Honestly I agree with the take that her normal mode would be good enough to balance her style out if the jealousy mode wasn't slightly overtuned. She is second most volatile character in the game after slayer imo, which just doesn't make her very fun to fight - even though she looks fun to play (I don't have season 3, so i can't even lab against her)
I play aba and I agree with you i steal rounds just like slayer but id say I'm slightly above average and I still can't survive certain match ups and because of that polarization it can be really annoying especially the way ppl play against her In neutral my friend plays testament and arbiter full screen stops me from activating jealousy it's kinda annoying then I play slsyer, anji, baiken and other mid to low high tier characters and she feels like the best character in the game.
People trying to get normal mode aba nerfed so she can just be unplayable is crazy. Having her in your top 10 is wild no one is winning anything with her solo.
To be honest, ABA's in a fine state currently and I don't think she needs any changes. To the people that complain that her base form is "too strong" I just want them to think about Nago for a second who gets to spend 100% of the time match as his broken form if they manage his meter well while ABA has to play at minimum half of each round in her base form so nerfing it would make the character outright unplayable. The 3 hit super, is the only OP part about her kit and might need a nerf but other than that I find it extremely hard justifying an ABA nerf while characters like Leo, Nago, Slayer and Sol get to do what she does but better and for the entire duration of the match. Lastly, almost every character in the game (including Potemkin) can easily play keep away with base form ABA due to her snails pace mobility so the only characters "struggling" against her are rushdown who don't have to worry about reversal DP's or defensive options while running their offence due to hers being so slow and her parry even having 7 frames of startup and being in a counter hit state the whole time. Just lab the damn matchup and stop complaining since the other characters in this game are most definitely not any fairer to fight than ABA!
This is the worst take I've seen yet. Saying that ABA spends a minimum of 50% of a match in Jealous Rage while she snowballs off a single touch is hilarious. Insinuating that you can keep ABA out that whole time is insane. No character in the game can snowball as hard as ABA and even then she has privileged tools in normal mode that more than make up for her slower movement. The fact that she can convert almost any stray hit/mash into keygrab or her Rekka series (which HKDs and let's her enter Moroha) is absolutely wild. Jealous Rage at this point is completely uninteractable for some characters like Potemkin and even if you guess CORRECTLY against how she'll approach you, you can lose because of how overtuned she is such as j.H beating 6Ps due to its size and speed or her JR f.S being completely disjointed at 9F. Honestly, I'd buy your points more if ABA couldn't gain Moroha gauge by stalling you on the wall after she goes ham on her controller doing a million different unreactable mixes in a row; but with tension she can stay in Moroha for the rest of the round almost indefinitely which nullifies a round-start that isn't even such a bad of a state considering she has tools to skip neutral handily that aren't even unsafe or RPS using her 4F 2P. Bro, her pressure in normal mode might as well be just as good as Sol's anyway because of how well she can stagger her pressure with her Rekka and how it naturally makes spacing traps to preventing you from challenging all while increasing her JR gauge which encourages defenders to interact earlier rather than later.
@@UncleMerlin You know who else can snowball of off a single touch? That's right ... THE WHOLE CAST! And I'm not even exaggerating: * Sol takes your life: (Positive bonus + Takes more than 60% health after 1 combo) * Slayer takes your life * Nago takes your life * Sin takes your life * May takes your life * Goldlewis takes your life * Millia gets to disk setup 4 way mix you until she takes your life * Potemkin takes half of your life and then Garuda's you on wakeup to make you guess for that second half * Leo takes your life and enters back turned stance * Asuka puts you full screen with 40% health gone and keeps chipping at you with his cubes * Johny gets access to guard crushing instant overheads that combo after throwing his card on a knockdown * Ect, Ect... From the top tiers to the bottom tiers just get one hit in and snowball from there. ABA just has a harder time starting off her party than the rest of the cast but does have an easier time than most keeping her temp going once she does get started but so does everyone thanks to the meter provided by positive bonus and by simply running one's offense in GGST. And her pressure in normal is no where near as good as Sol's! Simply FD the + on block Keygrab and she can't follow up with ANYTHING even if she kara cancels into it. You mean to tell me her rekka that's -2 on block, only leads into a hard knockdown if no meter is spent and can easily be FDed (She cannot get back in after being FDed due to her snails pace run speed and has to commit to either 236k or 234k in order to continue running her offense. Both of which can be 6P as a low commitment way to nullify both options...) is as good as Sol's forward advancing +2 far slash that can take 80% of your health bar on a successful CH? Hell nah bro, just tell me you haven't labbed the matchup and just need tips against the character and I'll happily tell you all of ABA's shortcomings and how to abuse them but please don't spread blatant misinformation like that...
