Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel! This UA-cam channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf equipment reviews, golf instruction & I play against some of the best golfers in the world!
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts! - Спорт
6. you will never forget a club on the course =)
but when you do you leave them ALL
James Robinson with multi club vs Rick with a full bag coming soon?
I was gonna comment the same thing 👍
Make this happen Rick!
or Grant ;)
Would actually ve something I'd watch!! I reckon that'd be a cool video 😂
YESSSSSS, Rick make it happen🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Rick with the gimmicky, 'not perfect' club misses a birdie putt to get to -2. Rick on the same 3 holes with his custom fitted set of clubs E. Love it.
This is the best I’ve ever seen you play Rick
it's good to see him putting without that dumb arse claw grip he uses to try and look cool but always misses putts with
@@darthbog2125I would guess that less than 10% of recreational golfers who use that grip, actually like it in terms of putting success.
Its mainly to look like they know about golf and go deep, they're also desperate to talk about technique, equipment etc which is no surprise.
@@darthbog2125 How do you know he uses it to "try and look cool"?
That wedge on the second hole is the best one you’ve ever hit Rick 😂
A lot of the graphics that popped up were wrong. I love the quality of your videos normally, and i can forgive the odd mistake but there were a lot of wrong graphics so it was worth noting.
Hole 1 - Par 2 - 049 yards . (It was a par 3 150 yards) @2:41
Hole 2 - Par 3 - 238 yards. (it was a par 4 much longer) @6:34
Hole 3 - par 3 - 330 yards. (definitely not a par 3) @13:29
Again, love the vids and it's nit picking but one to have a word with the editor about.
I think the editor had one too many Guinnesses
Also at 3:52 the number one reason was NUMBER ZERO on the screen and the next one was NUMBER 2.
Typing in the dark is my guess.
Light hearted bit of fun. Thankyou. I like the idea of keeping it in the car boot just in case. There are lots of times I've wished I had my clubs with me. 👏👏
# 1 reason for using this club. More room in your golf bag for beer 🍺 🤘😎
Kiwi ingenuity at its best! Great to see Q on the global stage. Thanks for supporting NZ golf sector Rick.
Dang was interested until I read that you said made in New Zealand now I don’t want it. Okay small lie. I love New Zealand desperately want to visit and being from there only makes the club cooler. I’m here in California but will make it over there to see the all blacks play.
I'd love to see a break 75 with this thing, this is some of your best golf.
The missing file was the highlight of the video for me.
haha if you've ever edited videos before we all know this pain
I thought my WiFi was broken for a sec
@@joshbenda5659 Oh yeah, I've done my share of editing in a previous chapter of life, so I can relate!
Lolol oops!
frankly, when I saw the video of Rick explaining they lost the Augusta footage I thought their team could be a little bit more professional.... and this kinda reinforces that feeling
Honestly, I have it and its fantastic especially the lower loft (wedges, through 7 iron). Pair it with a putter, a 3-wood and a driver and you're set.
I didn't expect it to perform like that. The spin on that wedge shot was impressive. Clever design and I honestly would consider buying one of these for travelling. You would always be prepared to play a round of golf if the opportunity comes up.
I think its a great idea, they should have a adjustable wedge, 52-60 and then a adjustable iron 4-9 and the you still have your normal driver and putter.
Kinda defeats the point
I like this idea as an option. The one club for total minimalist fun. Or this adjustable wedge and separate adjustable iron, along with your driver and putter, for what is still minimal but with the possibility of actually playing a more serious round than with just the one club.
I agree - 4 clubs in a tiny bag with a drink bottle and a couple of balls. Sounds pretty good!
I have the Q and I agree. They need an adjustable wedge separate. The bounce on this club is VERY high makes difficult for tight lies. Or maybe i just am not good enough. But i thoroughly enjoy the club. Took to Palm Beach Par 3 on vacation and had a blast with it.
