Completely nailed it Gagan Sir. The main problem with Honda is that they take Indian customer sentiments for granted & just dump shits in the market hoping everyone will buy with no questions asked. If Tata & Mahindra can innovate, Honda why not? There lies the main point.
For sure they've taken it granted just like Ford and now see where they are. Indian consumer will show them there way out of this market
Not only Honda, even Toyota are doing the same stuff. Go and check their international cars, their make is completely different. To the Indian customers they take for granted and here they sell shitty stuff, without any quality. I myself had own a brand new Toyota Corolla outside India and here when I saw their corolla, its a complete different worst quality.
The main problem is Indian customer base which is very cost sensitive and priority is only for fuel efficiency and some useless features like panoramic sunroof, SUV like stance without all wheel drive. Honda is mainly known for their good performance engines which everyone want for a cheap price and our tax structure is not suitable for high performing bigger capacity engines. Fuel costs are also very high when compared to other Asian countries like, Philipines, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.....
All in all most of the mainstream Japanese manufacturers dont have much profit in India when compared to other Asian countries where only Suzuki is suceeding because they have the cheapest produced vehicles in Japan and India.
@@tijokurian3820 I won't say India is to that point cost sensitive. Yeah it can be true to a certain extent but see people are even buying Fortuner with 60 lakh price. Is it justified. Same for Innova as well. Honda doesn't have anything which is outright appealing to the masses.
Great insights. Last year I purchased Honda Elevate Automatic ZX. I was able to afford the top version because it was introduced as the cheapest in its segment. And, it had all the necessary standard and advance features at 15.99 lacs. A reasonable price with top notch quality. So ,if you are driving a honda you are few of those niche individuals who understand the meaning of "quality". And quality comes at a cost! Less features and good quality is the focus of Honda. Remember, Honda is not for the mass market; but for those who understand quality.
You can Very we'll go to an interview and say you own a Honda. Means, you understand Quality. You see... and that's what they are focusing.
Well, you can now clearly distinguish yourself from the mass and you don't have to say a word.
Correct, true car guys love honda
Only if Honda management would have watched this. I guess with an MBA degree management folks lose sense of practicality at the grassroot level. I feel sorry for Honda.
Agreed on your views......but Honda is a no nonsense car....I have bought HONDA City in 2024.... and having very good experience...have seen many other reputed brands with features loaded in it..
But there are some or the other small issue keeps on coming...though the companies solve the problems...but it's very irritating....so Honda is a car for those who wants to enjoy the drive without any complaints for years...in my view..
Correct, which model you got and state of registration
The main issue with Honda is overconfidence and arrogance, spare parts not available after market and high price. These are the reason Honda is going down.
💯
Agreed
Even Honda showrooms r not providing theirs parts on time.🤬🤬
I am using brio for last 10 years and the experience is amazing. Still now the refinement is better than fe new cars and reliability is unmatched. I am feeling sad for Honda. I don’t understand why they are not doing the needful.
12 yrs ✋🏻
It's a toy car
Maruti 800 ..Using more than 22 years
Hyundai santro using from 22 years, still running in great condition 😊
I have alto more than 20 years. So don't get overboard.
Honda just need to launch 4 models in india that they have in Thailand- WRV, HRV, BRV and CRV. But the problem with Honda is that the sales amd business is totally controlled and handled by the parent japanese officials they need to think like an indian buyer not as a japanese buyer. This same arrogant and lack of market research along with total control from the parent company resulted in the downfall of Ford, Chevy and Renault
Disagree they are thinking about Indian market as a outdated Indian car user ...that disconnects them from the market
Hope Honda India MD watches ur video blog
Cruise Control in Elevate is also offered only in top model
Yes, total shocker
Absolutely! It is pathetic. VX variant does not have normal cruise control
Amaze Manual has cruise control but automatic doesn't...
Their second top model would sell like hot cakes if a basic feature such as cruise control is offered in it.
Unaccepatble
Before buying XUV 300; I contacted to Honda showroom.. They didn't seems to be interested in selling cars.. No discount, no follow-up calls, No features explaination... Even said we will make it available will be biggest help we can do..
