  • Walkie-talkies exploded today in Lebanon, a day after Israel remotely detonated Hezbollah's network of pagers. Israel's Defense Minister says a new phase of war is beginning, and that the center of gravity is moving north. The two surprise attacks killed more than a dozen people and injured thousands. Hezbollah is vowing revenge. The group, designated a terrorist organization by the West, is actually also a powerful political party with some thirteen seats in the Lebanese parliament. Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib joins the program from Beirut.

Lebanon is no longer a country. It is an appendage of Iran. If the UN had not been designed to be impotent there would be armed UN troops deployed to free Lebanon, if you get my meaning.

You mean just like all of NATO is an appendage of the US. Can we not be hypocrites? Free Lebanon from what? How about we mind our damn business and get out of the Middle East all together? When was the last time we won a war in the Middle East?

Untrue. Just watch Lebanon and their allies......this is a step too far, even for the USA. Israeli insanity has got them in a corner they cannot escape from. Free Palestine.....they shall be free!

a foreign minister is supposed to represent a nation state that has a monopoly on organized violence. Who is the power in Lebanon that has the monopoly on organized violence? Certainly not what passes for a gov't. Lebanon has been kidnapped and held hostage by a terrorist organization. Why talk to this man, he has no say over anything Lebanese related.

The show in general is as antisemitic as it gets, despite it being financed by mainly Jews. Faking concern about hostages to support Hamas's play and a coup in Israel.

Under US law it is illegal to provide weapons to a country found to be in violation of International Humanitarian Law and the Leahy Act.

Any one notice the timings of this? It happened right as the UN just passed a resolution on Isrli occupation. US media is not covering the resolution and is instead focused on the attacks.

There was a resolution for Hezbollah to retreat past the Litani and be disarmed. There was a resolution in 1948 that Arabs rejected. So what's the point?

No, they passed a resolution on the advice coming from the international court of Justice, which states clearly Israel's illegal occupation, ordering them to leave the region and give back territory.

Israel has been an occupying force in Gaza and the West Bank since 1948. These two territories is an open air prison. And then the IDF selectively takes thousands of Palestinians and put them in Israeli prison indefinitely, no due process, no trial or charges laid.
These prisoners include men, women, children who are tortured, raped and starved in these prisons. These are confirmed by eminent writers and journalists like Ilan Pappe and Gideon Levy, who are Israelis themselves. A majority of Israeli citizens are opposed to the current war in Gaza and are are angry with the corrupt criminals like Netanyahu and his extreme right wing fascists in his government.
What sane person on this planet can call IDF a moral army or call Israel a democracy under the wanted war criminals Netanyahu and Gallant? There is an arrest warrant for both these murderers who have committed a genocide in Gaza.

hey friend - there is no cultural, linguistic or genetic difference between Arabs in Syria, Lebanon, Arabia, Jordan or Iraq. So Arabs that do not want to live in peace can go back to their Arab points of origin. The most common name in Gaza is "Al-Masri" which means from Egypt. So Israel isn't occupying anything. They left Gaza in a naive attempt at peace and they got rockets and rape in return. This isn't a war over land - it's a fanatic religious war with insane fanatics that hate Jews and will try to kill them anywhere. That's why giving them land hasn't brought peace and every offer has been rejected by the Egyptian Arafat and his mobster successors. There's too much money to be made in the Palestinian lie. That's why Hamas' top dog have billions.