The wedge idea 100 percent, get a nice wedge, your comfortable with and adjustable
Absolutely loving the content Rick! Your videos keep me motivated to practise and improve my game. Makes the rounds with my Grandparents so enjoyable!
been dying to see you review these type of clubs for ages THANK YOU
I would love to see these and similar clubs on the HIT channel and see the yardages! Itd be great and funny
I love it! Rick plays good golf with the club, we will never see it again😂😂
I travel for work with a small rolling bag and pelican cases of company gear. Being able to throw one golf club in and play some holes when the opportunity presents itself is a nice option.
This is the perfect application. Especially if you find a par 3 track in your travels.
All those expensive clubs in you warehosue/office and this is the club that works for you best 😂
I have a Q. It's fun. I have only used it on par 3 social outings; but glad I have it. Chipping and sand ....still learning about it.
Love my Q-Club. Originally purchased it to talk trash to my friends that i could beat them with one club. Ended up enjoying the ease of it and for a quick 9 its a lot of fun
Fair review. I've owned a Q Club since shortly after they were introduced and I've played quite a bit with it. I usually pair it with my favorite driver and wedge, and sometimes putter (though I putt really well with the Q). The club plays much better than you would expect. I recently took it to my local club fitter (former mini tour player with a plus handicap...) and he used it on his simulator and he came away very impressed.
Been eyeing one of these for a few weeks to keep in the trunk. Took this video as a sign and ordered one. Thanks!
I bought mine during the kickstarter campaign so I could play golf on my Onewheel with only One Club! Didn't take long before I shot even par on our local executive course (par 58). I later gave it to my daughter-in-law so she could start playing golf without having to buy entire set of clubs. She loves it!
Nice one Richard!
When we started Q our mission was to make golf more fun and accessible for club and new golfers, and your comment covers both situations. Most of our golfers have a full set as well, but there are some who have put that aside. Recently we sold a couple of clubs to a couple Harley owner friends so they can enjoy golf on the road!
Well, rick, this is some of the best golf you've played with just this one club.
I have one of these. Was part of the initial kick starter campaign. The team behind it are great and for me it permanently lives in the boot of the car and is great for a par 3 lunchtime round next to where I work. Like Rick says too, if fulfils that role of “if only I had my clubs with me”.
Same here. It took a bit longer for me bc I’m a lefty but I’m sure I was one of the first ones to get it too. Great idea. I’ve used it several times
Stunning idea. I'm amazed I hadn't heard of such a club. Obviously, the industry wants to sell us billions of products. This just makes so much sense. Particularly, the sustainability benefits. Travelling with one to play short 9 hole courses would be fantastic.
You should do a round with Matt,Peter and Andy with that club
My first thought was, as someone who travels for work/has reps come to town "unannounced", I've been asked to go hit an "executive course" after lunch, or before dinner, and its either rent clubs for WAY too much, or say no, because I didn't ship the clubs, or have to drive home to get them. Keep this in the trunk, or attached to the carry-on, and you're good to go.
I dig it! These are just fun videos to watch!
Love these videos because it proves that even for a near scratch golfer, the equipment barely matters, if at all. Played as well or better with the hybrids and this single club, as he does with his $4000 setup fit specifically to him.
I have noticed that when Rick is doing a "video just for fun" download (i.e. adjustable club in this video, the "all hybrids" video, some kind of vintage club set, etc) he tends to play really well. My theory is that when Rick is using his own clubs in a "competitive" format (Break 75, beat the pro with a 10 shot head start, etc) he puts pressure on himself to play perfectly, and as less-than-perfect shots happen he gets in his own head and goes into the death spiral of self-doubt and dread. When it's a "just for fun" video there is no expectation of a great score, he plays loose and free, and as a result his game is much better.
That might have been the best golf I’ve ever seen Rick play.
Love these classic style of vids in the week to look forward to break 75 on a Friday !
its always a mind bender when i hear pestily's escape from tarkov music while watching golf videos
"now, for this one, 007, since you always play around with my creations, I've built you something you can play a round with."