When will you upgrade Mr Gagan and which car you are planning to go for in 2024? Can you please make a video of Kia Carens premium optional or prestige plus iMT
I am an automobile engineer ......driving city from last 10 years....& if i purchase next car it will be again HONDA CITY.........honda cars is for passionate people.....honda cars are so reliable.......sufficient features for daily needs.......Honda cars are mechanically so strong & efficient......Indians never respect good cars.....indian love features not engine & good transmission.........pls respect honda cars they are so good.......far better tan hyundai, maruti &kia......
For any car main is engine Reliability/performance and built quality which have in honda car.....
Being mechanically strong is not an excuse to offer outdated cars. Honda regularly updates it's cars globally but they keep on offering same model in india with limited options.
Honda had hrv since forever but some genius decided to launch civic instead of that. It took them 10 years to launch elevate and even then it's launched with just one engine option. Why can't they launch turbo option to compete with creta/ kia and vw / skoda turbo suvs. Why can't they launch a hybrid option to compete with grand vitara.
Having 100 gimmicy features in car is not necessary but having engine options is a must. With time certain features also become a necessary so you need to offer them to stay competitive.
Ford made the same mistake and had to exit
Do you service it yourself?
@@aakudev at service centre
Honda cars are all rounder in terms of Safety, Dynamics, Ride quality, comfort, space, reliability, peace of mind and value for money from base variant but they are lacking in various aspects like No NCAP rating despite they also know both City and Elevate will score good or even 5 star rating..they just show internal crash test rating in the launch event but never send any car to GNCAP or BNCAP..I have suggested them multiple times on twitter but no response..
They are always late to the party but always lack behind what the customer demands..
I think they also know that their Sub4m Compact Suv won't survive in the competition because of cars like Nexon,Xuv 3XO,Sonet which already set a benchmark & they won't be able to provide more features than these cars..
But we all know honda has potential which can disrupt the competition if they learnt from their mistakes and launch Compact Suv like WRV and BRV which will surely help them to gain 15k numbers.
We believe in you Honda but try to compete with the competition not with yourself.
Honda is best of all worlds.. educated ppl ki 1st choice hai Honda
Yes sir being a City brv and wrv all three cars owner I can clearly say these cars are built to last and the dtech engine was a gem for mileage lovers vtech manual is extremely fun but....Why the CVT ? And not a good torque converter mated to a turbocharged petrol engine
Honda was the only manufacturer to offer diesel amaze with CVT it was a big big segment gap filler as still till date we crave for diesels and our family's want automatic transmission as well
Why the wrv didn't ever get a cvt ? A small thing as rear adjustable headrests in wrv are a must
Is Honda india planning to launch Malasia spec WRV under 4m length with city platform like upcoming Amaze
Today visited Honda showroom for the test drive of Honda City Hybrid. Except for Ride and space inside the car (maybe blind spot camera) really disappointed with it. Even my friend who came along with me, were greatly disappointed after hearing 25 Lakhs on road with basic features. And car with almost half the price will get you ventilated seats, power adjustment for driver seats. I am sucker for great sedans. But, I couldn't digest the fact that basic feature set for that price. My friend who came along with me got shocked to know that Honda having to sell just 4 cars ( technically 3! ). I was boasting about Honda being the premium brand infront of her, but today its literally got shattered 😢. If the durability and reliability being the USP of Honda, what are the other Japanese brands for ??
Not sure what Honda was thinking of...
Sare points sahi hai aapke, bas Honda ke bachav me itna hi kahana hai ki reliability durability to hai hi comfort hai aur ek accha ADAS hai, bas nam ka nhi.
Sach kahe to features ek lalach hai jitna ho itana kam lagta hai, electronic element jitna Kam ho utana sukoon rahta hai. Parents ke jamane ki purani tv 20-20 years se chal Rahi hai, aur Aaj ki TV 5 years me hi dhokha Dene lagti hai😂
In my opinion honda is not doing bad instead market is going opposite to them. They offered adas in 12.70 lakhs city. They offered the best engine and best features in city with price but people are going for suv which honda is still laging in 4m car. Its all about mindset. They will never exit india mark my words
Well same happened to Nokia..they did not do any wrong but failed....same will happen to Honda ..if they don't align to customers expectations...
