Loved Nan Pierce “this money talk is disgusting” while squeezing them for 10 billion 😂
She's Hypocrite
More disgusting than the Brothers Tom and Greg?
I love how she played both sides like fiddles
Nan Pierce is the greatest villain in succession.
“Who wants to smell Greg’s finger?” Was a wilddd line 😭😭😭
The only disappoinment from this scene is they didnt show how greg told logan about that lmao
Nah that's what makes it more interesting, we know how it went we can picture it perfectly @@RDwatchYTtoo
Loved the part where they negotiate calling Logan to wish him a happy birthday like a business deal.
OK, you can pop it back in your mouth now. 🤣
"Marcia's not here. She's shopping in Milan. Forever." 😂😂
It's quite beautifully tragic that Shiv and Tom's marriage at their best is when it's ending. Their hand holding was the most intimate scenes between the 2.
damn, that fact just hit me
I wholeheartedly disagree. The hand holding does not outweigh the complete stone wall between them when Tom tries to actually communicate. They're relationship has only degraded since the engagement.
“Where’s your kids?” 💀💀
i wish greg clapped back just at least once, just to show how far he has come from season 1
Where's your dad?
Where is your old man?
Savage line 😂 of course Logan was ready for it with his own savagery.
@@adriangutierrez3196 did you see the episode? That was him clapping back. Like literally that exact line.
“Did you rummage to fruition?” was such a wild line 😂
The last ten minutes were so good! The whole conversation was so painful yet beautiful, I almost cried.
i cried... :(
Shiv was begging inside for Tom to say something along the lines of one last chance. It was actually heartbreaking to see Tom giving up and Shiv following through
Too little too late on her part.
Show will be going out on top, this episode was amazing. Everything so on point and sharp.
What a fantastic premiere, I was at the edge of my seat with the Pierce dispute and loved seeing the siblings united again. Every interaction was so well written as usual
It was a bit boring tbh
@@spacecadet2172 this genuinely isn’t me talking down to you, but if you found that scene boring then this show probably isn’t for you. That was right up there with some of the best business tension moments in the series, but this still isn’t The Mandalorian. It’s kind of like Mad Men, some people just find this type of storytelling boring and that’s fine.
@@nicholassmieleski9710 No, this episode was boring. I have enjoyed the first three seasons immensely. They have done scenes like that to death, and they have become meaningless. There was nothing new or exciting about it at all. We have seen that same scene 100 times by now. It's just rinse and repeat. Sounds like you are fangirling hard at the show being back and this is clouding your objectivity. The best part of the episode was the Tom and Greg and the Tom and Shiv dynamics. The business stuff was a snooze fest and unoriginal.
@@spacecadet2172 Disagree, the business portions are what the show is practically built on and I would have hated to suddenly see them go. Loved both the personal dynamics and the business scenes this ep.
@@spacecadet2172 i'm with you, this episode didn't feel like a Succession episode at all.
It looked like another show pretending to be Succession.
Massive shout out to Matthew Macfadyen, Sarah Snook, and Mark Mylod. The scene of the two of them(Tom and Shiv) towards the end of the episode was truly remarkable. My standout moment of the entire episode. All in all, fantastic season opener.
Brian Cox deserves all the awards
Has there ever been anyone more perfect for a roll? I don't think so.
@@brenden9758 Really? lord almighty.. Well, he is absolutely fantastic, but dude.. he is not the most perfect cast of all time lol.
Finally someone is saying this
This episode blew me away. Such an amazing show that its sad to see it end.
By far some of the most memorable and relatable characters on TV right now
Props to the Pierces for setting that deadline of really wanting to get the deal done today and putting that time crunch on Logan and his kids. Got 10 billion out of it 💰 💰 💰
I thought $10bn was a bit much considering Logan mentioned £6bn opening offer
Bold of you to assume this will go through. Logan can still torpedo the GoJo sale to torpedo the kids money. Or if not that then whatever he needs to do. Anything can happen.
