Gotta say your tutorials are so straight to the point, I swear if this was a different channel it would be a 3 part, 20 minutes per part tutorial. Thank you for making these videos so short and easy to digest.
@@Mocorn I was trying to simulate some frozen meat on a styrofoam blank wrapped in plastic but it keep passing through, since you've wrapped even a shark may I ask you, do you have any tips or hints on what to do?
For people wondering why their material isnt transparent, change the blend mode from opaque to alpha and then adjust the alpha transparency to your liking. And for people that are having an issue where the shrink wrap is exploding at the 20 sec mark, make sure you check the self collision box. Hopefully that helps.
As a hint for others who ran into the problem that the distance between the cloth and the object still stays too big, i figured out that the simulations work only well if you work in the native default meter ranges. I scaled my models into (real life) centimeters and searched for hours why the cloth always stays a few centimeters above the object, never the less what i changed in the collision setup the distance on 0.1 mm. Also i figured out that a good start shape for a shrink foil is when you first simulate rough a sheet falling on the object (by gravity) and apply it. Then set a border as pin frame and simulate the pressure thing.
ive got an issue with the results of my plastic wrap. So when I followed your tutorial everything worked out well but i tried it on a different shape (Human like Shape) and when i Bake it the wrap just "explodes"?! like the first 2 Frames work out normal but as soon as it hits the surface of my model it explodes and does not come back haha is it too much pressure or anything else?
@@ewg1 well.. i did some Kind of workaround by not wraping it but more like laying a plastic sheet over it. But i think the gernal Problem had someting to with the pressure settings. It was 7 months ago and i didnt touch Blender since 4 months so i cant really help 😅 sry
This is actually a very educative channel, I'm really enjoying the consistency and quality in these videos. Thanks man! Any socials I can follow you on?
Can u make a tutorial on cloth simulation with pose in sculpting (squash/ squeeze) in blender. How to apply squash/ squeeze on part and all of a cloth. Grateful
Thank you for this tutorial ..:-) I set the pressure like you said, in my simulation the wrap is cutting at the Mesh. so i had to set the pressure to 70. Did i somethig wrong ?
I dunno completely, But if you are trying for a still image render then apply the modifiers and sculpt the parts and toggle something edit mode..Hope it helps :)
(sorry for my bad English). Excellent tutorial. I learned a lot. I just have a small problem. I tried three times and I still CAN'T figure out why I cannot see my sphere through the cloth? My final render is translucid but it's like if the sphere inside was translucid too. Do you have any ideas why does it do that? My roughness is almost down all the way, and I put the transmission up to 1 as you did in the tutorial. I checked if it was ONLY applied to the cube and it was. Same as in the video... So I'm kinda bumbed out that I can't see through my sphere (even if I change the color of it) through my cube (cloth). EDIT: I also tried to add the "Screen Space Reflections" settings in my material and render settings but the render is still the same... Help me, please :(
Hi, I love your work. If I subscribe to the Patreon will I get access to all the materials, project files etc that you have released previously to me signing up? Thx!!!
Can you explain why you pinned one face? All the faces get "shrink wrapped" on the sphere right, I don't see anything staying still? Sorry, am blender noob
Huh, gotta admit I was thinking something very different than the thumbnail showed.... like i thought you wer gunna overview the shrinkwrap modifier.... not actually show us shrinkwrap... that's somethimg i'nit
@@TheDucky3D yeah, I thought it was an overview of that, but you actually physically made a realistic shrinkwrap sim. Pretty good stuff my guy it was muy fantastico! Whats next a tutorial on screw modifier where you machine forge a screw or perhaps a mirroring tutorial except you make a mirror.
I know this comment is a year old, but the answer -- for those wondering now -- is to mess around with the gravity (which is is set to "0" in the video). Whatever angle to want it to droop to, have that be where the gravity is facing down. For further softening, once the simulation is done, apply all your changes, then use the soften sculpting brush in sculpting mode.
everytime I try this, my cloth *inflates* like a large balloon around the object, rather than deflating/shrinking, can anyone help?? what is causing this, is there a setting I have wrong??
I also had an issue getting the bake to work, I kept getting an issue saying "0 frames in memory". Turns out you gotta switch from Edit to Object before the bake button will work.

Must. Resist. Urge. To. Shrink wrap. Everything.
stesch haha do it
Shrink wrap everything.
I have so far skrink wrapped a ball, a cube, Suzanne, a small car and a shark.. send help! =)
Literally shrink wrapping a body right now...I might open Blender later.