@@raoragh nope, honda is not doing bad instead they are not giving gimic features, tell me a car with adas under 20 lakh. Honda gave it in honda city under 12.5 lakhs. Best engine in 15 lakhs that can beat all the cars under 15 lakhs. They lag gimic features like ventilated seats, 360 camera etc which is more preferred in india rather than safety and drivability. They are doing great apart from india. Still 4th largest seller in world. Indian audience has no knowledge of cars right nowadays. They follow trend,
@@rapperhd2313fuck don’t find points just to back Honda ! Is sunroof a safety feature instead they could have given ventilated seats ! They are offering it as an accessory same with tpms They are making us fools
Gagan ji
Honda still considers India a developing country and Indians only consideration is mileage.
Your video should be an Eye opener for Honda India and hope they will change their attitude towards India and consider Indian market to be niche and aspiring and change fast for the better.
❤
Spoken like someone who is truly hurting for Honda because he loves Honda
When will honda city new generation come any idea???
I totally agree with your analysis on Honda Gagan Ji, satyanarayana yellina visakhapatnam IAF retd
Sir is there a dent issue in Honda cars?
Honda City owner since 2018....
This is all rounder car and I am in love with it...
In future I would like to stick with same brand but your points are genuine..
What are the options
Fully agree with you. Me too am waiting for Elevate with strong hybrid
I think no hybrid is coming for elevate! Only ev based on elevate is coming
Agree completely. I'm not even keen on lifestyle features, but six airbags and 1L turbo-charged engines are big misses, considering their pricing.
I was waiting for the new WRV but it seems they'll bring it with 1.2L naturally aspirated engine, the same one used in Amaze and I'm reconsidering. Again, expected pricing at 9-13 lacs with lesser features and no engine options, isn't going to get them market share.
Correct sir, I was also expecting panaromic sunroof. Because of small sunroof I rejected Elevate.
Sir - can you please make analysis video on Skoda/VW as well?
Which car u used sir?
I always like your honest reviews ji, Fully in sync with your thoughts, you are giving free advise to HONDA. Hope Honda is listening , i am a HONDA customer since 2004, they need to up the game. why are they not bringing RAV 4 to India?
I completely agree with you. Honda's pricing high with less features though their engines are very good but customers also want latest features so they avoid to purchase Honda cars. I have Jazz 2017 model. It's very good car but costly also.
Good video and insights provided. Agree with all the points made. Thanks for sharing
Perfect assessment... Honda had an upper hand in case of reliability and had it brought latest technology in engine tuning and suspension it wud have ruled
I completely agree with you as I was a city and civic owner.misses in turbocharged vehicles and gearing has made me move out of Honda. Honda management should move out of the thoughts process that India is 3rd world economy. Today I buy a Crete, Vitara or seltos is because of the features offered in petrol diesel and choice of transmission
turbo charge engines ki khaamio se vaakif nahi lagte saahab 🤣🤣
thode din chaloge pta chal jaega 🤣🤣 good luck in City driving
Really impressed with your observations , so perfect !
Indian car buyers clearly lack understanding of the term quality. But at the same time, Honda also takes the blame for not innovating according to emerging trends and desires. One major suicidal move was the decision to do away with the diesel engine. Secondly, Honda's decision to go along with a a ridiculously chrome heavy front looks which looks just the same for its sedan line up, is great turn off. It deprives a model of its individual appeal. Honda also needs to be a lot more committed to it's model line up and its customers. For all it may try, Honda will never really be able to explain why it withdrew the fantastic CRV. And why something like the Honda WRV was discontinued. And yes, nit having a turbo charger is like shooting yourself in the feet!
You are just spot on... You analysis has always been great... Very very indepth knowledge... And you are impartial... I own Amaze 2019...I thought of upgrading to City, not Elevate ... But now I am seriously thinking of shifting from Honda..... Hope Honda management comes to know about your observation... I am still a Honda lover...