@@frenchdna3727 Logan looks like he lost his mojo - but then again he probably get it back in the next episode especially if he is giving a motivational speech to the staff
@@エラー-e7v they said 7 to start was insulting and then logan went 6 as a power play. the company was probably worth 8-9. but if the kids had bid less than 10 (or frankly, if logan had started at 8), the pierces would have kept entertaining both offers - but the immediate jump to 10b at that moment was basically paying for a faster end to the negotiation
@@tabaxi think it will fall apart especially with the GoJo deal not necessarily 100% cert
Connor wanting to drop 100 million to keep his 1 percent in the polls was priceless
Matthew deserves an Emmy for that ending scene alone
it was phenomenal
He’s got one
Sarah does too! The way the anger and hurt was subtly visible on her face without her saying munch was incredible.
@@Eline_K agree. Career defining performance
“Karl, do you have any jokes?” Amazing episode
@mehran3593 Karl didn't say anything it was Frank
So glad to see the Roys back for one last season
Greg super sly move to make himself look bad but really got time with Logan and probably setting Tom up, since he's not "Family"
Logan has dehumanized everyone around him except his children.
The way Brian Cox explained how he thinks Logan wishes he didn't love his children was amazing.
The episode was quite fulfilling as a premiere.
No
It was a sad episode. Logan only wanted all of his kids under one roof. To me: this episode shows you can push people too far. I think Rome is scared of losing his family. And that means Logan, too.
Writing in this show is superb. I have no idea how it going to end, and I don't know what would be the best conclusion to this story. Because I want for all of them to win and to fail at the same time.
Tom and Shivs real accents crack me up
"Do you really want to get into a full accounting of all the pain in our marriage?". Oof.
Tom and shiv better get an emmy for this
Sarah Snook take all awards for sure!
my favourite part of the 1st episode, and one i've not seen much talk about, is the moment where Greg and his date are talking to Connor and Willa. Willa and Gregs date move almost identically and look VERY similar. It doesn't mean much beyond the obvious, but I liked it.
It was so nice to watch the Roy siblings working like a team.
It won’t last
Yes, but seeing them win so early in the season has me worried. Love this show.
Brian Cox is a genius, that man! What a phenomenal performance all throughout the series. Eagerly waiting for the rest of the episodes
Up until now, it was hard to feel empathy for Logan Roy. Seeing his emotions come out even when he's trying his best to conceal them was such a great performance.
He's a bad guy, but I realize he is a man that's driven by emotions he desperate to not feel and can't go against his own personal rationale. Such a fantastic in-depth character. I'm just blown away
I missed the dynamic of the siblings together 🥹🧡
It’s so brilliant it hurts
I like the way the offer just had to be in round numbers. Roman was right. What’s wrong with $9.5 billion?
Logan had offered 9.5b they could have kept bidding...10billion ended the convo
I always forget McFayden is English
Odd to hear Sarah Snook interview in her native Australian accent, too. They really have the American intonations down perfectly when in character.
I like the idea that the Family has a Culture, and showing the dynamics through that.
Watch the blood sugar.
As a payback to force Franco and the viewers into much ado😂😂
I really love the contrast between Logan Roy’s family when the Pierce deal is on was sublime. Logan’s business family(Karl, Gerri, Tom and Frank) setting and atmosphere is soooo dark and depressed. On the other hand, Logan’s real family(the kids) setting is really bright and energetic.
The contrast from the first episode of the series where Logan is upset that Kendall WENT to his birthday instead of doing his business to now Logan wishing they were all there is pretty funny and ironic.
After this is all over I’d really love a spin-off with Tom and Greg. That is all.
there should be spin-offs definitely
Assuming they're alive at the end of it?
it was strange seeing Logan so outspoken. He wasn't himself somehow.
A lot of his power relies on permanently having his kids at his total disposition and playing the manipulation game. For me, that missing part was what didn't feel like him, and I love seeing him from this new angle.
Man how are they gonna end this show? So many ways it could go
❤❤❤❤ love this show so much!!!! Definitely the best!!!!