I started screaming when I saw the thumbnail cause I've been wanting to learn this cool effect. Thanks a lot!!!
Always clear and concise. A 4 minute video on something that others would take 10 minutes to cover. You’re amazing, thank you!
I don't think I've ever seen the magic texture used in a tutorial
Me too
Nick It’s good for an easy cloth as well
I recall tutor4u used it in a tutorial for making text that looks like candy. I’m gonna have to double-check though.
Edit: Yup, I was right.
Thats because magicians dont want you to know its done
I've always heard of the magic texture but never seen it used before. Good stuff man, I can definitely use this!
what does it do ??
That's amazing, can't wait to shrink wrap an entire city!
lol i was thinking a car
I didn’t think that would be this much easy
Hud Adnan yep Blender is improving really quickly
Ducky 3D and thanks to you for teaching us 🌷

We are gonna start with an Empty document first...and then add a CUBE😏
tAJEndER siNGh haha I have removed the cube on my default setting so I have to add it if I ever want to use it

Magic texture... that is definitely self-explanatory 😂

Damn this is simple.
Hello, @Ducky 3D. I don't speak English. Can you add the option to view the keys you press? Congratulations on your work! Thank you!
Imma redoing this tutorial for like 5fth time and still cloth material completely ignores the sphere! Anyone maybe knows what to do in this case?

Nice tuts.. btw IOR for plastic/Polyethylene is 1.460
Amazing tutoria. I learned many things from it. Thanks for sharing
For those running into issues with Object Show, increase the pressure up from -150 and it should fix that problem. -100 is working well for me.
You make the most interesting videos :)
Mighty Games thank you
i cant find the pressure option under my physical properties
Awesome! Thanks
just understand shrinkwrap function...
Awesome video! When I change the color of the ball, I can't see the color through the wrap :( Can someone help?

Learning from watching you is do easy. Thanks for the tuts...but Ducky... where do _you_ learn from? UA-cam/manuals/experiments?
Are there vids which explain shading in detail ?!
I learned a lot. Thanks for the tut!

How do u hit the tab and it got face select for me it's not happening, the cube is disappearing as I'm pressing tab :-\, trying since long time

I would like to make both objects move, but rigid body just makes them jump out of sceen... any succestions?
realy cool!

@Ducky 3D, i have a question regarding the simulation. Is it working on big size like meters? i tried using it on a 15cm object and it never worked
as always u r awesome
you better teach me sum good shit with this one b

Super cool. Is there a delay between left and right audio channels?
Hi! I'm new to blender and my sphere seems to break through my shrinkwrap, does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?
Did you turn on collision?
Looks tasty :D
niceee
wow - nice stuff. thx
thx ducky
blender keeps crashing while baking the simulation, anyone can help?

I can't see the sphere, what did i do wrong, the entire result is there but i the cloth it's not transparent.
same

I tried putting in a SVG file, converted it to mesh, but the cloth just completely ignores it. Any solution?

Obviously a much higher resolution version.

Cool!
It's so cool!!!!!!!
How to make an object transparent? I can not. the sphere does not show through the cube
help me
When I made the Cube transmission equal "1", The insider sphere did appeared . Please help
Same here, the plastic isn't clear. I can't see anything through it.
Is it possible to render whole thing in uv texture with cycles and than use eevee?
I'd imagine a good use of this would be if you wanted to show like frozen food in a sealed wrap as part of a freezer or something.
or maybe a hanging blood bag in a hospital scene
Does this also work with Blender 3.0 ? My colth simulation kinda explode and not shrink wrap around :D (Yes i do use negative value)...🙉🙉
i'm having a lot of wrinkles on the sides. How can i fix that?
Time to recreate Dexter
Omg! Yes!!1
Hi, i just start blender, and when i want to create this effect the render is fullblack can someone help me ? ty
cool ♥
the best part is how you made a cloth texture in 2 seconds
Why I don't have PRESSURE inside Cloth?
everytime I try this, my cloth *inflates* like a large balloon around the object, rather than deflating/shrinking, can anyone help?? what is causing this, is there a setting I have wrong??
invert the pressure value. if it's -150, do 150. play it and pause. pick your frame. rebake if needed.
cool

How to make an object transparent? I can not
trying to add this to an animated model, possible?
Internal Springs and Pressure do not exist for me, did anybody encounter a similar problem?
Anybody know why I can't see anything inside the cloth?
my cube is exploding, anyone know how to fix this?
I tried to follow you but when I get to the baking part of the tutorial it doesn't work.

I can’t find the pressure thing for the cube
