5:21:57 Ah yes, the infamous puzzle. When I first played, I got so confused that I closed my DS to go look up the answer. Needless to say, my disappointment was immeasurable. -_-
That's what happened to me. I couldn't figure it out, I closed the ds to go ask my dad to look up the answer, and when the page loaded I opened the ds. I was confused, and as Dad started reading the solution aloud I showed him and we both had a chuckle.
One of my favourite DS games is "The World Ends With You". In the after-game mode you can find secret "pig monsters" across the levels, and each requires a specific technique to kill. If you can't kill it fast enough it'll run away. There was this one pig that I just couldn't figure out how to kill, it was so frustrating. I tried everything! Every possible technique in the game, but it just wouldn't die! Out of frustrating I threw my DS on the bed and it closed, and that's when I heard the sound of the pig monster dying... You killed it by closing your DS. Amazing.
dude i spent hours and ended up raging and closing ds, when i got back i was clueless on what i actually did... it took my second playthrough to figure it out XD
2:49:45 Hi I'm a VOD frog. So happy to see that you were playing this! I played Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks when they first came out and it's great to see the story again.
This brings back memories, first zelda game I ACTUALLY played. I had watched my brothers play OOT and Majora's mask but my uncle lent us his DS and I absolutely loved the adventure. I wonder how many years ago that was now...
I'm playing it myself for the first time as well and it's been a blast! Definitely one of the most underrated Zelda games. I'll move onto Spirit Tracks next.
I've played through the game as a kid and now as an adult and I honestly don't get why so many people did and still do complain about the temple of the ocean king. It is genuinely one of the easiest parts in the game and I say that without having gathered the extra sand.
@@MumboJ Yeah I can get behind that. I mean the temple has short cuts but you still have to sacrifce a lot of time. I guess that's why the temple is less popular than the tower of gods, since that one has something akin to checkpoints.

Crow trying numbers until he guessed the right one for the palm trees on the beach has the same energy as when he kept randomly thwacking the locks during his skyward sword playthrough until they gave in 😂
Phantom Hourglass was my jam as a child. It was one of the few Zelda games we had, so I finished it no less than 20 times. This is such a blast from the past for me.
I’m thinking about getting ST, but since I could never find the darn microphone on a borrowed 3DSXL (or on my used 3DS) I’ll probably just charge my old DS back up and try to complete it that way
Actually, no. The WIi U is the best way to play DS games that isn't a DS. Poor Wii U gets overlooked, but the controller and the TV combined acts almost as good as an actual DS. I had a blast with DS games on it, and it saddens me that Nintendo moved away from the hybrid controller screen. The Switch is great though, I just wish it could act like a second careen instead of the only screen when undocked. hat would have made it perfect.
1:00:10 funny, I nearly ragequit the game over that rat puzzle. Good thing about playing on and off with a sibling is you can help each other out when one of you starts to tilt

45:54 i remember how this very first puzzle drove me nuts as a child because in germany we are taught in school to write 7 with an extra horizontal line through the middle (I guess to better distinguish it from a 1). My 7 never got accepted until i more accidentally than on purpose didn't draw the extra line and it finally opened.
Tbh, the Courage crest puzzle knocked my socks off when I first played it as a kid. I figured it out after a bit of thinking, so I just closed the DS, and BAM. Extremely impressive, and assuredly infuriating. I'm not surprised it was a struggle for so many. For me, it was the Ghost Ship 2 4 5 1 3 puzzle that got me. That one was NOT clear with the levers.
