- We sing about it, decorate our Christmas cards with it, and love to hear the sounds of a horse-drawn wagon or sleigh bedecked in bells. But how many different kinds of bells are there?
So beautiful sound, especially in the snow! The first presented is the favorite of my ears 😊
That’s pretty informative. I wish the actual businesses were accommodating as you work in providing those sounds. Because the traditional sound that you hear in Christmas songs means a lot to me even at 38 years old. Luckily, I found a nice Amish man who not only sent me two free samples, And they were smaller cast bells with the traditional for pie slices as you called them, but I realized that in order to get that truly festive jingle that you hear in the songs, you need the perfectly spherical ones, that is the ones that are the size of either a donut hole or a Lindor truffle. And I consistently find that they are getting increasingly harder to find and more expensive. In fact, the really nice Amish guy made me a really heavy duty strap. I asked him to put the bells on red leather, and he put a divider on it between each bell. he did that so that the bells wouldn’t touch each other if I were to flex the strap for any reason. And because I had inspiration from the silver and gold song, by Burl Ives, I asked him to do the bells and alternating silver and gold. It was most definitely worth the $215. I paid for it, especially when you consider that he actually had to make that for me. He didn’t actually have that in stock.
