I need a 20 part bus upgrade series ASAP.
What he said ^
sameeee
THIS^
Bus is badass, check this guy out. Making moves.
This please!!!
Dude those Laps were so much fun! Glad we linked up and got to shred for the entire event 🔥
great driving dude! subbed to your channel!
Sick driving!
This is what I said about those laps! "Those laps with Bryan with all the door taps were savage as fuck and some of the most fun I've had watching this channel. So god damned good!"
sick car and driving, brother!
I’m glad you did also lol
Does anybody else get emotional when they see a video like this I have been watching Taylor for years and to see where he has come from to a showcase like this showing up in a rig with the baddest car at the event lap after lap of limiter sending chills down everyone’s back the shit is insane and the grind is unmatched
Taylor is a mf hustler bro
no
No.... Just Idiot engine & car Abuse with More $$$$ than common cents !!
@@tomstrum6259 ignorance is bliss right bud?
@@tomstrum6259 car abuse??? lmao wtf
For the steering aspect of the rv I’d recommend an electric grease gun. Tons of joints and grease points. On my 38ft Monaco rv doing that tightened up the slack in the steering a good bit.
That's a good idea my m12 milwaukee grease gun was a game changer with my semi
Would the grease not be compensating for worn joints?
@AdmissionGaming not if the slack is from lack of greasing in the first place
And that driving tight is more fatiguing, then that little dead zone, when you get the half wheel turn and still pointing straight you got problems
Hey Taylor. As someone who works daily as roadside assistance (only tires) for these rigs. What tires are you running on this RV? If you really plan on using this for longer trip I would suggest to at least buy one new tire. Keep it unmounted in the RV somewhere.. unmounted means you can still put stuff inside the tire where the rim normally would go. Certain tire sizes are in certain areas difficult to find and will cost a lot. If you have one tire you are going to be way better set up to be back driving fast because a tire swap roadside for these is almost always available, tires might not be. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy brother.
Definitely carry a unmounted tire is a no brainer
Love the new bus, had an idea that it might be too far out there but would make loading and unloading the car easy peasy. How about a car "tray" similar to the ones used in the airfreight of cars. Drive onto the tray outside do all your strapping and such lift the tray with the car and lock it down using built-in locks in the floor?
best idea ive seen so far. Would be a challenge to design it slim enough
There is something like that, it fits in a long bed pickup truck, picks up motorcycles and anything else that will fit on it. Use that as a base and build a tray for the car and attach it to it. If there is room under the floor that may be good space to attach the mechanism and keep the profile low along with hiding some mechanical stuff.
Yeah, I think you are describing a bed slideout. Works great with a spacious cap@@airflez
That is an excellent idea.
if you're going to use the bottom compartments for tires, you might consider building a tray or something on sliders so you're not climbing in and out of there to get the tires in and out. maybe even just runners and some clamps/brackets, and you could just load a whole tire dolly into the compartment, roll it in and out with the tires still on it
e: also might be convenient to add an air compressor and tank so that you can run air tools off of the bus while you're in the pits, and/or air up and down your tires as needed
The QuickJacks should definitely be part of the bus package too.
Came to comment basically the same thing. Something like the cargo sliders they make for pickup beds and work vans that have high weight capacity when extended. As long as there's enough height in the bottom compartments, it would make loading the compartments a lot easier.
The bus already has a air compressor and tanks duh. Why add more weight more things hooked up to the power system when you just need a hose hooked up to the compressor tank on the bus. Besides drift events generally have a tire guy on site to mount tires.
@@SmittyCCTGif u add rollers how do u stop the tires from banging around like bowling balls destroying the doors and everything else there smashing into.
@johnsnow1355 I suggested cargo sliders, not rollers. They're like heavy duty drawers made to go in storage compartments like that. Google rv cargo sliders and look at the images. If he has the vertical space and can find ones rated at the weight capacity it would make loading a lot easier. Could probably tie down tracks or d rings on them too to strap stuff to the top surface of the drawer. Usually they have locking mechanisms but if not he could fab up a latch to keep the slider from moving around.
I think the best part about this video is the very end, you can see the pure joy of his set up in his expressions I love seeing people truly happy! Congrats on getting to experience the dream set up!
the fact that you had to drive ur miata at its limit to compete with other cars is benefiting you now in the vette . cant wait to see more high level comps . and the wastegate dumps look great at night
I love how the e30 uses flicks and the weight rather than a hydro. Looks so much cooler than a fast dive
thats why driving low powered cars is more fun and its better to learn on
E30 have some wicked semi trailing arm over steer, that makes them work well for that
The Scandinavian flick just looks so much more smooth and controlled. 100% agree
For the door, you should get a security curtain type thing that rolls up.. Seems like you would have the room between the door and the clamshell to fit it in... Also, cover the roof with a bunch of solar panels, save on generator gas! On a sunny day you might even have enough juice to run your ACs!
