- This New and Returning Players guide goes over some early gear progression for players that have recently just hit level 99. In this guide I cover three types/tiers of gear ad weapons you can get and how to get them. They are:
1. Sparks gear
2. Bayld gear
3. Ambuscade gear

Old/outdated info. Go see Craggy Bluff in the Peacekeeper's Coalition in East Adoulin. Stocks 119 gear. This allows skipping the 117 sparks gear entirely.

I don't at this time. I took a little break from FFXI, but plan to return within the next few weeks and I will definitely keep this in mind. Every month there is a different enemy/enemies in Ambuscade. Some months are easier than others.
what about accessories between lvl 1-99 or armor between lvl 50-99 the sparks NPC doesn't sell any of those?
Auction house for under 99 stuff, but it's not even necessary.

This is a great idea! I am still working on some of the pre-requisites to get +2/+3 gear, but I will definitely look in to making a video explaining the process and pre-reqs.
I wouldnt call this an early gear guide considering you need to be level 99 to get any of this gear. it sounds like it might be early end game gear.
I would say it's an early gear guide. Been playing for 6 days and haven't bought any gear. Quested the job's Artifact armor at 50-60, did Dyanmis for relic (didn't need it). Hit 99 in free gear from some 50-60 easy quests. Gear early in the game isn't important. Trusts are notably more important, imo.
@@matthewelliott2330 cool that you feel that way, but I would still like to get an idea of gear available before lvl 99. I also seems to have my own set of difficulties that I feel earlier gear will help with as I'm not lvl 99 yet.
The quickstart guide on the BG wiki combined with the "amazing exps and where to find them" guide on the bg wiki will get you to 99. Gear from 1-99 is frankly irrelevant if you're using trusts, but if you want to have the best gear for that period you have 2 options - the auction house which will sell often overpriced items that you will quickly outlevel, or the sparks vendor which sells basically completely free gear until 99.
A guide that starts at 99 really isn't all that helpful for truly new players
