What about the fact that PSU beat WVU soundly and WVU, like Illinois, just beat Kansas? No one seems to put that together. Bowling Green is pretty good giving Texas A&M a game last week. PSU shutdown Bowling Green in the 2nd half.

NEB was ranked too high, and IL gained much from the Huskers’ rating. Plus, if you watched the game… NEB did quite a bit to beat themselves. I think both teams are still Big 10 mid-pack teams. And please, at this level, no one’s being ‘taken lightly’. The main issue with the BG game is it was the first time using the in-helmet comms… and with KJ Winston out, the D had trouble communicating on the field… so add that to BG having 30 seniors, a solid QB, a good coach & plan… and they had success getting the ball out under 2 sec.. and we had some coverage issues. Notice that after half, BG had 85 total yds -40+ of that on the last drive that resulted in a fg against the scrubs. So I’m going PSU 41 - 17 .

Maybe it's because someone doesn't like Penn State so they give an unrealistic point spread they know they can't beat so if they win by less or lose outright it makes Penn State look very bad so maybe they move lower than 12 and some other team that someone likes takes PSU place in the college football playoff position. Just a thought.