Roy sibs for the win
The thing I can't stop thinking about is, HOW does Armstrong top THIS? I mean this show is as perfect as screenwriting can possibly go
@callmecatalyst i surely am but it's rare for someone to write a consistently brilliant show that is nearly perfect in every way. That's why I am hyped, yes, but also anxious whether / for how long he will stay on top form. And there's the added pressure of really high expectations for his next project
What an absolutely fantastic first episode to kick off the final season. It's bittersweet that it's ending, but I can't wait to see what else is in store for this final season.
it's wild.. it's wilding!!!
I bet Logan knew off Next Gen Roys going after Pierce. Too smart not to
My heart will be torn at the Emmys with House of the Dragon, the last of us and succession competing. Thankfully white lotus is in a different category.
TomGregg chemistry flying off the charts 😂💯🔥
Gojo sale done. Pierce purchase binding
Funniest shot on TV. But also brutal ,sad, clever and funny again.
I wish all episodes would be released at once.
When the show is this good, the only thing you could actually say is "Masterpiece"!!!!!
“Have you heard from the rats?”
I don’t understand what changed in the Pierce family, why did they choose to be bought by Logan after all that happened, after he was left chasing their car. Because in that moment, it was clear that it wasn’t about the money. And now, they simply give in. It feels rushed and forced.
It is about the money its always was, but shes so self righteous that her ego got in the way the first time, she was gonna get 25 bill the first time around, but when she flaked logan said she was turning down a great deal and that she’ll never get a deal like that again, fast forward and shes later still willing to sell to logan or the kids for much less, she always wanted to sell her ego just got in the way the first time and cost her 15 bill
You misread it. It’s completely about the money. Nan is just ashamed to admit it. And the divorce of one of the kids made holding on untenable
Disgusting bros all the wayyyy
Would be a shame if Logan Roy literally faced his own mortality.
I enjoy the inclusion of The Hundred as an undercooked scheme which some moneyed neophyte kids think will challenge the status quo, be a hot new thing on the scene to get the zoomers interested in an old product. I suspect Jesse Armstrong is a cricket fan.
I am shocked Tom still doesn't know Shiv knows.
He does know
I forget how many of these actors don’t have American accents in real life
It's back
So glad he died alone with no family around him. 👋
Another wonderful episode. I am fearing Logan behind the screen. I feels so sad for Tom and Shiv. Apparently they still love each other a lot disbite the things they did to each other. I really hope there's more interaction between them. Loosing the p&p deal twice sure is a big defeat for Logan. It's the first time I feel he is actually losing.
banger show.
"New Gen Royce" - cashed up, hungry but somehow still dumber than the last-gen model 🤣
The only thing I have to say to this is : Connor Roy was interested in politics from a very young age
Mark sounds like Herzog. It tickles my brain.
I have NEVER been so excited for a new series of a show on TV. Days building up to it I watched season 1-3 and it’s just fantastic. The cinematography is amazing
will there pre succession prequel?
Anyone know the restaurant that Logan and Colin are eating at in the Season 4 premiere?
Good start. Cousin Greg where’s your finger been at? Think Gregg might be the one or a combo of Gregg and Tom to get to the the top.
Is "Munsters" a commonly used word in the US? I've never heard of it. From the context, I guess it means something like "bores," or "boring, bland sycophants"?
It’s a reference to the 1960s television show The Munsters
It’s an allusion referencing an old TV show
How though? I don’t get the connection. Sorry 🙈
@@a.girl.has.no.name_ how what? It was a sitcom about a wholesome family of monsters (kind of like the Addams family). Logan mentioned them in the episode after his partygoers sang happy birthday, maybe bc he’s surrounded by friends who act cheery around him but are actually monsters.
@@yesquite Thanks. I'm not a native speaker, and google proved misleading...
great start to the season! so sad to see it go though.
Great episode and great video
It’s was alright.

Boy, I love this show

DISGUSTIBUS
Such a laggy app, sometimes link shows, sometimes not, movies keep lagging so much,so many bugs in this app, maybe that's why it's rating is very low😂
I know it's sounds crazy but i would love to see Nan Pierce with her own show. I love the character
Shark has been jumped
Hmm. When and how exactly...(?)
Terrible episode
Shoutout to HBO for giving us banger after banger every single month 👌🏽🫡
This episode was everything I was hoping for and more! Bravo, guys. Damn.🤌
