    i bought the car back in august, have no complaints about it, except that the fuel usage is pretty high. as long as u follow the indicator of when u need to shift, its pretty low, but when u want to accelerate a bit faster at your own pace, the usage is pretty high

    Great review thanks, I agree with all the pro's and cons (although I prefer not to have Sat Nav that costs to be updated, when I can use Google Maps). I bought an EX with Christmas sales last year and loved the car but I wanted a few of the luxury items. I jumped at the opportunity to take on a novated lease with work and upgrade to the Ultimate TDI AWD in July. So far, very happy although still less than 100km on it due to lockdown! A solid build, well appointed and I am hoping the diesel will deliver better fuel economy which was my only complaint with the petrol EX. Oh, and the most comfortable long distance highway car I have owned (and I have always changed over my cars every 3 or so years). Surprisingly great overtaking capabilities, but at the expense of fuel economy. I might be biased but I think it is a better looking SUV than all its class competitors, from all angles.

      what fuel consumption you will get your diesel model and what was your Ex model consumption?

    • @markgrovenor389
      @markgrovenor389 2 роки тому +2

      @@stevej5925 my EX petrol averaged about 11.5l/100km with a best fill of 8.4 and a worse of 14.3l/100km. So far, my diesel has averaged around 8l/100km but the range is much smaller. Mind you I haven't had the chance for a decent regional trip yet which i think will show it's real benefits.

    Who needs a Sat Nav system that constantly requires dealer upgrades? Most competitors use phone based systems for navigation. Best thing that happened to modern autos is the inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPLAY. And you say it misses out on LED lighting (though you mention the rear LED lighting in your test) when the Aussie specs clearly state it has LED rear lighting and LED daytime running lights!!

    Korando is a far better than Haval Jolion or MG HS or ZST. in terms of reliability and easy accessibility for controlling safety features through touch screen.for Haval it takes at least 3 or more steps to adjust A/C temp fan etc..so annoying and dangerous when u r driving and have to touch screen 3 or more times to adjust things like A/C temp fan etc and Havals/MG warning sounds are so loud even having lowered to bottom level and annoying/a bit sensitive but Korando has screen touch controls and also buttons for A/C temp/fan controls.you may think its ok to go through 3 or more steps to control through touch screen but when u r driving and had to go through these steps..you will feel hair rasing experience one day for sure.well it was pain in ass every single time for sure..and Haval/MG suspensions are towards too soft..yeah too soft. you dont want to drive it at high speed around over 70km/h you might break your neck bumping up and down..Haval/MG need to sort out break fault issues.. transmission fault issues.. carbon deposits in engine room.. and soft suspension.. hope they can do better next time..

      @Subh8081 Рік тому +2

      @@jamesspeytebroodt7237 It's real. Happens due to incomplete combustion due to bad engine design or bad driving habit. Carbon build up along cylinder walls, intake walls can cause a number of issues.

      @@tdcamz1 more and more cars are coming to Australia with indicators on the left. I have previously owned two Skoda's with the same issue and I currently own a 6th Gen Camaro and the Korando which are both on the left. I was originally surprised ADR's didn't pick this as a safety issue (yes the wipers were often turned on by mistake earlier) although it doesn't take long to adjust and it would save on a significant engineering costs.

    Too dated and looks too miniscule on the road, but I do like Ssangyong, I almost bought one brand new some 4 years ago.

    Not knowing who will buy the company or even if they will survive is a big red flag, don't you think? If the Hyundai group was going to save a fellow South Korean company they should do it soon before the name is damaged so much it won't be worth saving. Maybe that's the plan...

      Ssangyong has nothing to offer to most automakers. Their engineering is decades behind and they don't have the brand name to compensate for the lack of technologies. And also they have the most toxic labour union in this industry.

      @@minggus9649 ua-cam.com/video/B-3nfW-yuik/v-deo.html I think Journalists would disagree with your assessment of Ssangyong's engineering. Considering their lack of funding by Mahindra, they have done extremely well to keep up with and even exceed in some cases quality and practicality of other rivals.

      @@minggus9649 if the current Korando is anything to go by, I see nothing wrong with their engineering capabilities. They have incorporated quality components into the engine, quality 6 speed auto transmission and I have no complaints with the build quality and technology. My knowledge is limited to the two Korandos I have bought but no complaints from me.

    • @rickcastellione2267

      @@minggus9649 what you said is completely inaccurate. Ssangyong may not be at the bleeding edge of automative innovation but they make solid, dependable cars at an attractive price. They're certainly not decades behind the competition, more like 4-5 years at the most. They are not some tacky third tier knockoff brand from China as you suspect them to be.

    • @precopster1
      @precopster1 2 роки тому +4

      Perhaps 15 years ago the engineering was dated. Today and from 2011 the Korando has been a jaw-dropper. They have new engines and transmissions and leading edge safety features. I have a 2012 Korando SPD AWD...a very capable vehicle and looks up to par with anything from that era.