Very very well said.. Elevate should come with Hybrid Sooner ASAP. And one Compact SUV
Sir , I can clearly see your love for Honda Cars and the facts you have highlighted are very true.Honda Should upgrade tgeir cars eith more features with price similar to their competitors
Good one sir.... I purchased Amaze after searching according to my budget(under 10 lakh) for 5months...my requirements were safety, engine refinement and space... I thus moved to Amaze... But i feel.. Androis wireless carplay, 6 airbags should be there in the top model atleast...
I am using Amaze Mar 2020 model they should introduce dual injection like dezire
I want a GDI engine for performance but marketing staff says Honda will not offer third party product
Honda team if you are watching this, just give us a strong hybrid petrol car within 15 lacs with few practical feature upgrades such as:
1) Series-hybrid engine setup
2) Ventilated seats
3) 360 camera + blind view
4) Dual zone a/c controls
5) Back seat A/c controls separate
6) Sliding blinders
7) Proper TPMS
8) HUD display
9) Type C charging, front + back
10) 6 airbags
11) All 4 Disc brakes
I can't agree more. Beautifully explained Honda Cars. It will be extremely sad to loose Honda from Indian market.
kudos that you acknowledged that honda is in its last era in india and its almost maybe over for honda.
Had booked an elevate. The features in each trim level and price difference and choice of necessary features/absence of same made me cancel my booking. Don't think company honchos take Indian customers seriously now. May be they think they don't owe Indian customers what they offer outside. May be govt policy too might have helped them ignore these.
In tropical Kerala I dont need a sun roof, but need automatic with folding OVRM all.disk brakes and six air bags for which I must opt for top.model with ADAS which in Indian roads are still confusing. Comparing with other.models I found the options very pricy and hence moved away.
Honda don’t want to listen to customer feedback, learn from Kia who listened to Indian customers before launching Seltos in India and launched it with features as per customer survey. Honda is stubborn, I think this may be the last chance for Honda India. Brio discontinued, Brv discontinued, Accord discontinued, Crv discontinued, Civic discontinued, WRV discontinued. Soon Honda may be discontinued.
I have 10 years old Amaze,no nonsense great car.
In this video I am absolutely agree with your each and every point.
I just can't understand, what we are wanting from Honda, the management is not considered since so many years and launching new models so lately without features.
Absolutely correct sir ! I am using honda brio. Awesome car
What Honda offered in crv in usa like gps , was not given in crv in India even in later models
As a Honda owner & well wisher too and having similar thoughts , I 💯 Agree with everything mentioned in this video. If Honda does it all, they could still be a phoenix. Infact, I'm looking forward for an Elevate or Elevate 7 seater with tgeir hybrid powertrain.
All points are very related to current issues with Honda in India,. Used Brio it was great, currently using Amaze & City, It's excellent.
Honda seriously need good strategists for Indian market.
Gagan Bhai.
Honda aise hi chalegi. They won't change. After seeing so much of changes in the Market trend their Indian management is not able to maneuver their Japanese team' on this.
They still haven't learnt from Maruti. Hyundai. Tata and now Mahindra as examples
I totally agree with you , you hit the nail on the head .
Perfect. Just love Honda engines and their cars.
They should watch this video and learn market trend.
kindly look into how many Amazes are sold every month
i see 20+ brand new Amazes EVERYDAY
since 2023
Yes I fully agree. Iam using JAZZ S variant since 2016. It’s almost eight years. Now they do not have varieties and are left out with only three models. As clearly thought by you iam too apprehensive that they may prove dark horse in leaving India or perhaps planning so.
Even Fronx and Venue offer Turbo GDI engines.
Honda is very much alive , next 12 months will be a game changer for Honda...
❤❤❤
Not without six airbags and engine options. For instance, if they bring WRV with 1.2L naturally aspirated engine and not price it well below Venue/Sonet/Brezza, I don't see too many buyers. Just changing external looks won't be enough.
PS: I sincerely hope what you are saying happens, because I already have a Honda car in my family and have liked their cars for a long time in the past.
