Well worth the money Aaron. I do exactly the same. Spent years paying £20 for 6 or 7 ‘O’ rings then found something very similar to this on Amazon. Thanks for always looking out for us shooters buddy. Stay safe. Roger.
I paid tons of money to FX for just a few O-rings and though they were just an expensive item. Then I found hundreds of them for just a few buck. It was then that I knew FX was a greedy company. Thanks for watching.
Hi Aaron very informative , i have that set of o rings when i use to work on high end cars so they are good quality . Hope the birds come out so we can see another hunting video
@@aaroncantrell8819 Hi Aaron i was out at the weekend hunting and testing a new air rifle , it work very well and i did see a few rabbit and pigeon . I got one rabbit at 101 yards and a pigeon at 82 yards so i am happy with the rifle but will be doing more testing this week. all my sound mods are made and the shroud for my P15 just need to put it all together but the hunting come first as i have to keep the farmer happy with my pest control. I will get round to filming soon a hope.
You just earned a sub for your generous efforts… thanks for this info brother… from one air gunner to another…. I’ve been into this hobby for about 5 years and I just love how much of an adventure it’s been. Around every corner lurks a potential tidbit of priceless knowledge or a treasure that you couldn’t believe actually exists . As opposed to firearms where most things have already been discovered and the knowledge about firearms is common and practical not to mention very available in all media forms. Airguns strangely has far fewer dedicated enthusiasts so the info is limited rare and requires an adventurous and creative mindset to be a successful hobbyist collector, tinkerer etc. hell it can be done with determination but one can be an airgunner without being totally broke as well. My collection includes the snowpeak pp750 carbine /pistol 22 cal, the aea hp max 357, aea hp ss plus 30 cal. And the Benjamin maurader in 22 cal. Currently that’s all I got as far as pcps go but I trade and barter a lot but besides the Benjamin I think those will be permanent residents bc they perform outstandingly and their prices are extremely affordable for air guns… I’m looking forward to adding many more but my focus is on performance and budget . I just can justify buying a 2000 or more air gun when so many are available at a fraction of that which to me perform in a matter that doesn’t leave anything to be desired …hope to see you doing your airgun channel and enjoying the hobby for many years to come
Great video Aaron very informative thank you so much for sharing. Just a little FYI silicone O-rings tend to last longer and not dry out as fast as rubber or nitrile
I’m new to PCP airguns, but not new to maintenance. I wonder if there are other materials like PTFE, for example, O-rings that would offer longer life. I’ll do some research and ask some engineers at work and get back to this channel if anyone is interested. This is assuming that manufacturers are using the cheapest rubber available- but charging consumers more than they would pay for better materials.
Because of warranties I really don't think they are using cheap o-rings. There are plenty of other areas to save on costs. As for which o-rings last the longest I would love to know. Thanks.
Thanks for the head up on those "O rings". Your information was very helpful and practical. I purchased replacement O"rings" for my Gauntlet and the price of these was as nearly as much as the price of the Stark 419 "O rings" You save me a bundle by introducing diesel rings to me Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing I'll definitely order some I have the other sets that you originally have I didn't get mine from Harbor Freight but I'll order some of these metric ones thanks for the info.
Nice one Aaron. We can get a similar set over here in the UK at a place called Machine Mart, its a bit like a scaled down Harbour Freight. All the best stay safe
I have that kit and the problem I run into is if I find one with the right ID and OD it's rare that the cross section is the right thickness. I started ordering custom kits from the Oring store on line. Cheep and you can order in bulk.
Have had to replace many. If you’ve got a dependable pcp that will last for years, there’s a good chance the o-rings will be the only thing needing changes. My Harbor Freight sets have found uses in many of my PCP’s.
The O ring inside the barrel to my FX Impact gave out some. I used a Q tip and put dabbed & rubbed some Silicone that I got from Home Depot it said O ring on the tube . It helped out but it reduced it to about 90%
Great video! I was just on the Harbor Freight, and they have a metric 397 piece set for $8.99. I have a Hatsan Vectis that has a slow leak. Since it's made in Turkey, I'm pretty sure I need metric.
