I'm so excited for you to release this incredible collaboration between us and for the VGM remix community to hear what we grinded to put together! You wrote an amazing introduction to my channel and myself as a person that I'm so grateful and appreciative for you have no idea. You continue excel in all aspects of music creation and as a person and I hope you enjoyed this process every bit as much as I did. As well I need to express how much I love the visual art in this one. I find Kali's art really maturing and expanding into more complex animations and its charming and emotional to see Link riding Epona out through the desert in her art style. This one came together so nicely and I have to thank you so much for this opportunity!! 🎸🔥
Kibatsu! Man, what a genuine honor and privilege it was to be able to work with you on this remix - thank you for the opportunity, as well! It means the world to know that it was as special of an experience for you as it was for me. I couldn't agree more that the music came together beautifully, and I am just so proud of how rich and full of heart it sounds! Every time I listen to this remix (which, quite frankly, is a lot!) I'm just astounded by your skillful and passionate playing. The varied articulations and effects really make the guitars come to life, and subtle details like the fret slides, note twangs, strings buzzing, and natural sounds from the guitar body give it such a zesty, authentic sound. And man, don't even get me started on the incredible arrangement you came up with. The melody variations feel like natural extensions of the theme, which I feel is especially difficult for a piece so established as this one. Similarly, your improvised segments following the key change are straight-up brilliant, and one of my absolute favorite moments is at 2:11 with that gorgeous duet, and the way the melody and harmony interact with those fluid grace notes and slides. If I knew more about guitar playing, I could probably make more pointed remarks, but I really just want to express how impressed I am with both your performance and arrangement! Thank you for your thoughtful remarks on the visuals, and it's heartening for both Kali and I to hear that you feel her art is improving and evolving with the new illustrative styles and approaches she's trying. She's recently gotten into making animations, and it just blows my mind how anyone could draw several frames of an object or character with such consistency and fluidity. I know that she spent even more time than usual on the art assets here, and your specific mention of her designs makes those efforts feel realized! It brings me a great deal of joy to know that what I wrote in the description meant a lot to you - thank you for that! Each month, I want to highlight the talent and character of a featured artist, and it's admittedly tough to strike a balance between providing as detailed an endorsement as I can and keeping it to a length that people won't be deterred by. I know (or at least, I'd like to think) that a good number of people in this community read the descriptions and appreciate context for the project and the people involved, and it warms my heart to no end that so many people care and take a real interest in each other, both musically and personally. Again, my most heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to work on this project together. I've long wanted to remix Gerudo Valley, and it was a dream come true to be able to team up with such a talented guitarist and producer to make it happen. And I'm very much looking forward to our next collaboration, my friend! 💛
Wow, this is incredible! The guitar is so smooth, huge praise to Kibatsu!! And of course your rhythm section is fun and full of energy, as always! This is going in my heavy rotation for SURE!
Thank you, NostalJack!! I know the Zelda series has a special place in your heart, so it means a huge amount to hear that you enjoyed the remix so much. ^_^ I'm really happy to see your enthusiastic praise of Kibatsu, and I couldn't agree more - absolutely massive props to him for his wonderful guitar playing here. His skill and passion are immense, and the fact that he was able to articulate the notes so deftly - and there were some _quick_ note runs here - is testament to that. It was truly a pleasure to work with him! And thank you for your kind remarks regarding the rhythmic and supporting elements! Since this song has been remixed so many times (and rightfully so!) I tried to take more of an atmospheric approach, like what I imagined a nighttime trek across a desert would sound like. It's heartening to hear that it came across as energetic and fun, even! And wow, that's some seriously high praise to hear that it's worthy of a frequent-listen playlist! Thanks again for the enthusiastic comment, my friend! 💛
Absolutely stellar from everyone involved! This feels like a triumphant return to the Desert after the great evil has been vanquished! Kibatsu's guitar playing blends in excellently with this remix, with the beautiful legatos and melodies playing beautifully with the electronic elements! On it's own it's absolutely lovely to listen to and take in! The remix itself has a lot of needed intensity, wonderfully given by the percussion, and the added instruments in the background such as the horns, flutes (I believe) and vocal beats really add to the environment and make this feel more official! And the art and animation, once again, is stunning and is always a fun time to experience! Kali's really shown her chops lately and this is no exception. Epona especially is so fluid and well-animated, it's beautiful! All of you have done amazing! 🔥🔥
