That was the most insane thing ever watching that monster leave the ground. It looked like a loaf of bread flying through the air when it was in the distance haha. Fab video!
I saw a beluga at the Kansas City airport in the early 2000’s. I am not sure why it was there, airport people I talked to said it stayed there a lot. I was amazed and obsessed to find out what this plane was. Thank you for letting me finally see her take off!
Beluga XL flies over my house nearly every day. Got the pleasure in watching it take off on Saturday from Hawaden when Airbus had their friends and families day. I am lucky I get to see the big dolphin.
Love seeing the Beluga. I am living in Hamburg and I hear and see it flying over my house after it started from Finkenwerder. Always makes me smile and wonder.
The size and power of commercial aircraft of today is astounding. The technology that has gone into building better and more powerful engines. I can not imagine what they will be like in 20 or 30 years. Wish I could be around to see it.
Honestly, from a point in this channel / feed, I didnt know if Jerry and Gilly were running a "Kiddy Crèche" Thanks for bringing us this amazing spectacle, This is almost once in an aviation lifetime stuff. I was lucky enough to see Concorde take off from (usually) 27L or Right back in the day. I was security (perimiter) at Heathrow. Look forwards to more Big Jet TV. Name changed my profile in response to Gary Gary Gary. So funny..
Again a great show Jerry. For me Heathrow is nr.1 in Europe ( which it is anyway ). Always lots of traffic and action. Less breaks than in Frankfurt. But no 747's. I don't really like the new Air India livery. Looks odd. British Airways will always be a special airline for me because i made my first flight in my life. From Stuttgart to Berlin in a BAC Super 1-11 from BEA. I was 5 years old ( 30.12.1970 )...
A friend of mine is on the Beluga now,, she was one of the best Commanders I have ever flown/worked with on the A300B4 freighter in a shitty part of the world,, a wonderful aviator, navigator communicator.. and a beautiful person...
They used to take the a380 wings down the river Dee on a massive barge from the Airbus factory in Broughton to somewhere on the north wales coast I think Mostyn but not sure, and that was a pretty cool thing to see chugging down the river..those wings where massive.
0:02 Jerry, the rear two Chinooks look like the US Army 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) MH47 Nightstalker Special-Ops chinooks which are currently working out of Mildenhall. They have a few extra bits and bobs for sneaky stuff and also air 2 air refueling capability, hence the probe at the nose.
3:34 Fun fact. The structure you can see on the horizon just right-centre is the High-speed "Stealth" rollercoaster in Thorpe Park Resort, 6.3 miles away. It's 205 feet high.
@@clintonbrown8037 I think you're right, mate! I was basing it on what I could see on streetview. Now that I've looked at Thorpe Park website, it looks more like Hyperia than Stealth. Good spot!
On the A220 PW1500G engines: the ‘howl’ comes from the combustor and not the fan blades. We call it a combustor tone or whale tone. It’s my favorite sound - very unique to this engine.
Over the past month, I’ve discovered that I now have a strange and unexplained obsession with planes. I’ve always liked cars, specifically Volvos which started a love of trucks and also construction equipment since Volvo make those too. Volvo doesn’t make planes though, so I’m not sure why I like them.
If she's heading for TLS, I fly the route with BA a lot, and it normally follows the route of the A20 rather than the west coast. There's always half a dozen of the beasts on the tarmac when we get to Blagnac.
I noticed you became speachless when the stunning Queen of the Skies Korean Air 747-800 landed, BA should have bought this plane ,777s are great but have no Glam upper decks and the safe feeling of a 4 engine plane
We visit Toulouse often and see them there too, in fact we were there just yesterday. This was a special occasion as the Beluga has never visited Heathrow before.
How do I get a meembership? It must be said though this channel is by far the biggest cause of missed deadlines in my studio (designing liveries and interiors for these jets ironically) because I thought I could just have it playing in the background with the occasional glance over at the interesting stuff, but every time I hear an engine spooling it gets my full focus and attention - every single one, just like every jet that passes overhead has me looking up I can't bring myself to ignoring any of these departures or arrivals so absolutely zero work is getting done :(
Bulgey beluga was grinning more than ever when he reappeared from behind the bicycle sheds. The workmen had been fumbling with his cargo hatch for hours before he finally delivered his load, so no wonder he was looking pleased with himself. He taxied to the runway, spooled up his engines and sped off down the tarmac. He was feeling a lot lighter since he'd unloaded, and he as sprang nimbly into the sky, he looked more unlikely than ever. Bye-bye! Bye-bye beluga. Please come and see us again soon! All the children waved and shouted as bulgey tucked away his undercarriage, banked into the setting sun, and quickly climbed into the dusky sky. He had really enjoyed his day at Heathrow, and had many happy memories of all the new friends he'd made. Ooh-la-la! he chortled in his funny French accent, and he didn't stop grinning to himself all the way back to Toulouse. A freakish oddity of aviation, living his freakiest life and loving it!

Ok, but honestly?! That is the cutest plane I’ve ever seen. Adorable

Great fun watching this, and very addictive!
Love watching your videos and these two Beluga specials were something else. 😎
The Beluga XL is massive, but as graceful as any plane ✈️ in the sky.

Have to say, despite wanting to fiddle with the camera settings just before it rolled out, that sunset left hand turn shot was very good.

Flys to our house in Wirral then turns towards broughton most days and get a great view never gets old
I saw a video about plane manufacture and they mentioned that maybe by 2030 if things go right . The 747 is used for cargo . No pax.
I´m lucky I live in Madrid and see the Beluga quite often.
Hi from Bangkok just having mid day snack
I have never seen caviar taking off like that before

Only two engines?
it's an A330
Do you know what was being delivered?
A horizontal stabilizer for a British Airways A350

That’s hilarious 🤣
i think its the Special Ops Chinooks, over here at Mildenhall.?.
You can just make out the extended air refuel probe.160th SOAR.
Beluga was so nice, I didn't see it.
Aw they are coming to see her off.
Does she fly daily in and out of LHR if so what are her ETD pls ?
Hamburg and Toulouse, pretty much.
That’s exactly what I wanted to ask.
I wonder if emirates ever full these A380 on each journey?

I guess they are feeding the whale now. Lol
airbus A380
Einglish or spainish
That’s a huge f plane
Beluga is a little bit More ugly than the 380. But very rare at European Megahubs like London, Paris or Frankfurt.
I personally prefer the GE90-115B which is on the 777-300ER, still the single most powerful plane engine ever made with 115,000lbs of thrust, bonkers
I will correct that to the GE9X which has 134,000lbs of thrust
@@melódic_breeze_VIIIV the GE9X reached 134,000 in tests, but on the 777X the engine power will be limited to 110,000lbs. So the GE90 will still be the most powerful engine in operation