Q
I love my Qclub I travel with it all over .. it’s a great club
I have a Sunday Loma bag that I use for nine holes. It holds 6 clubs. I would carry the driver , my 54 degree wedge and this club. Maybe a putter
Rick and team. that was a good video. 👍🏻 I first thought it was a gimmick. Turns out it works well. They should change that grip to one with lines on at the standard length for each club. Break 75 needed with this
I live in a neighborhood with a golf course, we walk around the course at night this would be perfect to just take out on a walk and play a hole or practice a little bit
I have one. Carry that, driver + putter. So 3 clubs in a pencil bag. Adjustment is easy once you get used to it.
What's the durability like?
Rick I don't think I've ever seen you make 2 pars and a birdie on the trot so I think a full 18 hole break 75 should be attempted with this club 😂😢
I would love to see you have a tour pro or someone like that try this club out as a challenge. See what they can do with it and what their thoughts are on it as well.
I want one. I had to give my clubs to a mate. No room in a 33m2 apartment.
Thank you Rick for doing this review! I always wanted to see your opinion on this club. I want one just to play around with.
Go back to the old fashioned chipping style with it using a 7 iron for everything around the green... Paul Runyun style. As a kid we would play with putter, 7, 5, and 3 iron in a cloth bag. Total fun!
Thanks Rick. I just ordered this club after viewing your video
Where did you order it from? I had one on order with Amazon since early March, and they just refunded me saying g it was not available.
Ronnie.
Rick, you need to take this club to the HIT studio to figure out your distances, then go back out to the course knowing your yardages.
Does Rick’s audio sound weirdly muffled or something? Like his mic is in his pocket
Sounds fine to me
Yeah it sounds compressed
It could have been a little windy and it caused the lav mic to condense a good bit. I've had that issue with my dji mics before
Inside of his jacket.
Sound is bad, yes
My Dad when he retired had one of the adjustable clubs in the 1980s, he played in Florida on Exeutive courses, loved it.
I'm a roadie who is always on the road and also am stuck at venues for hours upon hours at a time. Having an adjustable club with me, a Rapsodo or Garmin launch monitor, a small hitting mat, and a portable net would be very manageable while traveling and would provide a TON of fun for me and some buddies while killing time!
My grandmother bought me one of these in 1978. Wish I still had it. Nothing new under the sun.
Moved to Doha with my clubs...when going home bk to UK to play Brother...i can see keeping this in UK as really handy
There should be markings on the grip for each iron setting.
Or play it like the cobra one length?
Good idea, but you can just make your own marks exactly where they work best
You tested the Divnik telescopic club years ago. I actually picked one up. I travel with it.
I had one of these when I was younger and I sometimes liked having a high loft wedge with a longer shaft off the tee. Fun twist 😜
Don't we all just stroll down the street with our dog and like magic....a golf course right there and they don't mind you playing a few holes anytime.
I thing, for a fun game after work, with your friends.. just take a lob wedge, this club and maybe driver and it could be a solid round of golf with lot of fun and minimum of weight on your shoulders!
For hill walkers, dog walkers, coast path walkers, etc it’s a great way to hit a few ball on the move. Think I’d be wanting to fit a walking stick end onto the butt of the club, so that when not being used as a club, it’d be a walking stick/walking pole. Perhaps carrying a few soft practice balls as well as some proper balls and a few random tees, it’d have a use almost anywhere.
Technically, although it’s not a legal in competition club, once it’s in a setting it’s in that setting and could be argued that each individual setting being a different club, the setting should be treated as different clubs. Therefore unless you add weights on the move or damage it, then you are not alternating anything else to do with the face or back of the club; in theory it’s x around to legal clubs, much in the way you’d go back to your bag to collect a different club.
I’d happily see special one club speed play events. That’d attract runners to the game 🤣
It’d be a great club to carry in your car boot. Great for a lunch hour at work, where they perhaps have some green space big enough to hit a few balls.
