- Is your backpack dirty after all those miles on the trails? This video shows you how to wash an Osprey backpack using the Nikwax Tech Wash soap.
The two backpacks that I am cleaning today are the Osprey Raptor 14 and Syncro 12 hydration packs. The manufacturer recommends using Nikwax Tech Wash.
I am not using a washing machine but rather I am hand washing the backpacks in a bathtub.
Then, the bags will need to air dry. DO NOT use put in a dryer.
Osprey Raptor and Syncro are both great backpacks if you are a mountain biker. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for an upgrade to your current hydration pack.

You say "it smells great" when you're all done, just how funky was your pack? The belt on my Osprey is F-U-N-K-Y and I'm actually afraid to use it as I know how much it will reek after the first bead of sweat hits it and activates the stench. I'm going to use the Nikwax on it, just wanted to hear your thoughts - the before and after.
My pack wasn't too funky when it came to smells. I train jiu jitsu and I have a constant battle of keeping my Gi and rashguard from being stinky. They will smell clean but like you said, as soon as I sweat a little bit, the funk comes back.

I've a camel pack for a few years, keep forgetting that I have it, today was a beautiful day to ride after work, really need to remember to bring it more often
There are some days I just take a bottle of water and leave the pack at home. But I always feel weird not having any tools/pump/etc with me.

I’m curious about the drying time when hanging outside in those temps. I need to clean mine for an upcoming 3 day trek that starts tomorrow and I’m not sure if it would dry in time. It is supposed to be cloudy today - I may have warmer temps, but probably not a lot of sun. Thanks!
It would probably be dry within a few hours but it will definitely be clean!
When I take showers I bring my back pack in and clean it 😂😂