Having the flip Taylor suggested would also foul up the winch for the dropdown platform. The thing is he wants to have a door that seals up tight that would make life hard with a shutter but I get your thinking.
The generator is diesel and diesel generators are incredibly efficient would take a long time and even more use to justify the time effort and materials to go to solar.
The amount of solar inverter and batteries needed for ac is not nearly as efficient or convenient as a generator. My $7k set up can only power one of my trailers ac units and it would only last for 3 hours before it drained the batteries.
What about a wind farm style blades on the top of it or a on a trailer as well so they can charge up while driving!
The extra batteries and stuff on the roof is really not needed. Anytime he travels he will have shore power at a RV park or the gen set running.
Unless you're trying to consistently take multiple cars to the track this has to be the best solo setup ever! Congratulations brother!!!
You should install side view cameras. Makes it easier for lane changes.
You can really see the difference in the clutch just in Taylor’s driving. Things looking more and more like the miata every time you drive. Love to see it 14:58
a small thing that makes a big difference ive seen at a trackday: a fitted car cover for your car incase of sudden bad weather you wouldnt want to leave the awnings out but could throw the cover on the vette quickly to keep it dry(ish). looking forward to all the little projects on the big bus
You can hear the difference in the new clutch. Theres no huge "clunk" from the old one instantly locking up after hand braking
This!!. Everytime id hear a clutch dump its like its shocked the whole car.
So much smoother and controllable now it seems like. Kind of just flows now like it should. He can probably be even closer proximity wise now since its more predictable.
That new clutch seems like a game changer. Those are the cleanest runs and shifts I think you've ever had.
The flip up door was exactly what i was thinking would be nice! Definetly do it, it will also make a roof if you want to stand on the platform!
The bus and you acquiring it makes me want to consider my dreams again. I love your content and thank you for continuing to inspire.
When you park it in beside the shop, drive it in. Then you can load from that spot without having to move. Also, the side door of the rv would face the shop. Get an rv plug over there. With the new back door, it would be a good idea to be able to close up the area (for a/c) but still be able to see out
I was gonna write the same thing. Thats how i wouldxm set it up🥳🙂
Those laps with Bryan with all the door taps were savage as fuck and some of the most fun I've had watching this channel. So god damned good!
driving up to the track just absolutely stunting on everyone else there. loving the bus content, cant wait to see it with all the awnings open and slide outs out fully kitted.
Stoked the bus is working out, looking forward to see the upgrades, thanks for the content.
Bus is an asset m KEEP IT and leave the outside finish alone, it looks good and right at home at any track... NICE
So happy to see the race bus working out. Also made me smile hearing the Mac Miller and Brother Ali playing. Keep killing it Taylor👏
Love to hear that OG Mac bumping at the end, QUALITY vibes all around
Very cool setup! Just the presence of a big bus (home base on wheels) is inspiring. Looking forward to upgrades and more videos.
Hey Taylor, if you put a bathroom door mirror on the back of the bus inside the doors, you could use it to guide your self on to the ramp. Adding lines once you get a perfect placement
What a sweet rig! Can't wait to see all the improvements and customizations
Taylor you and your team have come so far. I remember the 350z and early miata days. Awesome.
You add the right amount of drifting to your videos. Some others just will have 8 minutes of what seems like the same thing. You add the best parts and leave the BS. Love the Bus content, can't wait to see it transform
Lil trailer with the merch booth built in (awning, pop up side and wire grids to hang stuff off of and a couple of tables) and you got a damn fine set-up for every occasion.
The bus is wicked.
Can't wait for the build..
If you want to make the most out of the space in the back for people to sleep in (say there is a bunch of you and other friends and it's crazy hot and humid) maybe some tie-down tracks at the side and a bunch of hammocks could give you a second layer of people in the AC?
So wanna see you give this thing better and quieter ride.. maybe even go as far as doing better body mounts but deff put it on air and get it riding better at least.. would also allow you to tilt the bus a little to make the ramp as flat as possible for the car to get off and on when the ground isn't level.
Also wanna see what you come up with for the rear doors converting to a tail-gate. Get some good thick weather seal mounted on the bus, maybe some hinges from a suv with a big tail_gate or a van.. you might even be able to use the current doors with some modication as the lid.. you could even have it on a popper and auto open (or even close with parts from newer cars) with a fob press once you have the ramp down. (Personally i think just a popper and some good strong but damped gas strutts would be ideal for convenience and reliability)
I like the way it looks, put garagebuilt above the checkered flag on each side and it would look even better.
