Angry Egypt's 'Will Withdraw As Mediator' Threat To Israel Amid Report Over Gaza Truce Terms

- Egypt has threatened to withdraw as a mediator in Gaza ceasefire negotiations after CNN reported that Egyptian intelligence changed terms of recent truce proposal and scuttled a deal. "Attempts to cast doubt and offend Egypt's mediation efforts... will only lead to further complications of the situation in Gaza and the entire region and may push Egypt to completely withdraw from its mediation in the current conflict," Diaa Rashwan, head of Egypt's State Information Service, said in a statement published on social media.

It is not Egypt that changed a few details of the agreement Israel had agreed to, it’s U.S. that did that. Hamas agreed to it, to everyones surprise, then Israel rejected the changes and went into Raffa claiming that the U.S. didnt ok the changes with them, which is not factual. The U.S. is totally in Israel’s corner and the agreement was in Israel’s favor. The Truth is, the US is allied with Israel’s goal to remove all palestineans from gaza one way or another so they can claim that land, but the biden administration doesnt want the U.S. to look bad, so they pretend to be trying to negotiate a cease fire, when they messed up that deal. all it would take is one phone call from Biden to Netanyahoo saying, get out of Raffah and let aid come in now or we are withdrawing all our support.
If Egypt withdraws from ceasefire negotiations, Palestine will suffer.

I just love the way that this is framed as an Israel problem when, in fact, it is Egypt that has been duplicitous in its dealings. So how is it a problem if Egypt were to withdraw from mediation efforts if they are talking out of both sides of their mouth and presenting one set of conditions on Israel and yet another on Hamas? They are totally unreliable. Furthermore, how is it that Hamas was able to accumulate so many weapons and raw materials to build tunnels? We now know that these were smuggled in via the Rafah crossing. That's why Egypt was adamant that Israel not attack Rafah as it would reveal Egypt's incompetence in securing its border. So Egypt can get lost now as they are worthless as a mediator and, anyway, Hamas is not going to agree to any reasonable demands as they still cling to the fantasy that they will still be in power in Gaza after this war is ended.
