Red sled Santa | sleigh restoration part- 4

This is tedious step, we have 4 directions that need to meet up smoothly, so by setting up a temporary top rail with the proper shape we can accurately measure all the ribs correctly.
After setting up the ribs we started assembly of the batten seam.
Each board was steamed for play ability then clamped into place for shaping.
Tedious process but we are getting closer to the top rail.
Carvel planking has wrapped the top rail, once dry we will mix a special glue and sawdust combination then caulk the joints. Once dry we will shape by sanding smooth.
templates of the scroll details have been drawn out ready to be cut.
Lots of scrolling details to be added.
Time to fit and shape to the side panel.
After looking at the single stack we decided to add a second over sized layer with a routed half round and sculpt some details into the face.
Now it's time to apply the scroll details.

Beautiful! I’ve neither the skill nor tools to be able to craft such a masterpiece. I dream that one day a sleigh will appear that has an aluminum undercarriage with rubber wheels that can be steered powered by an electric motor. I’d like Santa’s seat to face forward to drive it but a second longer bench that faces sideways with a step up so families can come and sit while people take photos.