Taylor, I don’t remember what brand or model it was, but we had a f650 with a lift gate that would lift/fit a car with no problem. It didn’t use a winch, instead it used a pair of chains and hooks/pins and a pair of vertical posts that would drop down and anchor to the ground. It used the up/down motion to close the door. You would raise the door about halfway, hook the chains that were mounted to the top to the pins in the door that were about half way up the door. When you lower it it would cause the door/ramp/lift to swing shut. Then you would bring it back up where at the top it would slot into a tapered channel that would force it to seal against the door frame.
Maybe someone knows what I’m talking about? I thought it was pretty clever. And I immediately thought about it when I saw the problem you were having with the order of operations and stuff.
It was like your existing setup, but just remove the doors and make the ramp seal against the bus. Then get rid of the winch and add a second set of hooks that you hook up when you want the door/ramp to swing shut when you lower the lift.
taylor is absolutely rippin it! love this car and the build process so dope to see
Man 😮 still shocked at the progress of Taylor's drift programs growth, from sharing garages to now is "Livin Da Dream" 👏
Famous last words, "It can't be that complicated..."
On the back door, I'd only hesitate to change it to overhead because then you have to install a beefy structure for that much weight to be suspended. And it's not going to seem like much when it's calm. But you have to account for rain and wind or when a hinge freezes up. My suggestion would be to see if you can relocate the hinges for the back doors further out, almost like a piano hinge type of setup for it first.
When you pulled into the track you see all the commoners w/thier pickups and trailers using pop-ups for shade w/no AC, 😂😂
Drifting with Brian reminds me racing with Ben. Excellent driving 🎉
As a CDL driver, I rip the horn once or twice before moving just to let people know my building of a rig is moving now. Just words of wisdom. Awesome rig!
This is such an amazing idea I can't believe coach manufacturers haven't picked this idea up, these things r goldmines for car enthusiasts!
How does Taylor ray not have 1m subs yet yall???!! Let’s get this man to 1 mill!! He deserves it!
Can’t wait for the “I adjust the headlights on my racecar” video. 😎
Amazing seeing the bus get it's first proper use and the joy on your face!
Holy crap--from the sick new hauler dream setup to the absolutely feral driving skills and shredding; having great beats bumping at the end on the drive home... The best video I have seen from this channel by far. Thanks.
just hitting the limiter after every lap gives me goose bumps every time such an amazing sound
It's funny how they stay on ac monitoring duty. The door goes up just enough for something to fit under it and then immediately back down😂
Love that dude in the performance plumbing beamer... that dude was rad! Got the party going!
Long time subscriber, all the progress over the years has been very inspiring to me over the years. Shoutout Taylor for rocking that Mac on the way out of the event 🎈💙
Enjoying just taking in your excitement over this whole thing. Epic. Keep it coming.
The bus works! It's amazeballs! It worked beautifully. Just as beautiful as that sick drift on the bank! Can't wait to watch you make it the Garage Built co. Special hauler! Really happy for you bro.
You got to be stoked on that new clutch and how much easier it is to move the car at low speeds
So excited to see the bus project and upgrades!! I’m exited to see what you do in the living space. New tint. Gravel the driveway for the bus parking spot. Etc
I missed the video of this bus so far, this is amazingly awesome!!!! It's so big. Your driven a house for real. The cabin is pimped out. Love this for you and the crew ❤❤❤
Congrats dude, been watching the Journey for so long and it so cool to see the progress from before you and Ben got the house together to now
I'm glad to see you are really enjoying it and I look forward to you tinkering with it!
It's awesome that you have been able to do the upgrade to the bus! It has been a long ride, watching you progress, and it is great that you can step it up for the journey, and improve your track situation. I am sure that when you were doing KK with Ben his RV was handy, but this is a whole other level!
The quality of these videos I at least feel like I haven't appreciated enough, very well shot and edited especially without a designated videographer
Sliders for the storage for sure. Solar panels would be pretty useful with some LiFePo4 batteries for the power storage, you could link 'em to the generator and keep 'em topped off. Cameras all around to make parking/driving easier and looking around at night without needing to go outside. Those small flashing LED lights for hazard markers if you need to pull over/white light needs. A small air compressor would be nice to have with some quick attach points. Outlets on the side for fans or usb ports when you're posted under the awning, and lights for the awning to make it a chill spot for the ladies and homies kickin' it by the rig. I'd definitely consider one of those cheap small clothes washers for longer stays, you could hang dry the drawers and socks and T-shirts in the back, a rig like that with a few people could use a way to wash small batches of clothes. A designated fuel container perhaps, lots of potential to need extra fuel on hand especially if you're using it to get out of dodge for a while for whatever reason and dont want to be limited to normal fuel stores. If both sides dont have an awning, maybe an awning for the other side to keep the sun off that side of it and have more of a merch side and your shop side, it would ease the load on the A/C units too with both sides shaded. Leveling devices? Water hoses? Shore lines? Cones/flares to couple with the LED flashers? Outside speakers? T-Ray, you're the man. Super proud of all that you've pulled off
Been loving the content lately! That RV is every real mans dream. And the cars you build are top notch man. Really frraking impressive.
