+lionthieves I always found that stereotype to be funny cause bright colors just scream "Cheerful" and "Fun" to me. Yeah it might scream rebel but there's so many types of "rebels" now that it doesn't mean "trouble" all the time anymore. If anything, I would think people would have more of a problem with colored black hair since the whole goth stereotype.
+lionthieves I know, right? I'm not in school anymore but when I was they would go mental if you dyed your hair a "weird" colour. What pissed me off the most is they would talk about individuality and whatnot in assembly but then say don't dye your hair and wear your uniform correctly -____- Just remember you won't be there forever, then you can dye it whatever you want :)
Catastrophe I know, I'm just powering through high school tbh. I finally had to dye my hair brown again and right now I'm growing it out. I found that, while most of my teachers didn't care, some do and it affects my grades. I think a big part of it is not even that it's weird or rebellious, but that I'm spending time on myself and they see that as vain or time I should be spending studying... Which is stupid af

I've had bright red hair for 3 years now and it's at the point where it's emotionally become my "natural" hair colour. Like I'll see pictures of me with brown hair from 4 years ago and a little part of me for a split second will be like "whoa. That's weird."

YES! My little brother in... 6th grade (i think) wanted his hair neon green. he's naturally a dark brown hair color. My mom totally went for it. She caught so much flack for it. she got called to the principles office over it. yadda yada. but this is EXACTLY almost a direct quote of what she told them.
I got dress coded for purple hair so they called my mom because this was about the 10th time I'd been dress coded for hair that year. My Mother dyed her hair the same purple colour and showed up to talk with the principal. She asked if he thought her hair looked inappropriate or unprofessional. He said but he was so embarrassed the whole time.
I've been bleaching my hair platinum/white blonde for about four years now and it's somewhat unique looking since my skin is brown. I get comments on it regularly but wasn't until I dyed my hair black (my natural color) earlier this year that I realized just how accustomed I had become to standing out everywhere I go. Having "normal" hair wasn't the same as what I remembered and I didn't like it. I didn't feel like myself anymore so I went back to blonde. haha
I been bleaching/dying my hair silver which is too unique for me (i have pale skin but i have black eyes and really dark bold eyebrows) people always used to told me "hey its unnatural" but you know what screw them, do whatever makes you happy! If you like blond go for blond again

Anastasia Agreed! Nearly everyone I associate with prefers me with blonde hair anyway. When I went dark, they were just like "why?". lol

I'm this way with black hair. I know it sounds weird and basic but I've tried dying my hair many different colors and even growing it out naturally and I ALWAYS go back to dying it black and I don't really feel like I look like ME unless my hair is completely black. Again, I know...weird, but it's something I've grown into accepting about myself lol

I'm glad I'm not alone in this! I always felt like I was extremely weird LOL. I've done dark reds, bright reds, blue, pink, purple, burgundy, auburn, blonde, dark blonde, reverse ombre, light browns and just plain natural...Every single time, I just wanted to dye my hair black again LOL And I ended up doing just that. Everyone keeps telling me that I just need to find the right color, but I'm like "I have...its black." LOL
Yesss I've dyed mine literally every colour under the sun over the past 10 years and always go back to black, I'm attempting to keep it black now for as long as I can (to keep it in good conditions) but I'm sure I'll attempt crazy colours again before long haha!
I've never dyed my hair before. once in highschool I bleached a small chunk but that's it and that's long gone. I have red hair and I feel like it's unique already and it matches my skin and eyes etc and it's just me. so I like it like that! also I'm afraid of my natural color growing in differently after I dye it

I have heard that your natural color changes due to the chemicals in dyes. Personally I've never seen it or experienced it myself. My hair has changed over the years but I don't associate it with dyes, I believe it is through aging. My hair used to be super dark brown, nearly black, when I was a kid. It kept getting lighter all the way through to my teens. That was all before I started dying my hair. So seeing my hair as more of a natural medium dark brown now, I feel is through aging and sun exposure, not because of dyes.
That being said, do you! Whatever makes you happy and less anxiety-filled ^_^
I started recognizing pictures from 2013 and I had no idea I'd been following you around the internet for that long! I dyed my hair bright colors for the first time in 2006, after I buzzed my whole head. It's never been a normal color since then and I guess I've just never stopped to think about it before. I suppose after 9 years it might officially be a part of my personality, geez. I do totally see myself with bright blue hair. You've given me a lot to think about Ang!!!
ps don't worry, I also had a pretty long 90s eyebrow revival right around the same time you did lol I only regret it a little bit.

When you started youtube more regularly, that was my source of inspiration and ever since i've had my hair in bright colors. I was 14 when I first went colorful. I couldn't imagine my hair any other way :)

I completely understand you! I haven't had fashion colours for that long of a period, but I have had half blond half brown hair (cruella devil style) for 8 or 9 years now. I sometimes put some fashion colours in the blonde part (rainbow, mint, pink streaks, purple dip dye etc), but it's always been the half-half thing. It's kind of become my thing, people can pick me out in the crowd, you name it. And also, like you, I never imagined having this for so long and I don't think I will have it forever, but at the same time it would be cool if I did.
I have had blue hair for a few years now right before it become a cool thing and I have to say you were a HUGE inspiration because people used to think I was weird and really strange for having colourful hair but you were always were so confident and such a genuinely nice person that it helped me block out the negativity. Also its such a nice stage when you hit the point of no return for colourful hair because I can now go MONTHS before redye cause my blue just wont go :)So thank you so much for being such an amazing person! :)

Oh my god. You are GORGEOUS. Also, I dyed my hair electric blue for the first time last November, and it ended up sort of starting a trend at work. I'm thinking about moving on to a pink/purple blend, but maybe I'll come back to blue. I kind of like it. Like seeing Me in the mirror.

I'm so jealous that you could have your pink hair throughout high school! I always dye my hair over breaks/ summer but during the school year, unnatural hair colors are out of dress code! I am always 10x more confident in my colored hair and wearing all my piercings but I can't do any of that during school :( The pink looks so great on you through all of the years you've had it! (and your eyebrows too!) Can't wait to be able to leave my colored hair in year round.

I remember a hundred years ago when I first saw your channel. I still had a previous username and UA-cam kept recommending your videos for me. I don't remember how long ago it was, but I remember always reading your username as "albino wonderland", (and I'm serious about that, BTW). You were one of the first people I regularly saw with an unusual hair color who kept it for a long period of time, and now I see people with colored hair much more frequently.

I actually dyed my hair pink last summer, and now it's a pink-purple because I missed the pink so much! It really has helped boost my confidence even more. People already looked at my hair because it was in a Mohawk, and I have afro hair. But there's absolutely no ignoring the bright pink or purple!
Also, yes, I do notice that pink lasts longer in my hair than other colors do? Even colors like red, which I find super interesting.

I love the colour you've got here :D I dyed my hair pink on a whim (and from boredom) l last year and loved it so much. The only reason it isn't still pink is the cost of bleaching my regrowth every few weeks.
