All right. In orthodontics, gaining space is one of the fundamental needs to align teeth. You can basically gain space through posterior arch expansion, incisors and canines proclination, and interproximal reduction. Hi. I got an IPR done my the lower set of teeth as there was crowding and overlap. And a slight overlap in the upset teeth as well however it didn't need an IPR. I wanted to retract the upper teeth as I feel it's slightly protruding. Like just a tad bit it's not very evident but the doc says an IPR can't be done if we have done it in the lower teeth. Is it true. Does the cap created in the lower teeth affect the upper teeth as well.? Would be great if you could respond asap as I will have to take further steps based on what I find out
