Dumbest statement i heard all day.
If israel cared about civilians they would have built a system to prevent destruction by a malevolent outside force. Something like the patriot system, you know, the one that was developed a decade before the iron dome system.
Now if hamas cared about the lives of civilians they would have not attacked a music festival. Or better yet, they wouldn’t us their own civilians as human shields. But that would be crazy, if the innocent civilians weren’t there to take the hit who would raid the next music festival?

I nearly spit my drink out after hearing you say the first initial details of hamas’s proposal. The last 24 hours of the news cycle first seemed to imply that Hamas was agreeing to the proposal that was on the table and that Israel was walking away from it, then more reports on how it was a different agreement proposal that wasn’t even floated yet, and now hearing the specifics it’s hard to believe Hamas is being serious about diplomacy at all here. From a completely an objective standpoint the idea that one party would abandon all military gains and favorable positioning for a pinky promise of maybe releasing hostages piecemeal starting a month from now is absurd. Bilateral agreements are inherently built on proportional concessions and checks that incentivize both sides to hold their end of the agreement.

Differences between the Israeli proposal and Hamas's proposal:
    - In Hamas's proposal, they do not commit in the first stage to release only living hostages, as Israel demanded, but it is noted that in the first stage, 33 hostages will be released - "alive or bodies," according to the criteria that meet humanitarian release.
    - Hamas wants to release 3 hostages every week, Israel wanted 3 hostages every three days.
    - The proposal states that the bodies will be delivered as a completion to the number 33. In Israel, they want the third stage of the deal to include returning bodies, and in the first two stages, only living hostages will be returned.
    - Different keys for the release of prisoners (30 and not 20 for each hostage, 50 and not 40 for a female soldier)
    - Regarding the release key for female soldiers, Hamas wants 30 lifetime prisoners (plus 20 prisoners whose remaining imprisonment time is up to ten years), Israel is willing to release 20 lifetime prisoners (plus 20 prisoners whose remaining imprisonment time is another ten years)
    - In Hamas's proposal, there is no Israeli veto right over the names of the lifetime prisoners, nor an option for extradition outside of Gaza, as Israel demanded
    - There is an agreement that by the seventh day, Hamas will transfer a list of the hostages it holds, but the document Hamas agreed to includes the phrase 'as far as possible'
    - Difference in the timing of the military withdrawal from Rashid Axis: The Israeli proposal speaks of a week after implementing the deal, and at the end of releasing all women, the Hamas presentation speaks of three days after, and not dependent on the release of the women
    - Hamas's proposal includes a commitment to reach agreements regarding the prisoner release key for men - soldiers and civilians - by day 35
    - Hamas's proposal includes a clause that defines that the temporary ceasefire (the cessation of military activity) will continue in phase B until a full agreement is reached. Hamas's proposal does not include a clause about the 'end of the war' in the first phase
    - Hamas's proposal includes the release of all prisoners who were re-arrested after being released in the Gilad Shalit deal. This is not mentioned in the Israeli document
    - Hamas's proposal includes the removal of restrictions on the conditions of prisoners in Israeli jail imposed following 7/10. This is not mentioned in the Israeli document
    - Israel and Hamas agree on evacuating wounded Hamas members for treatment outside the Gaza Strip - but do not agree on the number (Hamas wants at least 50 per day) and also on the timing of the implementation of the move (Hamas wants from the first day, Israel agreed after two weeks)
    - Israel demanded that as part of the rehabilitation, Hamas must not rebuild its military infrastructure, as well as the importation of materials for military use. This was removed from the Hamas proposal
    - Guarantors to the agreement - The Israeli proposal includes Qatar, Egypt, and the USA. The Hamas proposal also includes the UN, in addition to Qatar, Egypt, and the USA.

Don't victimize the colonizer again after everything we have seen, it is foolish to justify Israeli terrorism. Yes, Hamas will attack again and again until the Palestinians gain their freedom and the attacks on them and on Al-Aqsa Mosque stop. But before Hamas used violence, the PLO entered the trap of peace talk with Israel. Look where they are now, and Hamas announced in advance that it was ready to recognize Israel if it retreated to the 1967 borders. If, in your stupidity, you believe that Hamas is a threat to the existence of Israel, the only nuclear state in the Middle East, because of October 7, then every day for 100 years is October 7 for the Palestinians. Then why do you not reverse your sentence and say that the Palestinians must get rid of Israel in order to preserve their safety and Palestinian security? It is what is called double standards and complete stupidity. The only way to get rid of Hamas and have real peace is to give the Palestinians all their stolen rights. They lost everything a long time ago and have no choice but resistance and the greatest terrorism. America has stopped this solution for many years, as it did last month, but carpet bombing Gaza creates a new Hamas and extends the war to others and that's what Israel wants. It simple free Palestine and drops hostile zionist ideology and immediately start the two-state solution not a useless peace talk while Israel eating more and more of Palestine and its resources so your next silly reply from your script "But Khamas" or "Why Israel let a threat grow at its border" is already debunked

I don't see any reason to hold Palestinian civilians hostage as they don't hold much value for Hamas. I may be wrong about it tho. Just sharing my opinion.

Public pressure. The world hates the jews (antisemitism is very old), which is why, to many people, Hamas are "the good guys, fighting the jews". You've seen how many pro-Palestinian protests take place all over the world. The "pro-Palestinians" don't care about the people that died. They didn't protests against the assad government, which killed 500k civilians, against the uyghur genocise and so on. They are protesting AGAINST JEWS.
That's why Hamas is doing all of this. Because a lot of people around the world like them (in the USA, more democrats are pro-Hamas than pro-Israel, which is why Biden is critical of Netanyahu).

@@bapo224 no, actually, by "occupied territory", Hamas means Israel. Hamas' declared goal is to conquer Israel, establish and Islamic state, and expell the jews (in the 1980s was to bury them alive in the negev desert, so they progressed)

They are on the route of the apartide south african government. Pressure is low now, but building extremely rapidly. Every major move risks being the Catalyst.

We need to stop promoting the "human shields" narrative. Yes, a portion could be considered "human shields", but many bring their children to places for which bombings are anounced deliberately.
The Islamic mindset is pretty insane.
      Many are happily becoming "martyrs".
If they would value life there would be way less civilian casualties.
Just listen to what Muslims are saying, especially what they are saying in Arabic.

I think it should be stated for the record that Israel has held their own "not hostages" for the duration of the conflict, far more than Hamas managed to obtain, and many under the age of 18. Let's be clear on this.
If I was to propose a ceasefire deal, it would start and end at "An indefinite ceasefire where both parties release *all* hostages from the start of October 7th onward. Failure to cease fire from any given party or failure for all hostages to be released shall result in resumption of hostilities."
Does anybody believe this would be an *unfair* deal?
