oddly this was standard in previous OS versions... /documents/ writings/ best daft.docx I used to be add to visually highlight the file by right click add color to make it stand out from the other file is the folder, how can i do this in W11?
New Computer. New to Windows 11. Have been watching many videos and can't seem to find why I do not have any folders "Doc, Pictures, Downloads, etc" as subs in "This PC"; only OS (c). Not sure about this pinning to Quick Access... Any suggestions out there as to what I'm missing? Thanks in advance.
The "This PC" section is only used to show the drives connected to your computer. It won't list the other folders. On the left pane of the file explorer window, you should see various folders. What do you see there?

I started to use windows about a year ago. On the other hand, I’ve been a Mac user since 1987. The most annoying thing in the world to me about Windows is the File Explorer and on Ubuntu itself Nautilus. The Mac equivalent of these is the Finder and I was dumbfounded to realize how badly designed Nautilus and File Explorer both are in comparison to Finder on the Mac. I can file wrangle and navigate folders, perform bulk operations, have tree list views and be incredibly productive and get information I need so quickly. When will this catch up to Mac? Anyway thank you very much for your video😊

As observation only sir, that drag and drop of files to folder was like a soul being transferred to a new habitat or area address and with code applied or typed then it's ready to go for a journey, something like that. Another sir, the usual folders, what if modified to a layered book with chapters then for example it's an illustration book like in e- book stories with subscription as a business for the audience to follow the story, and I've seen previously an AI created superheroe and villain character with some movements in youtube, what if there's a specific graphic points in that imbedded at the back of drawings with many dots of reference points for movements of illustration character like in digital graphic paper with equally spaced dots where a pre film movements of the illustration have various movement of limbs and body model option character moves pre drawn graphically with another layered graphic paper for the background environment wherein with the addition of semi virtual reality tech the comic book film operator can create variation of characters movements which can project better the action on hand to better transform that into a picturesque, unique artwork platform venue which can better bring the audience imagination to different areas and environment of it's better interpretation of what the director or scriptwriters idea into fruition in various places of imagination and artistry creatively, the only difference from AI created story graphic comics was that the actions or movements of characters and moving vessels or transport things which can define the time period being projected including the environment and the preliminary colours applied can be edited by advanced graphic arts and colouring to display better it's special effects if needed according to the flavor of the director, scriptwriter and to the last screener the editor of story and picture, and in the produce can be a visually attractive not in reality image but moving illustrations much better than what the cartoon drawing can do, and instant money making potential by logging in or being members of that layered story book by advanced payment.

Lets just get rid of the option to Unhide extensions and file types!, LOL. We create multiple versions of the file types with similar naming, and its vital to see the folder structure/tree. You cannot always see where you are this way, you see no relation. We use over 10HDD that are used for distribution, and rely on like folder names. It makes zero sense to not have the option to see the Folder tree. We need it down to the drive letter. You're still under a shortcut link "downloads!
I and 1300+ other users on a single forum want to see a folder tree on the left panel.

How does one make a desktop shortcut for File Explorer? To do this I need to know its location to make the shortcut. What is File Explorer's location?
So Microsoft hid the option to do this in an odd spot. Go to Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Personalization>Change desktop icons (Left pane) Then check the boxes of the icons you want to appear on the desktop. Click ok and it should pop up on the desktop.
