    Thanks for this video and saving Benz owners cash! I’m looking into buying this exact vehicle and my dad is trying to dissuade me bc he says small things like oil changes are expensive, plus I’m a girl but I’m determined to do all my research for this bc I love Benzes and I deserve one! Thanks again

      I don’t recommend buying a Mercedes if you are looking to save cash and preform maintenance at home as a mechanic myself I’d recommend a Honda Pilot has the same if not more space better gas mileage still has great cabin features with the newer years especially and the Acura MDX is also a great option it basically the same as the pilot just more luxurious both have a 3.5 liter V6 ain’t no slouch the reason Mercedes cost so much is they are more complex and people hate working on them plus the parts are more expensive for everything from tires and oil changes to major repairs

    FYI, You can also use Castrol 0W40 because it meets MB Spec 229.5. Liqui Moly is probably the best, but that is my opinion. As long as it meets MB 229.5(gas engine) you are fine.

I have a GLA250 ( 2015 ) - Fuel Type Gas, Engine I-4 cyl and got the "Oil light" showing up on the screen yesterday. So I bought the exact same Mobil 1 0W-40 4.7 L and after didn't changed the oil filter. After I changed the oil, I am hearing a Ticking noise and the "Oil Light" doesn't go away. Shouldn't the Oil Light goes away after the Oil change?

    How to reset service a gla 2018

  • @laxbeach2381
    @laxbeach2381 6 років тому

    Hi,
    In my manual, it states to use regular 87 octane gasoline. I have a 2015, and have been using BP 87 since I’ve owned the vehicle. The only reason is because I also have a BP gas rewards card. I’ve been wondering why I’ve been having performance issues. I talked to the dealer wondering if it could be fuel related, and they said I should try Exxonmobil or Shell. I topped off my tank with Shell 87, and unless it’s a placebo effect, my missing performance seems to have instantly returned. I know gas is gas, and between BP, Shell, and ExxonMobil they’re all top tier, using their respective detergents, but what could be the difference between BP and Shell? My engine seems to run better with it.
    Thanks

    Good video but you didn’t clear the service message. So it thinks the car is past due the service interval. Also you have A and B service. The A is oil and filter, in cabin filter, brake system inspection. tire check and rotation, fluid check and reset maintenance counter. The B also includes brake fluid exchange.

    Need to loosen the oil filter housing first before you drain or it leaves about 3/4 quart of oil in the system due to vacuum.

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  4 роки тому

      Vacuum from the oil coming out? Because once the oil has all come out the pressure is going to equalize. Imagine turning a water bottle upside down and opening the cap. Now replace the water for oil and the bottle for an engine. Even then an engine has a breather to equalize pressure regardless. Thanks for watching!

    • @sjohnson7735
      @sjohnson7735 4 роки тому

      @@2carpros I worked at the dealership. When the oil filter is still screwed in it hold the oil that is in the filter housing due to vacuum. Only way to get that out is to loosen the housing then drain the oil. You get almost another QT out. You loosened after so the oil just went to the oil pan.

    You forgot to show the procedures for documenting the engine oil change within the vehicles ECU. Without doing this the vehicle will soon display a warning that maintenance is due. Properly inputting this information into the vehicles computer system will document exactly when the oil change was conducted and reset the required interval for the next oil change.
    Additionally, for anyone reading this comment I highly recommend changing the oil on this vehicle with an oil extractor.

    • @2carpros