Ghanta
Very good sugessions.
Send it to Honda Cars India Limited
All the points you made are basic common sense. I am amazed at Honda management's inability to figure it out.
They know only to charge premium on their brand name. Now that they have compromised on quality, still they want premium, who will give it? Watch their service costs.
They forgot, why their brand was initially appreciated, what's the reason, comfort, and quality...at price but now they forgot the first two
Gagan paji, mai Citroen C3 Aircross lene ka soch raha hoon. But I am worried about their sales and their future in India. Aap please uspe ek video banao. Majhe bahut achchhi lagi C3 Aircross. Aap jaise UA-camrs companies ko aisi positive feedback denge to shayad kuch badal sakta hai.
Number one point is airbags is not a luxury commodity or a lavishly used accessories. This should be made compulsory in all cars without which registration must not be allowed. If not stop putting fine on wearing helmets also
Honda's though knee room is good but under thigh support is bad ..front seats movement is limited to increase knee room for rear seats and steering adjustable but during ingress/egress touches the knees when set properly and Ac cooling is decent at Best not chilly as Mahindra and Toyota or even Tata.Engine NA is good but only performs at higher rpms in real world only mid range matters ..
Bang on Mr Gagan… will tag this video too…👍👍👍
Jazz was also the firs hatchback to get sunroof
As well as City was the first sedan car to get sunroof
Don't you think foreign OEMs are not being aggressive towards India because of the way passenger cars are taxed.
Correct
Also the way Indian consumers behave 😂
Like they always decide to go with Suzuki 😅
@@sudhirgovilkar1280they go after Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, toyota and Kia also who understand the customer needs and update their products accordingly.
@@abhishekjain3213 Have you ever used Honda cars? Go, try and feel it... You'll fall in love immediately.
I'm using Honda Amaze VX CVT Elite edition, they're giving me CVT gearbox with paddle shifters, iVTEC 4 cylinder refined, noisless and smooth engine, 4 stars safety with ACE body structure, 420 litres of boot space, ample leg room with minimum hump in second row, Keyless entry, Auto ORVM, Auto headlights, Leatherette seat covers, good quality materials, not hanky fanky but got smooth alpine make 7" display supporting wired Android auto/Apple Carplay/ Web link with zero lags, wireless charger, central arm rest with storage, powerfull AC, etc.
No other manufacturers are giving such kind of specs in sub 4 meters sedan cars or at that price range.
CVT with paddle shifters features are like cherries on the top of the cake.
Then why kia became so successful 😂with this logic 👿
I desperately wanted to buy Amaze . I had 12 yrs old DZIRE (diesel). Since I live in Delhi NCR government has become strict on diesel cars. I could not wait for amaze and bought tata nexon today only. If honda would have given 6 airbags like other cars I would definitely have bought amaze today.
I own a Honda city cvt,v.good car, with excellent fuel efficiency, comfortable, and excellent AC; what else does one want.Good fir long distance also.Gives almost same mileage as manual
You are absolutely correct Sir,
True ...maintenance is comparatively high ....
Agree to your suggestion...honda lags market by many years...I m using honda city zx for 18 years & can't find anything better
I am fully insync with your thoughts.
is it advisable to get 2nd hand Brio VXAT 2014 model @ 3.5 lakhs (mumbai) in 2024 ?
Yes
Sir, Observation bilkul Sahi Hai, Lekin down the line ek cheez rok rahi hai, Jo mujhe lagti hai Bahot saalau se, Cost effectiveness, Honda Cars Competative pricing me nahi bech sakti, Isiliyeah compition me rehne ke liyeah Hona Cars me Features ki Cost cutting Hoti hai...
I'm also a honda owner during the last 8 years. Sir, I also agreed with you. HONDA manager should watch this video and review their business strategy in the Indian market.
Absolutely correct...all points are really relevant...
Honda brc cvt 2019 model....i got this car... amazing smooth experience
Service network and open market availablity of spare parts is the most crucial aspect to succeed in India
apne bilkul sahi kaha. mere mama ke pass BR-V tha. mujhe bhi 7 seater lene ka man tha.Sochatha updated norms wala model lunga. achanak BS6 se bandh ho gaya. it was very disappointing.
