COR is a special case since these are their first melee endgame weapons aside from su5. But for COR dual wielding sword dagger is extremely strong. Great acc, att magic damage and magic att. Buffs savage blade of course but also buffs leaden salute and quick draw quite well.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts about Ambuscade Weapons as well as the other things discussed in this video. I imagine some of my thoughts on this will be controversial. Let the debate begin!
I still think Ryunohiege beats out the Shining one lance, when you factor in Aftermath & Afterglow, & the bonuses it gives to your Wyvrn It's just leagues better i believe, I can't think of any situations where the extra crit from Impulse driver would really matter.
SE clearly lost their minds with the dagger, After the WS update Eviceration was already in the same ballpark as Mercy Stroke or a 100% TP Rudra's Storm and adding 50% damage to it on top of that is just madness. In addition to that you still get the ACC and ATT stats offhand and it's DMG and delay is virtually the same as Mandau and Twashtar which makes in the best offhand dagger for REMA weapons in situations where a single high fTP WS is better than a multi hit. Evisceration is fTP 1.25 on all 5 hits, 6 if dual wielded and it is TP=chance to crit, and it's one of the weird fTP replicating WS where gear like the fortia neck and belt affect all hits. So it's a must have for any dagger job whether you have a REMA or not. Mummu +2 set is probably the best WS set for this with it's +35% critical hit rate bonus.
Hachimonji with Kasha > Shoha > Light > Fudo > Light lvl 4, with 100% double attack rate from store TP +100. Any amount over 100 becomes triple attack percentage. I don't see a downside here to using the Hachimonji. Where Kasha is hamstringed into generally less damage since it's single hit without Hachimonji, Shoha and Fudo do fairly decent damage on their own, but Masamune has been done to death at this point, there are other options other than spending hundreds of millions on upgrade items for Empyrean. At least for people who don't already have a Masamune started, the Hachimonji seems to be an easier weapon to get through Ambuscade. The trial weapon to just do the WS unlock to get Fudo takes considerably less time/money to complete, than a full Masamune.
Well as you said you can make 2 a month easily. So rema whitch takes 150 to 300mil gil. It seems easy weapon for casual players. Me, i want to know about the staff ws on sch. You can use that to solo darkness, so how does it compare with atomic staff. As for relics scythe still awesome. As for blu, its how will it compare to the new sword that decreases ca ba timer by 25%. As for empy staff, 50% fast cast and after affect.
Nice vid man! Anyhow, just my own two cents... as mentioned in your review, there is no clear cut winner as to what is the best overall weapon. Everything in ffxi is situational, and although that's a boring answer, it is the truth. I believe SE wants to encourage its players to work at being perfect for all situations. That means you may have to adjust not just your gear sets, but also your weapon for every battle. For example: If you want to be the perfect DRK, you must be able to drop big dick torcleavers, so you build a calad..but then you must also be able to keep your self alive, so you gotta be able to switch to apoc mid battle. Later you might need to switch to mythic for some other function. TP gain is so insanely fast these days that its now feasible to just change weapons on the fly. Many players have already been doing this, and i think its cool that SE developers are in tune with this fad, and are continuing to develop ways to keep players engaged.
I think Kaja knife would be a good offhand. If you know you will be using Evis alot it might be worth mainhanding. Most of the time though you would want to keep Aeonic mainhand.
Thank you for not undervaluing the Club. That thing is absolutely broken if you're fighting something like Skeletons or pots, anything that takes additional Blunt Damage melts to it.