Aba is broken at the slightly above average player skill area (where people can only consistently land simple 3-4 piece combos). She is trash with lower skill play because players can’t deal with range that well (due to her speed). At high skill play most people are good at fuzzy blocking her high low mix. I am not a high level player but I think at the arcevo finals the ky player could have done way better if he saved his meter for yrc. Ky probably should have saved burst for jealous rage too (he was using it while she was doing normal mode combos).
I play chip mainly, and the ABA matchup for me is hell. I may be doing something wrong but she just is so powerful in jealousy mode that all I can do is run away, or risk getting 2/3 my health bar gone in one touch.
you probably aren't. aba was built to mess up chipp BAD. dealing with parry/214K beating mids and highs vs 236K beating lows means every poke can be a coinflip to her win con. if she gets her win con, 90% of the time you just lose. she's faster, stronger, has better mix, greater reward on hitting mix, and has practically every tool to deal with any approach or decision you might make. EXCEPT running away. your buttons can't beat hers. so honestly the best you can do is keep distance and run out the clock while waiting for her to do something stupid
@@luckii_shotsi disagree both parry and comand dash are really reactable into big punishes chipp never has to though out any pokes and aba is the one that needs to premtively mash. Chipp can space trap aba to death with 5h and has a hard time getting out of the corner. Whenever aba finally transforms usually from burst he can triple jump and alpha blade to stall and will usually have a meter and burst adv to stop her from running her offense. match up requires you to not mess up but it could potentially be winnable for chipp
Also I’d say Chipp really does not like doing pressure to her at all. Without meter a lot of his options are vulnerable to reversal mashing, as well as being low reward due to the fact that ABA has so much life. So sometimes you will hit her 2-3 times and she still lives, she gets the 1 successful mash and then you might lose the round immediately. aba either has an extreme advantage on some characters or just straight up one of the worst when fighting others. fighting characters with good screen control and long range pokes and of course, zoners make aba seem low tier but every other character can be snowballed by her. her normal mode isn't even that bad excluding some matchups but thats how she was in +r. I've played her in plus r and i swear ur constantly in jealous rage 90% of the match. but all she has to do is get knockdowned twice and u secure the win. strive just made her less punishing to play and i think they should nerf the hop.
It's great going through her dustloop looking for something, ANYTHING at all that could be considered a weakness, but all of her attacks are safe, and they're not even that slow. Her only concievable weakness is her slow run speed, but she can block while dashing and gets to fill her meter by 40% for free if you throw a single projectile at her, also she has 2 seperate crushing movement attacks which are both completely safe even on whiff. This is all compounded by the fact that she doesn't even have to CARE about having a slightly slower than average far slash or anything, because literally all it takes is a single 4 frame p button or 5 frame low kick and she instantaneously gets mode change with more than enough bar to 100-0 you if she lands a wallbreak.
@@__-be1gk This is filled with misinformation. Most flagrant of which is saying she gains 40% off parry. Why even say a number if you don’t know. 2 separate crushes? You know if you have her blocking it means it’s ur turn? Start your pressure
@jotogoat Nago would be fine if he had to start in Bloodrage (No HP drain tho) and reverse manage his blood gauge in order to be able to play the game for 8 seconds just like ABA...
