Geese you're so evil that I can't even comprehend your smack talk! (And yes, I did steel that joke from someone far funnier than me thank you for noticing)
Whoo boy, this game. lmao So, lemme just say that this game is hard no matter what difficulty/level you're on. You can put it on Level-1 (Easy) and you'll still have a hard time. It's just that you put the level on any other level, especially Level-8 (Hard), you'll just have an even harder time. And Max played this on Level-4 (Medium), fyi. Anyway, some fun facts! (You can go back to Part 1 to read some FF1 facts if you haven't already!) - Fatal Fury Special is an enhanced update to Fatal Fury 2. However, Fatal Fury Special lacks the special cutscenes that Fatal Fury 2 had but unlike Fatal Fury 2, you'll still get the Character Specific Ending image no matter how many times you lost (Fatal Fury 2 ONLY gave you the ending if you won without a continue). - (EDIT) I forgot the most important fact of them all! Fatal Fury Special is NOT canon. lol Only Fatal Fury 2 is. Canon in the SNK fighting games are a little weird, but I'll explain it in other videos. So Geese's appearance here is non-Canon, for example and Ryo's secret boss battle is DEFINITELY not canon! XD AOF takes place weeeell before the events of Fatal Fury 1... But Ryo DOES appear in Wild Ambition which... I can explain if and when Max plays Wild Ambition. He said he would. - This game is responsible for introducing some of SNK's most memorable fighters including Mai Shiranui and Kim Kaphwan (FYI, Kaphwan is his first name and Kim is his last/family name. He's Korean. But that does not stop people from calling him Kim anyway lol) - Mai is a childhood friend of Andy's and is madly in love with him... Their relationship was unclear though KOF 14 seems to imply they're finally together-together. Maybe. XP She is one of SNK's most popular female characters alongside Samurai Shodown's Nakoruru and KOF's Athena Asamiya. - In Kim Kaphwan's stage, you can actually see his wife and kids in the background, his kids being Kim Dong Hwan and Kim Jae Hoon who would make numerous appearances in the FF series and even become playable in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, now older and fighting like their father did. - Fatal Fury Special includes 4 more fighters: Tung Fu Rue, Duck King, Geese Howard, and the ultra secret special boss, Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting. This is a BIG deal because this is the precursor to the King of Fighters series. In fact, the KOF series was originally just going to have Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting characters duking it out, but SNK decided to have original characters and other SNK characters (Ikari Warriors, Psycho Soldier, and later Samurai Shodown for example) enter the fray. - Wolfgang Krauser is actually Geese Howard's half-brother. This guy is the only person that Geese actually feared as Krauser was better than Geese in many ways. In fact, similar to how Capcom adapted the SFII animated movie into the SF canon, SNK did a similar thing. In the Fatal Fury 2 movie, Krauser was redesigned to be younger and thus more better looking than Geese (SNK didn't adapt this look, though, but I love this look lol). What SNK adapted was Krauser's fate. It's not revealed until the Fatal Fury 10th anniversary movie, but after Terry beat Krauser in FF2, Krauser committed suicide, which is what he did in the FF2 movie. The Real Bout Fatal Fury Special game actually calls back to the FF2 movie in it's intro and Krauser's Stage. - Cheng Sinzan is actually one of Tung Fu Rue's students, alongside Jeff Bogard and Geese Howard... Also he gives me a lot of shit when I fight him in FF2 and FFSpecial. lmao - In case it wasn't obvious, Big Bear is Raiden from Fatal Fury. There's some lore to this: It turns out that Raiden turned over a new leaf after Fatal Fury 1 and became "Big Bear", his hero persona. "Raiden" is used when he turns evil or means business. This is brought up in KOF 13 where Kim recruits Raiden and Hwa Jai (also from Fatal Fury) to become his teammates because he believes they're still evil... but both of them have turned over a new leaf. However, the both of them work with Kim just so they can be in the spotlight again, even if it's brief. (That and the developers decided to pick unexpected characters for KOF 13, which is why Hwa Jai and Raiden are there) - Like the last game, Fatal Fury 2 (not Fatal Fury Special) actually plays in real time, so the ending will tell you the date (but not the year) that your character beat Krauser (Example "October 16, 1993. Terry Bogard becomes the strongest in the world.") - (EDIT) Oh