Class. Real Class. I have loved Delberts music forever. He is one of the greatest blues singers to ever grace the stage. Loved his blues cruises. Thanks for This Wonderful Upload. Regards Frank
Seen him 3 times in the 90s he rocked the house every time!!! They cut his power one night cause he kept playing!! I stayed at same hotel ,cool dude!! Love his music!!!
One of Delbert's best songs, and sweeter with Ashley. She improves every song she sings. I could listen to these two all day. My only complaint is "more cowbell".
In my younger, more raucous days, we played the Mike Duke drinking game. Every time Mike mentioned Huey Lewis during his set, everyone had to empty their beer. We'd be floating by the time Delbert took the stage.
Delbert's Delbert. Always at least great if not transcendent. In this case the song and the fabulous Ashley Cleveland would have been better served had they split the verses. Like, "She's got a big Oldsmobile." "I got a dog that won't bite." "She's got a heart I can steal." "Yeah, he's like thief in the night." "She's got a slow burning fire." "I keep my radio low. But, when I get inspired" (together: "We let the good times roll!" Then the chorus" "Our love has no strings, no shackles or chains, but we're holding on for dear life. It's like rollin' a 7 everytime we roll the dice." Our band does this song. We've had female guest singers come up. That's what we do and it's really effective. But, like I said, Delbert's Delbert and he's gonna do what he's gonna do. lol
Two of the most powerful and recognizable voices you'll ever hear together.
In my opinion, Delbert has never really gotten the recognition that he so deserves. One of the all-time greats.
So true!
Unfortunately, most people don't get the attention they deserve. And yes, this is a great performance (although I came for Ashley :)...
Aman brother he is one of the best ever and always had a great supporting cast with him
Agreed. This is a fav of mine for a long time....
I loved him the first time I ever heard him.