I have enough to do in the hours and hours of times it takes to produce these videos. So I would hope that those who may need information could at least take a moment to ask for it. Thanks for watching.
No and I am surprised because it is over three years old. But I may have to soon. If so I will do a video it if no one else has done one. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tip Aaron , appreciate it . . . really ! There's just one thing about this set that 'bugs' me . . . and that is the fact that there's probably more material/energy in the container of the product then in the product itself. So in fact you throw more away then you actually use. I hate to point it out , but that's something we need to be aware of more . . . if we want our kids to share the same quality of life that we have had. Sorry if this is a bummer , but I think it's important. 🤔. . . 🙂
Believer me the container will never be thrown away because there is no way to use all of the O rings. Given the state of our nation's politics along with global warming and Corvid, I think our kids quality of life has much more to fear than little plastic containers. Sorry if the is a bummer, but I think it's important to point out. Thanks for watching.
I'm a bit late to the party but you bring up manufacturers o-rings and their price made me curious so I looked into it. When it comes to FX there are two different types of o-rings that they use for grades I should say buna 70 and 90. The main difference that I believe are guns are going for between these two different grades is for the stiffness. So I'm pretty sure the only downside to using just whatever you can find is maybe more ware if two soft and possibly not sealing correctly of too stiff. At least when it comes to the FX guns if you go on their website you can look at the blueprints and it will tell you which grade of o-ring to use and what size. I'm about to buy me an set of cases myself. I got a leak in my dreamline. I also live in Minnesota so having a couple of different grades of o-rings depending on what I'm working on make sense. At the end of the day I don't think it really matters.
I must admit that I have not used many of these after market o-rings but I must admit that the ones I have used have worked great. As for my FX products (FX Impact Mk1 and Wildcat Mk1)',like your Dreamline, they both have had serious o-ring problems (leaks) costing hundreds of dollars to be fixed by FX USA. So I don't hold their o-rings or other products in very high regard. Thanks.
I have the red box and another box of O-rings that I got on Ebay for $8 bucks each ! Enough to last me a lifetime ! I have every size I'll ever need. I already fixed the leak in my HW100 and it cost me about ¢1 penny !
Now tell me this, how can you purchase FX charge tons of money for just a few O-rings when one can purchase hundreds of them for pennies. The greed is amazing. Thanks.
FX guns are too expensive not to supply o rings with the guns. I have several inexpensive guns and they all came with o rings and tools. FX just want to nickel and dime as well as trick all their customers into spending more money for stuff they don't need. Thanks and good luck.
I got all the o rings for my Wildcat by looking at the spec sheet on their website finding the correct sizes then going to oringsandmore.com get them all for like $8
Smart move. I made the mistake of purchasing O-rings for both my Impact and Wildcat from FX and they made me pay dearly. Thanks for the link and the website information.
This is great info, but do know incase you don't that different colours then black are different grades of o-ring! they are not all rubber either! But this here is a great start! down below someone mentioned " Oringsandmore.com" great company to and very helpful check them out!
Can we use this same orings in fx airguns or anyother high quality option for fx because in india no single spare part or oring available of fx airgun also please tell me how long last fx airguns doing good what is there lifetime
I ordered what looks to be the same thing from Amazon after developing a leak in my gauntlet after only around 20 shots through it. These o rings are still holding air, thats all I'm saying lol
These O rings have worked great for me. However It is unusual to for any O rings to fail that quickly. Was the gauntlet still under warranty. Thanks and best of luck.
@@aaroncantrell8819 it's possible that it was still under warranty, but it was my first PCP, and I quickly bought more so it didn't get shot much. Not sure how long I had had it. Probably cheaper for me to buy the o rings and do it myself anyway than mess with the hassle of shipping back and forth to Umarex.

Hi Aaron , Something else to add is using a brass pick set to avoid scratching the metal . Sometimes called a divers o-ring pick set .
