Been playing this tune since 1989. He does play less ghost notes at the start. And does play more 16th note drags into the kick on the one. Best transcription on line I've ever seen. Well done!
Great transcription! A lot of people seem to go overboard with the ghost notes, but you can clearly hear that it varies throughout the song and you understood that very well 👍🏻 Another interesting thing to note is that there’s never a ghost note on the second triplet of the 3rd beat. Even though Jeff explained it like that in his Instructional Video, I don’t hear it in the recording
Thanks! It’s interesting to hear it in isolation, I never realised until I did this transcription that he played so few ghost notes at the start of the song. I too always thought there was a ghost note after beat 3 but I couldn’t hear it anywhere
Cheers much appreciated just sent to my students . The challenge is on for them this Easter Weekend . More of these great Jeff masterpieces please cheers . Happy Easter all you incredible Drummers from around the globe 🌍
Still trying to master this elusive groove! It seems to me after hearing this version that I’ve been playing the hi-hat too heavy. It’s almost like I can’t distinguish the HH from the ghost notes. Do you think the key is to play HH tight, light and with the tip of drumstick? This guy nails it.
Oh yes I would say play the HH lightly, it’s a very busy part and many drummers play the HH or ghost notes too heavily and it doesn’t flow. Balance is key with this groove!
Hi, I would like to learn this page flip effect, I wonder if you can tell me how to do it like this? Is it supported by the music making software or is it a post-production video? If it is a software, what is the name of it? Can you tell me? Thank you very much!

This is the best drum isolation + transcription sync of the most iconic groove ever. Great job on this. Thank you!
Thanks!

Maybe he gets a better back beat by not having to accomodate also the ghost note after the snare accent.
One of my favorite songs of all time, and this drumming is exactly why!
The sound quality is so much better, thank you! ❤
