- So, after the success of the last video, I decided to go even further beyond with the Generation 3 Remakes of Omega Ruby, and specifically, Alpha Sapphire. I love how in ORAS they just said "Fuck It, want a full team of legendaries before you even beat the 8th gym? We'll even get you started with a Latias/Latios."
gen 6 games were too easy, your always overleveled in X/Y and you have like 6000 legendaries in oras, and if lets go evee/pika counts then it was easy because it was just about catching pokemon

Turn down your volumes. I have mine somewhere around 60-70 percent max which is still considered in the dangerous for ears category and the dex noise is fine.

It's not the sound's volume that makes it grating. It's a very alerting sound compared to the chime used in John's video. This sound wasn't meant to be heard as frequently as it is.

I feel like these videos would be greatly enhanced by a badge counter. Like have the silhouettes of the badges somewhere and light them up when you obtain them so that people can know where you're at in the play through with what badges specifically. Just a suggestion, great video btw, a really unique challenge!

Oh please, I already know how hard it's gonna be to get Seviper/Zangoose in their encounters, I did it in a casual run...

Heatmor however, has the same issue as Seviper/Zangoose. Begs the question of another challenge -- getting all the available Hidden Ability mons in the game...
@@ChaoticMeatballTV I'm not sure if you've done the video yet, but I think if you have a nocktowl or a move like follow me or taunt, you can stop them from attacking each other. I may be mixing up the details a bit and I dont know if you can get any pokemon like that early in the game, but there are ways to make it better
Generally I don't mind spending 20+ minutes searching for a 4 or 5% encounter but what bugs me is spending 45+ minutes on a supposedly 15% encounter. It seems to always happen lol
I know it's an old comment but yesterday I spent 6 hours trying to find a Feebas and still didn't catch one... I needed you to know that
@@Bastian_Jumps I'm not sure how hard they are to catch in ORAS but in Gen 3 and 4 you almost need a guide just to know HOW to find them.
@@zjzr08 Haha yeah I know. Six tiles where you can catch them at a certain percent chance, and going two catches at each tile it took me now even longer and still no luck xD

You can actually get a Lv100 wild Magikarp or Gyarados in Black and White 2
So Deoxys isn’t the highest

I'm glad to see someone else doing these games. I took this challenge on right after Johnstones first POC video. I was the first to do Omega Ruby and spent a long time doing this hell. The Mirage Islands were by far the worst part but I was just glad to move on to something different
Really, the badges are your reward for each section, because you can pretty much just 1-shot everything at that point.
The audio is a lot better in this video than the last POC video, but you play the Pokemon-caught-jingle a bit too often at the start. Maybe group caught Pokemon better per jingle or make the jingle shorter, it gets a bit grating.
Other than that, great video.

you can use a different (shorter/quieter) sound for the +dex total

I know that's wrong. Magikarp and Gyarados both appear when fishing on (rippling, in Gyarados' case) water in B2/W2 nature preserve, at levels 1-100
And in platinum in the post game island there is a place where you can fish for level 1-100 magicarps
Been subscribed for awhile now but I wanted to say thanks for doing these professor oak challenges. I too am attracted to the insane grind of these challenges and this video helped me a lot with my Omega ruby playthrough. Keep it up pal

9:08 - when I'm playing the poké X I learning the effects of overworlds habilitys. Its sooooo much more quick to catch the minum-plusle after this (static increase the chances for eletric pokes appear)

Actually, they're all Text-to-Speech software, I used them just for a comment game that I guess nobody really wants to guess, probably because it's a little hard lol

When i played Alpha Sapphire I didn't save before I fought Kyogre and wasted every Pokeball I had except for one nest ball....and that's how I caught Kyogre before I had to kill him or he would destroy my team XD he was in the yellow to and wide awake, felt so lucky

Alpha Sapphire was the reason I bought my 3DS and re-join the pokemon games. Haven't played them since Gen 3 and the remakes looked like a good opportunity :D
To reward myself in that, it is the only pokemon game that I have a full pokedex and that stuff is something that I'm really proud

Excellent video! Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are by far the best Pokémon remakes ever: not only because of the insane quantity of availabe Pokémon they have but also for the many resources you have access to (e.g. Megaevolution, Supertraining, DexNav, etc.). The only thing I do not like is that I consider the gym leaders should have the teams of Emerald, as I think most of them lack Pokémon... Thank you for such a great video!

