Thank you. Yours was the first video that didn’t gloss over taking the speaker from the door. I was unaware there’d be glue holding it along with the lone screw and plastic tabs.
Dude thank you so much for doing this! I have a 13 as well and want to do this! A couple questions, what size speakers did you buy? And where did you get the adapters to connect the speakers? Thank you again!
Bombitas18 Go onto www.crutchfield.com and they will give you the exact speakers and adapters. I put in the year, make, and model of the car and then picked the speakers of my choice. They make it very easy.
+Kevin Otanez It's funny you ask, because the video will be posted next Wednesday (April 27th). I just posted the unboxing video for the rear speakers today (ua-cam.com/video/5khCVuKQYik/v-deo.html).
hey man, great video!!! I was wondering if you have a video on how to change the tweeters. My passenger side is rattling and I guess I gotta change it and as well, do you have a video on how to install a sub and amp in a 2015 honda civc touring.
+Jay Sanchez Hello Jay Sanchez. My Civic is the EX model, so I do not have the tweeters where yours is located. The closest thing I have to and amp and subwoofer install is my powered sub install. Feel free to check it out. The wireing from the battery to the amp will be the same. ua-cam.com/video/PSfkVzQVlSg/v-deo.html
I have an 06' civic and my right speaker is messed up. I want to put new quality speakers from kicker. will they work and fit fine? is it the same process for the 06 civic?
+Galaxy Way I just looked it up and found, "This DOOR SPEAKER is a genuine OEM Honda part #39120-TR0-A51"(www.hondapartshq.com/oe-honda/39120tr0a51?origin=pla&gclid=CjwKEAjwxoG5BRCC7ezlzNmR8HUSJAAre36jIbDoOtEviCBsM_gzKwV-uNFFz6bGR6hvgXRKB-ZEZxoC9ZLw_wcB).
I just bought me some new speakers from crutchfield. My civic is a 13 coupe ex with the tweeters by the dash. Well my new speakers have tweeters on them so will that be a problem??
+Cluengineer i got me the rockford fosgate prime 3 way speakers. My civic has tweeters already on the front pillars so i don't know how its gonna affect the overall sound. Plus the civic coupe has bigger doors. Do you think the install might be harder?
I also Installed the rear speakers as well: ua-cam.com/video/WLEALsjoGQk/v-deo.html These are the speakers I bought amzn.to/2flMENm In general, I think aftermarket speakers really needs an amp as well because the head unit is limiting the amount of power it can send to the speaker. But I do believe it sounds better.
I have a 2013 civic LX, I got an amp and a subwoofer installed already. Is it worth upgrading the stock speakers? Would the stock radio be able to handle all of this? And are there any good speakers you would recommend?
If you feel the stock speakers sound good to you. I would stick with those. If you are putting an amp to the speakers I would recommend new speakers that can handle more power to them. Here is what I used amzn.to/2flMENm and they are great. Its been almost 2 years and there has not been an issue.
John Johnson I would call local shops around your area or call crutchfield to see if they are the same size speakers and connectors as the 2014. If that is the case, than you can order the 2014 speaker option for your 2015 civic. Mostlikley they are the same size.
There is a noticeable difference in the bass However, it is not a BIG difference. The speakers sound way better than the stock OEM speakers that come with the car. I hope this answers your question.
Generally the kickers have pretty good bass to them in my experience. Most after market speakers will have a significant improvement over the OEM set up. I would spend at the minimum of $25 per speaker. If you are looking for a lot of bass out of your audio system select a smaller level of compression for your music files (google this), replace your OEM head unit (I don't prefer that), and an amplifier to create way better sound. Its all about what you want out of your audio system. I also purchased a powered subwoofer for $100 on ebay which makes a lot of bass for the money. Here is the sub if your interested. (ua-cam.com/video/PSfkVzQVlSg/v-deo.html)
This is a very good question. This answer is not as easy as saying yes and no. It depends on what you are looking for with your sound quality. When the stock and aftermarket speakers are playing at a moderate volume I do not notice much of an improvement. When I turn the stereo way up and the song has a lot of high and low frequencies that is when I notice the aftermarket speaker is holding up better than the stock speakers. If I were to do it again, I would buy a 5 channel amplifier, a subwoofer, and keep the speakers stock until they couldn't handle the power. They may never fail but who knows. The speaker set up isn't even that expensive anyway; at most the four speakers cost about $150. All in all, I do notice a difference in quality without an amplifier especially when I start blasting the tunes.
I wish someone with an 12 and up Si would do a speaker install since we already have tweeters. I want to know what to do with the stock tweeters. Guess that means forum trolling to find the answer.
Pretty good, not audiophile quality, but not bad. I have non nav and would like to add a better sub and new speakers with and amp and keep the head unit. The little sub has some bass and depending on the frequency I can get the mirrors to vibrate.
The best instruction I think on UA-cam! Clear and Very detailed!
Xuliang Zhang wow, thank you so much for the positive feedback!
CluEngineer I’ve just changed 4 JBL speakers for my 2013 civic. Sound quality does improve a lot! Thank you very much for your detailed instruction!
I plan on replacing my stock speakers in my 13 civic and couldn't find any videos but yours, thanks man!
bimastrike87 I am glad you enjoyed it. That is why I made the video because there wasn't a video for this exact year/model.
Thank you. Yours was the first video that didn’t gloss over taking the speaker from the door. I was unaware there’d be glue holding it along with the lone screw and plastic tabs.
I've noticed that too. Many how to videos gloss over the parts that I actually need. I'm glad this video was not the case
You should make a video for the rear speakers
Thank you for the straightforward installation steps.
Dante Lee you are welcome!
Really great video! Will try this out, thank you for also linking everything, super helpful.
Jaida Stallworth you are welcome. Hope you have good luck with your project.
Any videos of an amplifier and subwoofer installation? Thanks dude. ☺️
oh yeah, ua-cam.com/video/PSfkVzQVlSg/v-deo.html
Hey, Is there room to put tweeters in that door? I have 6.5 JL's with separate tweeters. Thank you.
Thanx for the video man, it should be similar process on the 2016
Waiting for Tweeters Video Installation. Thank you. Like it
Thanks man! I used your video to help create one of my own for a 2014 model. Gave you credit, hope that's ok. :)
Gabriela Chiquito Thank you. What is the link to the video? Would like to see it.
Awesome video, now need the read speaker how-to XD
+HT You asked and here it is. ua-cam.com/video/WLEALsjoGQk/v-deo.html
No need to use new wire ? What is the gauge of that wire? I'm putting an 4 channel amp so I wonder if that wire will do it
Thank you for making this video. I also want to know, how to replace the front tweeter. Can you make that video? thanks again.
Very useful does the mounting bracket come with the speakers ?
Also what size drill did you use to drill the holes for the mounting