yeah, one other fact. Max didn't do any of it, but if you do C+D (Power Attack that forces your opponent to go to the other lane) in the final stages (save for Geese and Krauser), the opponent (or YOU!) will get hit by the background. For Billy's Stage, you'll get hit by the gears, for Axel's Stage, you'll get electrified, and in Laurence's Stage, you'll get hit by the bulls. I actually spam the attack on Billy because he just doesn't know what to do when he comes back. lol You can't kill them with this method however. If they're on a last bit of health while they're on their way to the hazard, they'll take no damage because you have the land the final blow. - (EDIT) This SHOULD be the last fact! XD You know Axel Hawk? The 2nd Boss who will never appear in another Fatal Fury game save for a possible cameo? You know his Tornado Upper move? Sound familiar right? Michael Max, a boss in Fatal Fury 1 (one of the four selectable bosses) does that same exact move. Heck, Axel even SOUNDS like Michael when he does the move in FF1. First off, Axel's Tornado Upper move is a Fatal Fury Special exclusive move. He did not have this move in Fatal Fury 2. Second off, it turns out that Axel Hawk is both the friend and teacher to Michael Max. Explains a bit! Doesn't really matter when both Michael or Axel don't appear again; not when we have better boxers in the SNK lineup like Rick Strowd, Heavy D, and ESPECIALLY Vanessa lol (The latter who is the most popular of them all... More on that when Max posts the Real Bout 2 video~) That's enough for today~ Fatal Fury 3 is likely next and... whooo boy. Did Max have a hard time here. (And I don't blame him.)

Man, I miss arcades. I wasn't born when they were booming, but a nearby laundromat used to have a Super Turbo machine and a Galaga one right next to it and I had the time of my life with those.
One thing I always appreciated about the SNK games is the in between story beats and the attempt to do something similar to but different from Capcom. Even if I couldn't play the games worth a damn for the latter reason. Lol
Snk games are overall superior. But Capcom was the fg pioneer and the richer company, so we saw faster sprite and audio technology evolution for example. Snk was basically in a position where they were responding to Capcom's developments. But that dynamic relation was essential for building the genre, in the end. It's certain that Capcom alone wouldnt have taken It Very far (even If this may sound unbelievable for Capfags who were stuck on Capcom games and are unfamiliar with the Snk world)
I like how because this video is in 30fps but the game is in 60 with projectiles having a flicker effect to them, half the time you can't even see the projectiles and you get stuff like the Axel Hawk fight where it looks like the two characters are just hitting the air for no discernable reason.

39:44 the way the screen pauses instantly made me think of the Eric Andre WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK screen
Krauser needs a damn push to current KoF/MotW/FF games. He was too much of a bad ass "villain"
Everybody gangsta till the arcade machine starts playing Dies Irae
I hope Duck King's theme gets a sweet remix for Smash.
I hope "Big Shot!" is on Smash too :)
Duck King didn't get remixed but it's there!
Fatal Fury Special is one of my top SNK games of all time.
Rented the SNES version a lot! And when I got the special fight with “The Invincible Dragon”? WooBoy! 😵
Only SFA made me put the game down.A great entry for our boys, the Wolves.
It would have been great if he could do well enough to fight Ryo. That fight is so sick.
Teague Vox Indeed! That fight, coupled with the special stage, is well done...
Its because of the secret boss with ryo that we have kof now
2:30 "When I'm crouching, you can make me do the duck walk. Cool, huh?"
The electrified ring reminds me a lot the world heroes 2 death match fights,it was so much fun playing that mode.
- lvl 4 skynet IA
- lvl 4 skynet IA boss

- boss cheap damage
WELCOME TO SNK BAAAABY!
One thing you got to love about the Fatal Fury games are the stages, they're so colorful
10:53 Max ghetto fabulous side just slipped out for a second there LMAO
I need 'boom motherfuckuh' as a notification sound.
Fun fact: 'in the pink' is an idiom meaning to be at peak condition or in perfect health...
Not the whole rapey thing the game hints at... SNK why.
Its a very archaic way to say that but yes, or in other words: Its an older Idiom Sir but it checks out
We get a Terry Legacy finally. WHERE'S MY SAMSHO LEGACY?!
Why does geese step bro looks like a soulcalibur character
Yeah the armor gives him a similar vibe to Algol.
