I'm surprised anyone was ever gonna do one of these. I remember there being like a billion pokemon everywhere in X and Y so I thought no one would have the patience and perseverance to finish.
Jacob Cain HGSS isn’t the hardest. Aside from the Dragonite before Whitney, it’s actually just a really tedious one because of the low levelled wild Pokemon. The only reason it sucks is because it requires you to wait 100 IRL days to get the entire Safari Zone.
ian moser The one that’s considered the hardest would be Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It has the scaled exp from Gen 5, a giant Pokedex total (which has extra optional Pokemon on top of that), many high levelled evolutions, forced wait times (you need to get fossils and stones from Poké Pelago, each attempt forces you to wait 12 hours just to maybe be lucky enough), and the lowest rare candy odds in the series to this date.
Here's something you could do in other challenges to help us visualize what you're actually doing, since rattling off Pokemon back to back gets VERY confusing very quickly. Rather than having the box art, replace it with one of those sprite lists showing EVERY Pokemon grayed out, and as you add them to your dex highlight them. As you come to mention version exclusives, trade evolutions, and unobtainables like other starters or legendaries, you can black their sprites out to symbolize their absence.
This would be EXTREMELY difficult with games that have 400+ like X/Y, OR/AS, HG/SS, etc. I'll do this for Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee though, I'm sure it'll be manageable for that!
@@ChaoticMeatballTV don’t know if you will see this at this point of time, but you could do this but for every section and not the whole dex, so like before first gym you list al the Pokémon you need to catch and evolve and do a seperate window of this for every portion of the game.
Camphrir town and the route following it is the best area of the game. You have the daycare, the battle chataeu, and the berry field. Whats not to love?
Realized just in time that you can go to route 21 before Wulfric and caught those pokemon today, my Dragonair took thirty mins to find but it was worth it, my first Shiny of my run. Thanks for the series it got me back into pokemon.
thirty minutes for a shiny 5%?????? I tried hunting there with chain fishing and it took me 21 phases and 5 days with no shiny dratini before I gave up
Script says Fire Stone, I think I was either rushing or something. Hopefully people read the comments from here on out so that I don't get another 20 comments saying this exact thing lol
Oh right another oak challenge great work dude looking forward for gen 5 and 7 games for the oak challenge lol I can wait for Heartgold I look forward to whenever you upload the video dude
I’m doing this run right now and kept thinking that EXP worked how it did in older generations so I kept only training one or two at a time during the early section.
I'm glad I went through your other videos, this is a great improvement over little time. Enjoying your format and voice more than JohnStone; hope you keep making Pokémon videos!
7:42 - small tip for this problem: lead with a pokemon that is faster than Abra and knows Taunt. Taunt prevents the use of non-damaging moves for three moves and forces it into using Struggle which safely damages it in the process.
x and y being my very first pokemon game that i actually owned, i always wonder how long it took to get all pokemon. around a month or two ago i found about professor oak's challenge and i wondered how easily/difficult it would be in the new gens, im glad you made this video as it showed how time consuming and boring it would probably be, especially since the new gens have a lot more pokemon to catch.
I'm just waiting for Bannette. Last pokemon for this section. Had to revisit this video since I couldn't figure out how I'm supposed to have 389 pokemon right now. Really appreciate this video and love it
In the first section, I did all of the normal super training with my fletchling and then trained it until secret super training opened up. It was surprisingly fast
Hey, to anyone who is struggling through the first fifty hours that come before gym #1. I found that you can speed up the process by abusing repels. You’re gonna need a pick up squad to get some, but by fainting a Pokémon at level 7 in your first slot you can raise encounter rates for Farfetch’d and Dunsparse by over 50%. (That’s my rough estimate cause you remove 60% of encounters on that route) *Use Pc box to restore PP instead of pokecenter, also prevents accidental pokerus cure cause I’m dumb. **To save extra time from pickup squad, turn around without leaving the patch of grass in order to minimize repel waste.
Ah, I didn't know about the extra exp with pokemon amii, that would have helped a lot :D The first section took me a bit over 44 hours :D But I'm also doing a living dex, so a bit more catching and training. I'm currently in the second section and on the task to catch 4 Ralts… Also can't wait to catch three Abras -.- (Or maybe only two since I can't do the last evolution)
As someone who has played through X/Y, I safely say that it is he first game in the series to have no rivals, it just has four of barry's illegitimate siblings.
I've pretty much done my own Professor Oak challenge on my own x version. Though there were a couple of mistakes I made. I forgot to re-set for a female Snorlax, so I wasn't able to breed it for Munchlax until I got to Pokemon village where you get Ditto. I also forgot Kangaskhan, Lunatone and Solrock before battling Grant so I counted them as 'missed Pokemon'. Though considering their low encounter rates I'm not that surprised. I did get them before getting Korina's badge though once I remembered that I did missed them. God I hated the first portion of the challenge. Friendship evolutions and the ones that evolved at 34 plus were super grindy. I'm almost done. Just got to do the elite four now and then evolve Gligar and Sneasel in the post-game.
Trevor, when the player gets to Lavarre Trail (the autumn-y one): "You got here so fast!" Current time spent playing: Over 50 hours. Edit: Just got to the part with victory road, imagine getting jumped by a flying hydreigon in the wild area at like level 10
Okay, i was reading this comment and didnt understand what "POC" stands for. When i realised i felt like an idiot. Im sorry for my bad english, im not an native speaker.
Funny enough I got the title of Grand Duchess while grinding for the pre-Grant section, even though from what I could find I had to battle all gym leaders and Elite four
I got really lucky with the seviper. I'm playing on x, used my level 29 bulbasaur with razor leaf, and one of the zangoose was faster. Almost killed it but it barely lived. If the zangoose had done just a bit more damage or if I had not taken all of them out in one go or done just a bit more damage to seviper, it would have taken more than one encounter to get it