awesome vid bro really helped, but do you have a rear speaker install video? for the same civic?
+Kevin Otanez It's funny you ask, because the video will be posted next Wednesday (April 27th). I just posted the unboxing video for the rear speakers today (ua-cam.com/video/5khCVuKQYik/v-deo.html).
+Kevin Otanez I just uploaded the rear speaker install video. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/WLEALsjoGQk/v-deo.html
Thank you for the interest!

+Cluengineer I have a 2014 EX and it does come with 2 tweeters.
Kenpachi Thats sweet! Are they located on the a-pillars?
I have a '14 si. are the front door speakers the same as the rear speakers?
thanks and awesome video! good explanation!
Is your car the coupe or sedan? Does it have navigation?
+Cluengineer sedan and no navi
Yes. You can order the same speakers for the front and rear of the car.
+Cluengineer awesome, thanks again!
Omar Mateo You are welcome.
Are you running those speakers on the factory deck? Is the factory speakers also 4ohms?
I have an 06' civic and my right speaker is messed up. I want to put new quality speakers from kicker. will they work and fit fine? is it the same process for the 06 civic?
They are similar but they are in a different generation. Take a look on youtube and search 2006 Honda Civic speaker replacement.
what are the size of the frontal speakers?
im looking for aftermarket speakers, with nice bass. front and rear.
would you recommend me something?
For the front, I would recommend amzn.to/2flMENm
For the rear, amzn.to/2gfS8rP
Here is my rear install video: ua-cam.com/video/WLEALsjoGQk/v-deo.html
do you know what is the part number for the stock speaker I have a 2012 civic ex driver side speaker went out?

I found it thanks for the response.
Great video. What kind of screws did you use?
Anthony Tye Thank you! The stews were included with the new speakers.
I just bought me some new speakers from crutchfield. My civic is a 13 coupe ex with the tweeters by the dash. Well my new speakers have tweeters on them so will that be a problem??
I don not know what speakers you purchased but it should not be a problem anyways.
+Cluengineer i got me the rockford fosgate prime 3 way speakers. My civic has tweeters already on the front pillars so i don't know how its gonna affect the overall sound. Plus the civic coupe has bigger doors. Do you think the install might be harder?
You should be alright. I don't think it will hurt. The door panel should be a similar process too. Good luck!
+Cluengineer yeah. I only got 2 speakers. Just replacing the front one like u did. I think you got the rockfords too? Do you like the overall sound?
I also Installed the rear speakers as well: ua-cam.com/video/WLEALsjoGQk/v-deo.html

Ash H ... Memphis Audio car speakers ....
What size are the speakers you are putting new on there?
+Gino Veras Rodriguez 6.5 inches
I have a 2015 civic, crutchfield doesn't have that as an option. They only have options up to 2014.
John Johnson I would call local shops around your area or call crutchfield to see if they are the same size speakers and connectors as the 2014. If that is the case, than you can order the 2014 speaker option for your 2015 civic. Mostlikley they are the same size.
(Civic 2010) how much watts is the stock front speaker? thanks.
18-22 watts
Is that speaker good for bass. I'm thinking about picking it up.
With the stock head unit it is okay. It can hold up to some high bass songs without getting distorted.
Like by okay, is the bass pretty loud? im not talking sub expectations, i just want speakers for good bass
There is a noticeable difference in the bass However, it is not a BIG difference. The speakers sound way better than the stock OEM speakers that come with the car. I hope this answers your question.
+Cluengineer it does, thanks man, do you know of any speakers that pack a lot of bass that you would recommend? I'm buying some tomorrow lol

Did you do the tweeters in dash?
+65mcar No, the tweeters are connected to the speaker.
What year is your car?
where did you get the adapter
Crutchfield includes them when you purchase speakers.
I wish someone with an 12 and up Si would do a speaker install since we already have tweeters. I want to know what to do with the stock tweeters. Guess that means forum trolling to find the answer.
ryan sellars How is the SI stock audio system.
Pretty good, not audiophile quality, but not bad. I have non nav and would like to add a better sub and new speakers with and amp and keep the head unit. The little sub has some bass and depending on the frequency I can get the mirrors to vibrate.
are the speakers glued to the door?
No, the aftermarket speakers are not glued to the door.
Is this the same for a 2015 civic man?
+Gabe Sanchez Yes. If you have an EX, the speakers may be better than the LX. But overall, it's a vary similar process to your Civic.
Has adapter, still needs to drill holes lol
need a video for the rear speakers
+Jonathan Wazenegger Done deal. Check it out.
ua-cam.com/video/WLEALsjoGQk/v-deo.html
You kind of look like the new Spider-Man.
ender2999 lol thanks?
