  • In this video, i have a 2010 Toyota Camry with code P2716, Pressure control solenoid D eletrical. This actually is the SLT solenoid which controls line pressure, On this model trans the TCM is bolted to the trans at the connector, so its not so easy to diagnose when intermitent. I go through the process of what i did to fix the car. Sorry for the late video, i was having trouble posting them

We have a 2006 Toyota Corolla code P 2716 Pressure Control Solenoid D Electrical. Couldn't get the code to remove even when cleared with a scanner. Turns out the car had a recall for a defective ECM and the woman never took it in to be fixed. The issue was a cracked ECM. Took it to Toyota yesterday and they replaced the ECM free. Issue resolved. Lesson learned call the VIN number into Toyota before replacing the solenoids to see if there any recalls out for the car before doing the work.

I appreciate the excellent videos. On occasion, the dashboard electronics in my 2008 Lexus ES 350 restart multiple times while driving, occurring around six times in the last month. Upon checking the error codes, I found it to be P2716. Is there a way to diagnose whether the issue lies with the TCM or the electrical aspect of Pressure Control Solenoid D?

I GOT A U660E from an 09 lexus es 350. came in first due to a leak. Customer mistakenly drove with a leak from a pump seal and didnt move after. After rebuild and test driving (shifting gears has no issue upshifting or downshifting) the car was given back. 1 week later the car came back with a P0714 code pressure contol (D). further inspection noted the transmission had leaked again from the pump seal and bushing that were already replaced. After replacing pump bushing and seal for the second time it leaked again for the third time. As far as i can see the pump looks fine and no visible wear. Is there anything that im missingor not seeing?

I have an 11 Camry with the 2.5 and the U760E. On my 2-3 shift at about quarter throttle the engine bogs down cause it's engaging the torque converter as soon as it shifts to 3rd. Then it shifts to 4th and disengages the converter and shifts normally. If I'm at half throttle it seems to shift normally. You ever seen this before or have any suggestions? No codes stored or lights on either.

A few weeks ago all of a sudden it threw a speed sensor code and the engine light and trac light came on. A couple weeks later it would not shift into reverse. It threw a few tcm codes, one being p2716 pressure control solenoid d electrical. I cracked open the drain plug on the transmission and the fluid looked terrible. I did a fluid replacement through the coolant lines and checked level. It took a few test drives and eventually, everything was shifting fine. After about 200 miles, I did another fluid change and changed the filter. Still have the 2716 code@@GaryFerraro

this is nothing new, all toyotas do this even the new ones 2017, 2018, 2019 etc. The solenoids are meant to fail and the customer told they need a new tranny.
Just replace the solenoid, and add the same amount of fluid removed, and your golden ! I am truly disappointed in Toyota with the lies and misleading diagnosis procedure for this failure!!!!!!!

2716 is usually always a TCM, Only had it once when it was a solenoid, water was in the trans

@GaryFerraro The newer cars no longer have a tcm. Drop the pan, key on, solenoid buzz, touch with your finger, the bad one stops buzzing or just ohm them after applying a torch to them 30 seconds . Very very common toyota problem. Dealers stock these now for all Toyota U model trans. Same part number and solenoids.

@GaryFerraro both, the solenoids fail after 5 years plus typically. I'm seeing this take out collision avoidance , abs, and telecommunications within the radar collision avoidance systems in the can bus, and it all leads back to these solenoids. They cause a multitude of can bus codes.
