BMW 2003 E39 540i M-Sport 6spd V8 Cold Start up Exhaust

2003 MSport 540i showing exhaust mod on cold morning. Headers have gutted primary catalyst. Twin main catalyst still remain. Resonator has been deleted with 3" piping to the stock M Sport muffler that has been welded straight through (piping goes straight thru factory muffler leaving appearance of stock). Basically, this is what the M62tub44 sounds like with only main cats. Basically 3" single straight pipe from after cats back. Sounds amazing. Will post more vids of full load, in car, or revs if you want. Maybe a tunnel run if you're lucky!

@coach J no problem, i respect your opinion. I need to say we have big problems with the state, when it comes to tuning your cars in europe. Especially exhaust tuning. You can not just put headers and a full exhaust. The state need to give a permission for every part you change on your car. And eisenmann has a good relationship with the state, that you dont need a permission from the state. With parts from eisenmann you dont need a permission. But i also never heard a dinan exhaust in real life

It’s a factory exhaust system with following modifications: gutted header cats , stock main cats, factory MSport muffler but the internals were straight piped. That’s all!!!

Did you get a check engine light, or any codes when you emptied the upstream cats? Now you only have the downstream cats under the car right? Will it still pass emissions with this mod?

Marko Radinovic OEM full exhuast with gutted header cats, stock mid cats, no resonator, and the muffler was opened up and welded straight pipe and then welded closed.

dude, i have the same exact car but its an auto. I hear that fucking whine that you have when u cold start it goes away after a minute or 2. Could you verify thats what im hearing because I am dealing with it and dont know if thatts what i hear or not idk wtf it is

Normal bud valve noise while warms up, watch rpms. Should drop after it’s warmed up and the noise should stop. Usually should only last 15-30 seconds