I lost it when Kim did that combo and max shouted 'ULTRAAA' 😂
Anybody else noticed the "other Terry" getting ice cream in Andy's BG?
33:10 "Son of an ice cream maker"
32:20 Laurence did Psycho Crusher!
Fun fact: SF2 and FF2/Special shared a lot of common staff between them. SNK was just "indie Capcom" back then.
I finally understand why jubei has two Izuna otoshi variations, he's a ninja grandmaster🤦♂️
1:32
The entire Fight: "Ok F&ck"
He Lost: "Ok, Fine"
I never knew much about Terry or KoF before he was announced for Smash.
I need to admit. I love what I see.
I always feel obligated to use Terry. Since we share a last name
You share your full name with his father.
@@supernintendosp true
Every time Terry says “Power Wave” I keep hearing “Allow me”
You know that both FF2 & FF SPECIAL INTRODUCED THE FURY SDM MOVES...
JOE SCREW UPPER
TERRY POWER GEYSER
KRAUSER KAISER WAVE
GEESE RAGING STORM
What the hell, never thought that fighting a half naked russian wrestler with a live orchestra playing Dies Irae would be so cool.
KOF sure was something else.
For the record, that dude is Austrian. Or German, depending on the source material.
Sounds like Terry is saying "I love beef" with his projectile move.
I always felt it sounded like he's saying "Allow me"
lol, yeah 😊👍
Is Max going to play Terry in every KOF game?
This is going to be a loooooong series.
Pretty much lol
36:00 "You're good you fought well"
back when joe's hair didn't look like Benimaru"s.
That moment when you realize some dude is hanging out with a sheep while wearing a speedo.
It seems that Max is experiencing “SNK Hard” as well as expected...
Bitch, please. Krauser was BY FAR the most easy/fair SNK boss ever. This is just a taste.
Can't wait for Terry to jump into the ring in smash bros. He always checks to see if everyone's okay.
*people who have seen the movies*
Yeah. Krausier was...kind of a FUCKING MONSTER.
Just got an ad for kof all star. Had the click finger ready and everything for that skip button until I saw max talking about it. My brain is still recovering.
Too bad he didn't get to fight against Ryo Sakazaki.
Even SNK fans rage and struggle to get to him.
The condition to not lose a round its pretty hard
@@vulcan422 Sounds very fun. He sounds like a top contender for most brutal snk boss.
It's good enough that a total Noob struggled enough to get to beat the game. This is hard even for experienced players.
36:05 "Your Blood smells well" Is a classic.
Krauser is so strong as his step brother Geese,i'm waiting to see Max vs Nightmare Geese if possible in Real Bout Fatal Fury Special.
I think you have to not lose any rounds to fight Nightmare Geese, so I don't see that happening. I'd love to be wrong, though.
They're half brothers
@@melvinshine9841 Yeah that's true, and when you win against him he does a maniac and badass laugh.
Terry: "Wubba Wubba, I'm in the pink today, boy!"
Also Terry: "You've got guts. Too bad. I'm gonna tear them out."
A R E Y O U
O K?
Looking at the difficulty of this game, I feel bad for the kids that lost so much money on this.
Oh no the game straight up cheats
Many of us had an allowance that added up to about a dollar a day. You got good, or you went broke.
That's why we are the way we are. - GenX cusper
Man, I miss arcades. I wasn't born when they were booming, but a nearby laundromat used to have a Super Turbo machine and a Galaga one right next to it and I had the time of my life with those.
I remembered playing this on my SNES
I love playing these games myself so much, your commentary is legendary ! :D
I love how max is experiencing the pain of having FFS at your local arcade at lvl4. It was the first game that made me curse as a child.
CHAT, THIS IS A SECRET BOSS RAGE, I COUNTED HOW MANY COINS HE USED, HE LOST 68 TIMES (USING 69 COINS NO JOKE INTENDED) AND TOOK 2 HOURS WITH 17 MINUTES
I went to the stream and counted because i wanted to be a record, i laughed so much watching this live.
Terry says the same thing every victory.
Max finally notices it at the worst possible time.
Comedy gold.
14:05 - That's exactly like SF2's Guile making his Flash Kick without charging.
I hate when games don't follow their own rules.
I always thought that Terry says "allow me!" for his Power Wave in this game
