older windows XP pc. I remember how frustrated I was even in the training section as this was an entirely new experience for me and all I can say it really teaches you the essentials of how to play a stealth game in non lethal manner. Hardly anything I can find in modern day titles.
I recommend the OG Thief Games for you.
I very much hoped for a Commandos shout out. Beyond the Call of Duty was a masterpiece and Commandos 2 had so many great stealth missions! The one in Paris where you have to assassinate a general who would pass the mission map once in a car all surrounded by guards was absolutely satisfying!!