I use the Kaja tachi as a main weapon while I wait to get my t4's clears for Doji. I'm pretty much always in 2nd or 3rd place for damage in all the events I've done, OMEN, DD wave 1, 2, 3, ect , since that weapon was released. Those below me have AG REMA's. That's not to say my weapon is better, its just that, because you have a 119 AG weapon, you are not simply doing more damage by having that weapon equipped. You still have to put in the effort to play the job. So I'd say to those putting in 110%, these weapons are not bad at all, unless maybe you run into a REMA AG person that is also putting in 110%, but in most of my experiences, the AG REMA people are asleep at the keyboard. I'd love to upgrade it again, but glow weapons seem to not be in my favor. Just my .02$
I think they need to rework Great Axe for WAR cause utilizing Fencer on WAR with the Ambu sword you can't WS for under 2k TP Savage Blades and thats broken. Great Axe can't even come close to that kind of DPS. I can Consistently hit 40K SB on the highest lvl content while soloing. Throw in Ayame to always open light SC and your doing insane damage. With a party of real players (GEO mostly) you can easily hit 60-80k Savage blades. Savage Blade is very powerful but most noticeable on WAR because of the Fencer Job trait. I just don't feel that WAR was meant to be played with a Sword and Shield. But im not gonna stop taking advantage of it over inferior damage. I just use Gaxe for AoE damage when i need it now. And Gsword just for fun.
Hey...i had a better time on efts in escha thanks but it can still be rough. I keep getting animation lock tho on a big pull...getting stuck inside lots of enemies rotating around my character...and not engaging...which of course makes you die because trusts wont heal you (the second thing i detest about the game). Both these things can happen wherever i go tho. All in all i think im just too far behind even with ochain and aegis. Never entered omen or dynamis divergence...and theres no way i can solo the harder ambuscades. I did solo the VE and E one tho. My gear us regular sulevias and 119 relic and AF gear
I got myself a Kaja sword for BLU and, to be honest, I'm a little underwhelmed by it versus other non-DREAM swords. It seems more suited for COR than other sword users. Yeah, it's great damage for Savage Blade, but it really doesn't do much overall compared to say... an NQ Tanmogayi. Given what people say about the difference of Kaja sword vs Naegling, I don't think it'll be much to bother for. If you lack a good sword though, definitely go for it. Otherwise, it just doesn't seem worth prioritizing over other weapons if you play other jobs.
Naegling is 2nd best sword for pure DPS on BLU (Tizona is first) if you have enough accuracy to pair it with TP bonus sword in offhand. If you can't it's still very good for CDC, especially if it helps you reach attack cap with it's special mechanic (that mechanic is really potent actually). It's also the best for Sanguine blade and hybrid builds when you want to mix in nukes or magic burst of your skillchains.
BartekSWT wouldn’t Naegling only be second best if attack isn’t capped? Otherwise wouldn’t Sequence/Thib be better from the higher base damage and additional TP bonus?
@@tyalangan If you are at attack cap, you are probably in strong buffs scenario, so you have samurai roll. With Samurai roll you will frequently overflow with TP above 1250TP, which is the border point for Sequence/Thib to reach 3000TP with moonshade earring. So every time you go above 1250TP, that TP bonus is wasted. Naegling also has big advantage of having +40acc and +15dex, so 50+ effective accuracy for Thib which is a bless for this build. Sequence can get up to +30 accuracy from upgrades, but almost none prioritize getting ranks on Sequence, so it's usually no accuracy on it at all.
@@SageAtoreis I'm not saying it's a bad sword or anything, nor that in specific setups it can't be one of the best. I'm just saying that its overall output doesn't seem to be as huge as people make it out to be, compared to the other options available. Even in those specific setups. It just seems like people are overhyping it because of the hype with the polearm. Because that's so huge of an impact compared to other 2h weapons (including most DREAM), all other good weapons from it are suddenly making the same impact... when it's not the case at all. Again though, this is just my observation with Kaja. People were saying the same thing about that, that they do for Naegling. Reminds me of instances where people got Tizona/Almace and realized it doesn't suddenly make their damage go through the roof. As though they thought they would go from 10000 damage with Coladas to 99999 damage with ultimates.
I agree.... Mostly. I think you're too focused on the physical side of things. Magicwise, these are near universally the best in slot... Mostly. I also must point out how some of the extra effects are poorly worded. (Like how the Staff apparently is just how much TP you currently have, not based on the TP used in Retribution.) And any that have "Weapon Skill:" on them have the effect for all WSs, not just the linked WS. (That and the high Macc and INT on the Sword is why I would argue that it's the best of the lot.)
