Honestly coming from a Firefighter Family. I would get with a volunteer department to keep up your certifications since you have worked so hard to get it. ❤
Uh no not no whack ass volunteer. They have no idea what they are doing and don't get paid. Waste of time and dumb.
Unfortunately only money talks nowadays
As a former volunteer firefighter and EMT, I let everything go and now I have to go back and get my EMT. I would definitely keep up my certifications as a backup plan. I am happy for you both. Congratulations.
He may have left a job. But he also created one for someone else. That being said, live your dream. If you two can spend more time together and it’s healthy and you can build something together. Go for it. You’re both obviously great people. Wish y’all the best.

I was a full time firefighter and EMT-B, I left after having my kids and became a structural engineer. I have still kept my certifications up to date as my plan B. It’s always good to have a plan B when you have babies to care for. Happy for y’all!
How much did you make as a firefighter and emt? To afford the house these people have with a kid on just that I’m thinking it must be like $200k

Plus he’ll have the parts of the job he loves without the full-time responsibility. Mine is currently working 48’s while I finish school and it’s definitely been a struggle for us getting used to the adjustment of him not being home as often. As much of a struggle it is on us both we know that there is a bigger plan for us and will come out only stronger. I pray y’all continue to touch people’s lives. They are going to make so much money doing this that they’ll have money for retirement fine!
I don't really think you have a grasp on how much money content creators make. Even on a smaller scale that's just on a single platform like youtube.
But they have a medium-large following on multiple.
Brand deals, ad revenue, they'll be fine.
They'll easily make more this year than they would have had he spent the next 10-15 years at the fire department.
I hear what you’re saying, but you don’t realize the money you can make on UA-cam they’re probably gonna make so much more now for their retirement and some . If you have a big enough following, you can make millions on UA-cam easily. Hell if I could do it, I would. I’m a watcher though, not a filmer.
Career Firefighter is many people’s dream job
A lot of guys on FDNY will tell you its the best job in the world. Good pay , a lot of time off & great benefits
I would never quit that job like here in NYC work 2 24 hour shifts a week work 20 years & get paid for the rest of your life in retirement.

This is the SAME thing my fiancé is going through right now! He has a job now with fantastic benefits and retirement but he has prayed and prayed and feels extremely at peace knowing he needs to leave. His passion was lost and he was starting to fall into depression, right when this happens there is an opportunity doing something he LOVES and he’s able to jump right into it and get mentored by a close friend of ours. Knowing where god calls you is so peaceful and a blessing. I know how this feels for him, so I’m so excited for you guys. Amen! Enjoy your lives because life is too short. Yayyy! I’m so excited for you guys! Praise God and I’m so proud that you guys came to God and asked for guidance what you guys should do. He has a path for you guys and everyone you just have to follow it and you guys are. So proud of you both and can’t wait to see what is to come. Doing things for his kingdom is so amazing and wonderful. My church just opened a super nice coffee house to help serve the college and career age group a safe place to go and we get to serve to our community in it as well. It so amazing what a ministry can do and the things to come.

Hi! I know this is a late response, but just know the Lord has me at a similar transition! I have been in Kentucky at school and it blessed my soul because I got saved 3 years ago at school! Since then, I have just wanted to give my all for the Lord! This last semester, I was just burned out and exhausted because I worked a lot and I was stuck with not knowing what was next, but I surrendered my control and God opened doors for an amazing internship in Cleveland Ohio working with those who are homeless and sharing the love of Jesus with them. I praise Him for it! People think I am crazy because I could have stayed in KY my last semester but I just had such great confirmation from God! He is so good! Can't wait to see what The Lord does in both our lives and I can't wait to see who all is reached! Love yall!

As a retired firefighter of 33 years I still miss it. I had to retire early was hurt on the job. So you are very lucky I missed out on so many things with my two sons because of the classes and training and stuff. Those times I wished I could have been there. Now my boys are in there 30s I look back at some of the things I missed I now do with my grandson so yea live for Devin and that beautiful little girl you have. And as an old firefighter/paramedic and type ll diabetic I can relate to both of you guys spend time together and love ya both.
