    Turns out Shock Therapy could not adjust the real wheel on my Kawasaki KRX 1000 because there are no MFG points to adjust the toe or camber for the rear wheels. Their recommendation is to purchase and after set of market radius arms that have adjustments for the stock Kawasaki fixed position radius arms. Shock Therapy assumed when the mount of the arm bracket to the KRX 1000 frame was slightly off from the needed perfect position which caused my toe in problem.
    While at their shop yesterday I noticed on their wall of parts it appeared they MFG adjustable radius arms for Polaris UTVs. Maybe they can produce something for Kawasaki in the future? Anyway, anyone contemplating buying a new KRX 1000 be sure to have it examined for correctness of tire alignment before you commit.

    Just watched this video because it came up on my feed. LOVE the explanation and pictures, but I have a question. I assume this is all explained with the stock 31” tires. Since a great many owners go to 35” tires, how would that affect the negative camber geometry? Would the difference even be noticeable?
    I’d guess that you’d gain track width at full compression or droop, but that’s just a guess.

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  Рік тому

      The taller the tire the more the width gain would be but it’s a small amount. Since the KRX is underpowered nobody goes to a 35 on them. It’s a great question tho. Thank you for chiming in on that 🤘🏻

    Your krx sketch shows the wheel straight in the center of travel, my new 1000 4 es special edition. The neg camber is about 3" in on the top of the tire, setting normally. Should my shocks be adjusted to get it closer to plumb, at normal ride height. I want to put street tires on it.

    KRX when will all the products be ready valving springs IQS sway bars .... how will the power be with 33 inch tires just waiting

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  4 роки тому +5

      We have a spring kit ready to go unfortunately it requires a ton of adaption with spring perches, pre load collars, dividers and such so it is over $900 and can only be done in our shop. The custom springs that fix this and make it a $600 kit you can install at home will be here in 30 days or so. The shock internals are perfected and can be done at any time you would like to send your shocks in. IQs is ready to go as well. Sway bars are not being developed right now mostly because they work pretty well stock but we do plan on them. Just a couple months from now. It is already a turd with the 32's so I would imagine it will be worse but we are going to run a turbo on it in 20 days or so to fix that. We shall see.

      @@RocksNRuts4 the wheel staying flat or zero camber change slides the tire across the ground as it cycles up and down trough whoops. That is the same as zero traction. This is called track width scrub and it’s what suspension engineers try to avoid at all cost in road racing and more importantly in big travel off road racing since traction is a premium. • @justinsmith2958

      Moving the upper mount outward and up a bit will make the system better from an overall leverage stand point on the shock. But, this is such a small help that I feel that these relocation kits are more fluff than function. Also, if you don't get it spot on with respect to extension length then you will loose CV's and axles due to over angle.

    • @ShockTherapyllc

      If air pressure was though the roof maybe but the reality is that the full tread pattern is on the ground at all times even with 5 degrees if camber in the system.

    • @npiccione86
      @npiccione86 4 роки тому

      @@ShockTherapyllc I guess that is why they camber it in towards the car. In a turn, where more front traction is needed, the sidewall roll will bring the center of tread back to the center of gravity of the tire, right? In rock endurance we run high tire pressures to prevent tire pinching the rim so it may not be the best geometry for that use case. What's your opinion for rock endurance?

The dealer, MotoCity in Anthem AZ has confirmed they could not find anything with this rear problem, no damage to the frame or arms, bushings are fine, spring and shocks are up to Kawasaki standards. In essence everything look good to them and when they call Kawasaki they get no direction. After watching you video there is nothing in the rear that can explain this problem. To know how important it is you would have to drive a car with none and decide for yourself. Maybe borrow a KRX with decent shock tune through the whoops and see. As far as fixing it goes that would have to be done when the car is designed because if you just shorten upper arms and rad rods on your own you still have axle plunge issues you now have created.

      great question. I think that the KRX might be better in suspension geometry just a bit. But, with that being said when you add in wheel base and horsepower I think that the Diablo will far surpass the KRX. We shall see right?
