Nowadays, a tan is a sign of wealth since it means you don't have to work, because work now means being stuck in a building in your cubicle with no windows.
@@Demi.d3miwell, people still do! :D I think the OP means that tan is a sign of wealth bcs people won't have to go to work so they can go on vacays (to the beach, tropical countries, etc) and get their skin tanned
@@amyk9977 tbh that's a dumb assumption on many people's part since we can all easily get tanned in our backyard during summer lol. Personally, I think it has to do with "looking exotic". Having certain features and a skin color that's not common for people with your features is seen as unique. Most of us know that tan people aren't necessarily rich, or able to afford vacation. They just get tan outside, or in a tan bed...which is not that expensive. It's all about looking "exotic". My boyfriend is Southeast asian. In his country, pale people are rare, so they are seen as more "exotic" and attractive. His family knows I'm not wealthy and they still think my light skin is beautiful. I ask my boyfriend why people think that. He said it's because light skin is rare. I think the same can be said about dark skin in western countries. It's all about rarity. Dark skin is not common in people with Caucasian features, so it's seen as unique and different. Of course, if you go to South Europe, you will see many Europeans with darker skins. However, manny people there find light skin and blonde hair more beautiful.
I love the 18th century! and castles! my descendants owned Skibo castle in Scotland after the war between France and Britain. (the first one, not the one america was in) They were called the grays and are on of the oldest family's from Scotland.
I have a beauty mark right above my lip. Before using makeup and growing up as a kid my godmother used to call me chocolate chip lip lol 🤣 But I use makeup now when I go out and it covers it.
Boy, they were lead-heavy back then, holy... Lead paint for you face, your lashes...plus I believe some metals used for cutlery were radioactive as well...how did we survive this era???? o.o
I'm more of a 60 to 80's lover, so if I could, I would live in that time period...the 1800s were incredible for artists and the monarchy, but horrible in every other aspect, unfortunately.
I was talking to my mom about the Kentucky castle you went to. And i ended up watching the video again with her. Apparently she started watching you and really likes you!
I discovered your channel two weeks ago after I searched for a vintage educational film and happened to encounter a video of yours. I instantly subscribed and love your content! You are naturally beautiful and charming! You radiate kindness and bliss. I have adored every single video, especially this one! 😁😁🙌🏽🙌🏽Please don’t loose your spark. Right?! How did anyone live past age 5, let alone live well into adulthood?!
And the fact that it was still super lead and metal heavy in the 1920s and 30s, too. :o
Aww I’d prob be a slave or peasant ☹️, but that’s a cute look (minus all the beauty marks 😆)