Great news on the lift inner door on the back of the bus, makes sense in so many ways.
It's cool seeing everyone enjoy your badass ride! Thanks for your videos!
Having a nice place to chill out can be priceless. And to think you'll only make things better!!
IDEAS 💡 make removable access panels in floor of lift and removable adjustable post style supports full access to work on the car 💯🔥💪
That bus is serious Baller Status!!! Enjoy it!!
Wow!! That’s amazing. Such a nice set up man! 🔥🔥🔥
THIS NEW BUS HAULER IS SO DAMN NICE
its good to be comfy at the track
Great and fun driving to watch, you guys are much better than I thought. You seem to have that Vette sorted out. Ylur buddy led you out nicely, just the rigfht amount of rubbing. The bus seems great, not sure what a door change would entail.
Great vlog! Love the hauler and the vette. Now I see why you bring so many tires along for the racecar, didnt know you drifted with it!Yeah, the back end of the bus is like a fortress, two many doors and could/should be simplified. Have a good one!
Im super excited and couldve never guessed you would get a setup like that!
What a pleasure to watch you drive Taylor!!!
Just love the buss. Thanks for sharing
Great video Taylor. That hauler is really a nice set-up. I pitted on a couple of local Super Stock Oval cars in the mid 70s Those guys both had ramp trucks and you invariably got to tracks out of town and figured out you often were missing the right spare parts to keep racing. Not to mention the extra vehicles to move what you had to have to race.
Now this is one hell of a BIG flex, showing up in this hauler/RV.
Rollin in absolutely flexin. Love it.
It probably won't work with the RV's engine placement but another creator on youtube uses a Dhollandia DH-LSU.40 cantilever lift that looks really cool. It acts as its own door as well for storage so would save a bunch of time in the setup if it could be installed.
Teflon Dry film the outer tracks on middle ramp will make it slide in like butter
Love that compartment for the tires 👌
Absolutely love it as is! Enjoyed the video!!
Looks like yall had fun congratulations!!
Maybe add a small roll up garage door like the ones in your shop. You could use a roll up awning for sun shade. You could also hang screens on the flip up door to keep out the bugs. Weld up some removable aluminum railings so nobody falls off the rear ramp when you use it as a viewing platform. They could hang on the wall when not in use.
What a guy Brian, you slapped the pi*s out of his door and he thanked you.
The internal backdoor change, That door should have windows and a pass through single door for when using the ramp as a viewing platform. That way you could sit inside and see out while holding the AC in with easy access to the "porch"
Can't wait for the next bus upgrade video. I'm jazzed up for that!
I am always so impressed with your driving skills!
Like the videos on the bus, and grew up watching parking lot time racing, but have never gotten in to, or understood the drifting craze, but definitely need to look into it
To get rid of the doors to the garage area, you could possibly put some thick seals around the back that would seal up against the ramp/car lift when its closed. Could possibly use some of the seals that you would put at the bottom of a garage door, but put them all the way around the opening 🤔
13 minutes is the fastest I’ve seen your video, I’m way to stoked on this!
Brian flips the bird well, too 😂
Glad to see you're enjoying bus stuff
He'll yeah . Can't wait to see it on a long trip
Folks out there in pop up tents and Taylor Ray rolls up in a tour bus with a vette in the back. #goals #awesome
love the Content. Have to say you have the coolest car hauler out of any other UA-camr . 🥰🤘🔥 can’t wait to see you winning events with the vet.
Taylor, loving the upgrades and the in-depth views. I've worked on a bunch of IMSA and TransAm teams, and I've seen more than a few teams simply remove the driver's door (some even use quick-release hinges) for loading and unloading. Makes it sooooo much easier to load cars in the top of the trailer (we're usually dealing with EXTREMELY tight headroom in our rigs). With the Vette being so wide, some QR hinges where you can pop the door off might make a massive difference in ease-of-loading. That said, keep on rocking' it man! Been following you for a long time and it's pretty epic to see how far you've come.
Looking forward to watching the upgrades for bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again dude happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those were some sick laps and tandems dude hell yea
Really nice set up! Great channel! I was recently at Gridlife at Lime Rock and my buddy just recently bought a custom rig set up like yours but not flatnose. Unfortunately he did not have it with him as it's still getting shipped. He got a wicked sick Peterbilt with a highly tuned CAT motor. It's all decked out. I cant wait to check it out!
very impressive. So happy for you.
I just love that Taylor’s videos are 30+ mins on the reg 👌🏼
Thats some smooth driving. 🎉🎉🎉