These are still the most fun Rick videos
These are the videos that made Rick so famous and everyone love him. Hope he gets back to these and not just “break 75” with guy. Those are getting a bit boring now
Assuming it comes in a left handed model, it would be a great club if one, for any reason, someone wanted to start playing with the opposite hand for a righty.
Rick, Even if you didn’t use all the settings and just put it in the bag as your putter ! Never seen you putt so well! Haha
Amazing content Rick!
That’s awesome I would love to try one of them out
It'd be perfect to take in my RV camper on road trips where I'm storage poor 👍
When I was in university and relied on my bicycle or public transit to get around everywhere, this would have been a great club to have. While I have no need for it now...I still sort of want one just to try it out.
Very interesting club! 😮
It seems like this would be a great club for Top Golf to have in it's Driving Bays for Golfers to uses that don't have there clubs with them but want to hit some balls..
I’d love to play a one club game. It’s odd, but innovative. You’d be a weirdo on the course to everyone else, but I could fall in love with it… I’d miss my driver and fairway woods. It’s worth a shot.
Q is doing what was done in the 70's. SOLO W73 adjustable iron. Great video as always!
Really amazing
I think Rick has become the nicolas cage of golf reviews.
Ps love you Rick 😘😂
Whoa...when the camera panned down at 2:29....LoL. I thought Rick was levitating.
I think it's time to head home for the day.
Missing file at 2:02.
I really want this now
Better than I thought it would be.
Cool option for people who play par 3s. just bring this and a putter! Maybe bring along a driver if you're playing a full course.
“Just me n my club!”😂
Great for a short par 3 course
I wanted to buy this golf club a year ago when my geography class went on a fieldtrip to the UK and my teacher said there was a golfcourse there but we were only allowed to bring handluggage...
This is the best Rick has every played 😂
Rick needs this in the bag. He’s throwing darrs
In addition to the points mentioned it could be useful for someone who doesn't like the idea of, or physically struggles with, a big heavy golf bag. Adding your favourite putter, Sand wedge and Driver isn't going to add much weight at all but will open up the world of golf.
With a constant shaft length. Short irons should go farther, unless you grip down.
Let’s be realistic, Rick. You know you could be rocking the fanny pack. You could easily put your rangefinder and phone in that. 😂 Enjoyed this review!
That looks great wish it was around when the kids were small and we were driving all over France on holiday.
Would have stuck that in the car and had a few quiet rounds.
Amazing for a pitch & putt. I'm getting one.
Can't say I've ever thought of using an All-In-One club before. However, there is a bonus here, this video can double as your Bryson Dechambeau single length iron video!
I had a pair of clubs much like that when I was a kid to hit oversized airflow balls with.
Now this was what we wanted to see!
This thing would be perfect for the round I play during my annual beach trip
Man was one under through two holes and says it’s not perfect for tough chips. Tough chips are still tough with the best clubs! Haha seems great to me!
Good to see you do anther one of these, I remember the first one you did it looked a bit rickety tbh.
Nice video Jim. Would be nice if you could do a Do & Don't regarding LOFT & Lie adjustments
Do a video with dechambeu but he has to play with this club
It’s a great club. Takes a little getting used to. But shot on two 18 hole rounds just 4 strokes off my handicap.
You and Bryson should play a round with those 3 clubs.
there just needs to be a rule that a field adjustable loft club counts as one club for every available loft setting. so as that club has 11 settings, there could be three more in the bag.
One easy change the makers of the club could make to help golfers deal with different club lengths, is to simply have labelled marks or lines along the grip that mark where the different standard club lengths are instead of having golfers kinda guess how much they have to grip up or down.
that also depends on the length of the person, so that would be a mess I think.
You could line up with your regular clubs and mark grip with a sharpie
Thanks Rick for the low down on the Q-club! It might have it’s perks but frankly I will stick with my full arsenal of clubs 😊
Off.
Love ya rick. Your editor had the day off today.