People don't understand how long video making takes. Planning your route for catching everything and grinding everything up, you know, actually playing the game. Then editing the video together. Getting each individual clip to line up with his words in the script. Writing a script that is coherent and makes sense.
I love how you are doing content similar but not copying Johnstone. After this and SS/HG will you still do the challenge? Also if there are more remakes would you still make videos on those games? Either way I will still be watching and I hope this channel grows a lot!
Yep, HG/SS is still on the cards! Though I'm likely just gonna end up doing it after Colosseum and XD due to it being, well, very troublesome to say the least... basically it's the Safari Zone. I'll break it down briefly:
Basically, the Safari Zone has these interchangeable areas that have to have blocks set in them to get certain Pokemon, I have to do this after beating the Elite 4 and to have the blocks and the areas at the levels needed, I have to wait several IRL months for it to happen. I'd use an Action Replay code but I'd feel pretty cheap. If any of you guys rather me use the AR cheat to get past it so you can watch the video, let me know, but other than that I'm gonna have to wait on that.
@@ChaoticMeatballTV I would be fine with AR as waiting months for a video that otherwise may take a few weeks seems like a bad mechanic to begin with.

Tbh, you could just use blissey bases, which are bases set up by other people that have Level 100 (scaled) Blissey that only know healing wish, which kill the first 2/3 instantly and the last one easily knocks itself out after 10 turns of nothing and then struggle plus weak chip damage. This unlocks after you beat watson so everything after him could be alot faster
that would require another game, which is banned in pocs

I've been playing OmegaRuby recently so watching this is good training for my own POC. The only difference between this upload and my playthrough is I'm grinding after the first gym using the rematch system.

Not gonna lie, watching these motivated me to start my own in omega ruby, almost ready to fight Flannery, just have to get the zangoose and wynaut egg before the grinding

I don't know if this has been said, or if it's useful, but a pokemon with Pickup at level 21 and up can pickup a rare candy, this is the case for all games starting with Emerald.
I think the rare candy rates though where changed between ruby and emerald so I don't think even with that it would have sped up by much. Maybe someone should check if it would *looks at John*
In this game the pick up ability have a 4% chance to get a rare candy if ur pokemon its 21 or higher it changes to 10% if the level of pokemon with pick up its 41

You can actually get Zangoose with Seviper hoards (I got one this way), and the other way around in Omega Ruby
There’s no seviper and zangoose hordes in omega ruby and alpha sapphire there is in x and y
Those Hordes Are Only In X & Y.

Nah it's the Zorua I had in my party at the time. Just the ability that it has made it transform into Swampert due to it being the last Pokemon in my party.

I used to play this game all of the time. it was summer and there was no wifi where i was, so i would just sit down and play this while rewatching the same movie over and over again. once i beat it i made it a goal to complete the pokedex, and to get rayquaza to level 100. my pokedex was at 397 with 106:47
You didn’t catch Kyreum, which I’m pretty sure you can catch
(Nevermind i just realized that you need to trade for the other gen 5 box legendary)
On the first part of the challenge on a physical copy (meaning normal speed). Only need a moon stone and 3 pokemon to evolve. I'm @13 hours so far. If you keep them unevolved they gain another 0.25% boost (making it a total of 150% with the two hearts friendship). I believe it's faster this way
How did he get the evolution stones early on? Zigzagoons?
If you use the super training and get a pokemon to max evs, like he did, he unlocks a section on there called "secret super training" some of the levels there give chance for all stones as of this game. Meaning he can get all the stones he needs.
The secret training, baloon mini game stuff; it's a 3ds thing that's in the remakes.

So fun fact, there's at least 3 wild encounters that have level 80 Pokemon (that I know of)! There's the Arceus in Diamond/ Pearl/ and Platinum (which was event only), Deoxeys in the Delta Episode, and, most recently, a Wailord in Isle of Armor DLC for Sword and Shield.
Dude, I love your prof. oak videos, but that sound that goes off when you add to your dex total is super grating and makes it difficult for me to watch your video.
Do you prefer I use a shorter sound, like the Level Up ding? I'd like to still use a slight noise, but I'm alright with not using them if people don't want them in the videos.
