    a quieter version of this tone is what I'm trying to get.
    I had the xforce 2.5in catback and it was horrible, just bass like a commodore v6.
    now got stock middle and sti quad mufflers, it's so quiet

    Do you find this setup to be too loud in real life and does it drone at all? I've been sitting on a set of headers for a while now and I'm thinking of either getting a similar setup or if I should just get an Xforce catback with hi-flow cats

    • @quasarcreator
      @quasarcreator  3 роки тому +4

      Definitely not too loud-easily drowned out by music, and not annoying. Drone is a bit of an issue for me, only around 2,500 rpm. That could maybe be fixed with a proper set of mufflers (I just have 2 resonators at the back). Don't remove the large middle resonator unless you get a whole exhaust system cos you'll have a lot of drone. I've heard headers can make it raspier but if you paired it with say, an X-force catback, hi-flows, and some good mufflers (e.g. TCP Auto) you could get something nice.

    • @quasarcreator
      @quasarcreator  3 роки тому +1

      I've had this same setup since this vid (over 3 years now) and haven't had any other issues. I would like to get headers at some point, but it's not at the top of my priorities rn.

    • @quasarcreator
      @quasarcreator  6 років тому +4

      Main things that help are handling mods, so coils, tyres, bushings, etc.
      I got mine completely stock too haha. First thing I got around to was the exhaust mods I did in this video. Then I did an upgraded sound system. Just recently changed my front and rear brakes as they were almost gone haha, got DBA T3 rotors and some Bendix pads. Next on the list is coilovers. I'm thinking of either getting some from MCA or Shockworks, but there are heaps of options out there. Only real way to get power out of these engines is to go forced induction, the least expensive route is a raptor supercharger. You could also try turbocharging, but to actually get a good increase in power you're looking at tens of thousands of dollars (I'm not joking lmao).

    • @quasarcreator
      @quasarcreator  6 років тому +1

      Fuck Tonne of W's I wanna get that resonator too! Haha it made a huge difference for me, because my 3rd cat was completely blocked and full of dust. Just with the muffler deletes it sounded strangely quiet and almost choked, removing the cat really helped.

    • @FuckTonneofWs

    • @quasarcreator
      @quasarcreator  6 років тому +1

      Defs changed the tone a lot - it made it much less muffled and airy sounding, hard to describe. Afterwards it had a much fuller and sweeter tone (idk how to explain) sounded heaps better. It may or may not make a huge difference for you depending on the condition of your third cat

    • @FuckTonneofWs
      @FuckTonneofWs 6 років тому

    Is this exhaust setup easy to do? Can a completely inexperienced idiot like myself do this with a tight budget? ($500)? Car sounds absolutely mint by the way. Cheers!

    • @quasarcreator
      @quasarcreator  6 років тому +1

      Thanks! And yeah it shouldn't be too complicated. Took it to an exhaust shop and it cost me 500 actually haha. I watched them make it, seems like the hardest part is between the two primary cats and the third cat - there's a y pipe there. It's double or maybe even triple walled, which makes it super hard to cut through. However if you're keeping your third cat you won't have to worry about that (I think my exhaust is actually leaking a little bit there, some pipe seems to be rattling too)
      The rears are easy, my bolts were rusted af so just cut off the mufflers and welded on the new hotdogs + a bit of pipe. I'd imagine the only hard part there would be lining up the exhaust hangers.

    • @Um_Adam
      @Um_Adam 6 років тому +1

      Alright, Cheers for the quick reply! Excuse my lack of knowledge but If i bought quad tips would it be possible to weld them onto the new hotdogs? Or am I on the wrong track all together? Thanks