Perfect points as usual Gagan Sir. You're a industry Rock Star. As a owner of Honda cars from last 5 years, and, previous owner of MS for 11 years and Toyota for 3 years...i can confidently say Honda matches Toyota in reliability but is much better in performance than Toyota.
I have the exact same thoughts on reasons why Honda is lagging behind. Needless to say - it's extremely disappointing. I fully support your idea - as a representative and auto industry expert, please do your best to give this message to Honda India. I hope they wake up, and, expedite product development and enhancements.
This is what happens when you hire high-paid Ivy League MBAs, Honda is on the verge of becoming like Ford.
Koun si company hire nhi kar rahi😅
Dude common... Honda has stopped their Gujarat plant but they are not selling it and have openly said they'll use it again once they have enough new product which will be export based like elevate...
Why are you blaming Honda?
They launched all the global Products in India which Indians didn't want to buy like hrv, crv etc...
Govt brings new emissions suddenly which japanese company can't implement it because they make engine for 20 years bracket... Mazda openly said they don't want to enter India for this reason...
Toyota had to join suzuki and launch rebranded suzuki to stay in business...but they are steadily bringing their own products and toyota is working on new production line in bangalore...
Honda is not leaving India and they have already said it... They have changed their strategy and want India to be export hub just like volkswagen and skoda(they want to make India export hub for 3rd world market)...
Honda elevate is first Honda car to be made in India fully and it's sold in Japan as wrv..
Saying elevate is failure is complete joke...
Amaze is getting facelift this year...
is it a good thing or bad (becoming ford)
@@spider-plant6176 ..well, It's bad for us as consumers. Fewer options to choose from.
This has come from the heart of true Honda lover... ❤
Very nice observation sir ji. Excellent study.
Absolutely all are valid points..they should realize the facts and market basis
Very truly analyzed; hope Honda listens.
I had been a customer of Honda Cars since 1999 with the first gen City, Then changed to 2nd gen in 2004 and 3rd Gen 2010. Meanwhile had a Brio also for city errands. But finally after Honda started losing the plot, i shifted over to Hyundai and VW products from 2015 onwards. Often wonder why Honda has not introduced its wide range of Intn'l products, instead it discontinued some very capable products like the Jazz, WRV, BRV and Civic by just not keeping them in tune with time. If this continues, we are not far off from the time when Honda will be history in India. Very sad state of management
No backseat headrest.
Engine premium hai... Bas wohi USP hai as per Honda 😅
I am totally with you. I have a 2012 jazz. I know what you saying
Every word is true. I am a honda owner & I strongly agree.
Why ADAS is in only top Variant of elevate? Whereas city has it in 2nd base😢
U r ok.
I m also interested in purchasing Elevate or City. But in a duel mind.
Go for elevate - it is great car if you don't mind about all the bells and whistles.
Perfectly explained!
i can understand ur frustration n so do i.. i m a big fan of Honda n i have honda City…. civic n accord was by childhood dream but now those dreamzz hve evaporated long back..
My DAD frequently travels to Europe n north America and always insist me to buy CRV coz every American have them well. we dont hve CRV nor we hve civic n either Indian youth hve any excitement towards Honda
excitement is there for Honda... ppl r not well informed.. they don't know wat a proper car is... they go for iPad screens and looks.. wen a car is much more than dashboards and heated seats
Grahak ke pass Maruti lene ke alwa koi option hi nahi hai.... Kya kare.... Honda apne app ko market se kill kar rahi hai..... City flop, Amaze flop and now Elevate.😢
Yes I agree to you
I do agree, even I wanted to tweet. They should bring all international their legendary cars to India with Hybrid variant. CRV, ZRV, HRV and the none other than CIVIC !
Gagan aapne sahi bola honda cars ke baare mein ause hi information share karte rahiye
very well made compliation of questions.. @HONDACARSINDIA please address this. You are making cars with such a good margin and profits why just stay with reliability factor when you are show your brand value..
sir, very deep and fact wording you say
