Glad you got the honor flight on film! I work in airport ops and was one of the guys down there on the ramp escorting those vehicles. I appreciated your thoughtfulness during those clips. Truly is one of the greatest honors to witness or be a part of.
It really is one of the biggest honors to witness at an airshow, regardless of the branch or the type of aircraft. The pay homage to those who have served past and present is one of the most important things we can do as a country.
I’m actually really surprised by that. I was talking to someone when I was there and he was super excited about the 321. We see DL and AAs at CLE all the time. However I saw CMH for the Valor 321 the other day. I would imagine with the growth in the Columbus area that bigger stuff is coming. The only problem is who will grow the station there? DL has CVG and UA has CLE. AA just closed TOL. I guess I could see AA trying to build a mini hub in Columbus someday.
@@NickFliesMedia Yes AA is closing TOL due to crew staffing. That is becoming a major issue with all the airlines. DL was using A321s from CMH too on previous schedules. I always use pre-COVID numbers but AA's presence at CMH is fairly big. With 9 gates, they still fly nonstop to 11 destinations (8 on mainline equipment). Prior to COVID, both AA & DL had daily nonstop flights to LAX. I'm of the age when HP (America West) had multiple 757 daily flights along with DL & US. DL had several flights to CVG & ATL with 757s. I remember how their CMH CVG flights would be oversold because of CVG connections. Our 757 service (US) was to PHL & sometimes one of our DCA flight schedules would be upgraded to a 757. With Republic having a base at CMH, that might benefit CMH when the business traveler returns in full force. I'm of the era (a much better one, in my opinion), when TW had 4 L-1011s a day from CMH in the early '80s. Three of them would be overnighters (STL, ORD, LGA) & the 4th did a roundtrip CMH-DAY-LAX in the afternoon.
That is very cool to see the old control tower and terminal! Also, I didn’t know that about Charles Lindbergh. My cousin is an airplane pilot there. He has been one for many years.
Great excellent video, mr NickFlies. When we go to the U.S.A for a long trip it looks good to me to visit this airport. And that other airport to spot the cargo airlines. A lot of these airlines or coming to Amsterdam Schiphol but you never nowwhat you can spotting. Wish you have a nice fatherday on sunday 19. To day on Amsterdam Schiphol Airport nothing special A planespotter from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, home of KLM and hub of Delta. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Have a happy Father's Day. The Columbus area is neat to visit, especially during football and hockey season. CMH is the commercial airport but LCK has some great cargo flights as well as Allegiant and a Air Force Reserve base so lots of KC-135s out of there. If you get lucky, the Air Force often relocates its east coast fighters to LCK or WPAFB in the event of a hurricane.
Nick, that was beautiful!! The Alaska Orca livery was amazing!! Looked like there were a lot of things going on there, but I couldn't understand what you were saying most of the time. The ATC didn't overpower you. I watch on my computer so I have good sound. So I'm not sure. . . maybe you may need a mic'd headset?? 🤔🤔 Still quite an enjoyable video as the filming was great, and you label the flights. Thanks for all your hard work!! 💕✈✈💕 BTW, nevermind on the sound. I adjusted something on my computer to make it better. 😉😉
Breeze isn't part of JetBlue. They both have a very similar inflight product & MX isn't really a low cost carrier in the way G4, F9, or NK is. I think you might think they are connected because the same man, David Neelemen, founded both airlines, along with Morris Air, West Jet, and Azul (Brazil) over the years. He left JetBlue in 2008. I'm looking forward to my 1st class flight on MX CAK-LAS in October.
You are 100% correct. I think I got confused thinking that Neelemen was still at JetBlue and started Breeze as a low cost supplement. I hope Breeze is successful at CAK, although I am a bit disappointed in some of the flights offered (BDL, BNA?) and would like to see some destinations not currently offered out of the area. Hopefully in the future. We are so saturated in the Florida, Vegas markets.
@@NickFliesMedia The MX CEO was at CAK about 2 months ago & they are very pleased with the CAK flights. He said that they average 78% full & those are very good numbers for new service. You probably saw that they had to cut the BDL service temporarily starting July 1st because of crew staffing issues. That's too bad because CAK-BDL is the only nonstop flight in NE Ohio since DL stopped the service at CLE. Also, MX has the only PBI nonstop (it's going from 1 a week to 2X in Oct.). With MX getting more & more of the 80 ordered new A220s online, hopefully CAK will see more growth. They seem to have a nice inflight product with 3 classes on the A220s (including 36 first class seats) & 2 on the E190/195s.

I love the Alaska Orca Livery. It’s so amazing and I wish to see it once here in Dulles. I can’t wait to watch!
I am sure it will be there at some point! I see IAD is getting the AS Star Wars livery today. Jealous!
Nice catch of the American A321, its rare to see a plane as big as that at CMH.
It's not that uncommon. AA has 3 of their 4 daily DFW-CMH nonstops using 321s & F9 uses it on their MCO route.

Super Cool Livery👍👏✈️🇺🇸!
Sure is! :D

That is awesome! It really is a nice airport. I bet he has some good stories.

great video of alaska airline.taking off from columbus , ohio.....
Glad you enjoyed it! That is a very unique aircraft. Hopefully it will swing by Cleveland at some point.

I ordered a new mic over the weekend which should help as well :)
22:44 looks like something is wrong with the shape of the helicopter
Beautiful capturing ❤
It is a weird looking helicopter. I was hoping to catch it taking off but it never left.
Nice !
Thanks!

Thank you for your service!
The helicopter is a sichorski S58