Thanks so much, Danny! Your comments are always so heartfelt and full of character, and I really appreciate your taking the time to listen so intently and write at length about all aspects of the video. And I like the way you described how the scene feels - we weren't sure at what point in the story this would take place, but it's awesome to hear that it has such a grand atmosphere! I really appreciate your remarks on Kibatsu's guitar playing, and how it fits into the mix. Like you, the guy has incredible talent and passion, and his playing has such character with widely varied articulations, note bends, fret slides, and a host of other techniques. I have to also mention that he did an incredible job arranging the guitar melodies and harmonies, and I especially love his improvised segments following the key change. And you know I love hybrid instrumentation where acoustic and electronic instruments are integrated, so this was really a joy to work on! And speaking of instrumentation, thank you for your specific mention of the percussive, supporting, and other melodic elements! I finally got my hands on some Kontakt instruments, and the Session Horns really put in a lot of work here, alongside the brass presets from FLEX's Essential Winds pack - I feel like FLEX is one of the most underrated VSTs out there! I did consider using flutes (as well as an ocarina), but I couldn't quite find a sound that meshed well with the guitars, brass, and choral sounds; however, some of the vocal chops are so heavily processed that they ended up having a synth flute sort of tonal quality - I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it! But I'm flattered to hear that these different instruments helped to give the music more of an official sense! Thank you also for your kind feedback regarding Kali's artwork! She worked on the Link and Epona GIF over the course of two weeks, constantly refining and touching up the different frames, so she's thrilled to hear that you found that animation particularly smooth! Kali and I have both really been enjoying trying new approaches, and it means the world that you've been so encouraging of the different musical and visual styles we've attempted over the years. You make a tremendous impact on this community, both with your passionate music videos and the way you celebrate other people's creations (your Friday Artist Spotlight posts continue to be a weekly highlight for me, by the way). The VGM remix community is seriously lucky to have you, man. Thank you again! 💛
First things first - That animation is so sick!! I love how it looks detailed enough to have subtle movements. You perfectly captured the expansiveness that this area of OOT demonstrated all those years ago. The music here is so cinematic but familiar. I really like the drumming here, it's so infectious yet laid back, fitting for a tiresome journey through the Haunted Wasteland. I really like the space in this mix, it all sounds so serious and determined. KibatsuMusic's guitar is just phenomenal. It has so much passion in it, the way they switch up and add to the composition. I can tell they must have really enjoyed playing that, I know I would! It's incredible what these collaborations can bring to a remix. I'm really happy to see you still kick it with more and more people and help this community grow! There is so much detail that goes into these videos EQ, I don't know how you manage everything but it surely pays off in the end. This video was like the perfect blend of nostalgia. It took me back to being a kid again and just wandering around in this timeless game. Doing that endless desert puzzle was so rewarding back then, because the desert really did feel like it went on forever. Especially when you get lost and lose a heart ahaha. Your music is starting to sound more and more unique with every mix. I don't know if it's new techniques or just experience but there's absolutely been a noticeable change in it. I always look forward to your uploads because your remixes are always made with so much passion and creativity. It really speaks to your appreciation for the art. I hope your channel continues to grow and you be rewarded for your hard work and commitment! Keep it up my friend, you're doing a very great thing for this community and I know you'll only to continue to do more! 💎 *Arrives at the Carpet Merchant* "Hey how much can I get for these red flags I found?" 🚩
Thank you so much for the amazing words about the guitar part! And I agree that it amazes me how EQ can continue to produce massive songs every single month of this quality and continues to develop his unique sound and style which is so awesome to see!
Titan! Man, it is a genuine pleasure to read your comments, and my apologies for taking this long to reply, but I wanted to make sure that I had an opportunity to respond at length. Looks like Kibatsu already beat me to it, though! 😅 It seriously means the world that you take the time to watch and listen with such intent, and that you comment on all aspects of the video. This visualizer in particular was a challenge to do, as it made use of certain effects I hadn't used before and forced me to come up with some unorthodox solutions to certain snags along the way. For example, Navi and the Phantom Guide never appear behind the foreground objects at night because there's a darkening effect on everything at night, so for those two objects not to be dulled by it, I had to layer a different iteration of them in front of everything else. This is why Navi rushes ahead at the end, right before that pillar in the foreground comes into view; the Phantom Guide appears before the pillar and stays ahead of it for the same reason.😆I figured I'd mention that because you've probably come across similar scenarios that have prompted you to get creative with how objects interact. Or maybe there's something obvious that I'm missing. There usually is... In any case! I really appreciate your mention of the animations in particular. Kali recently got a new drawing tablet with a program that's designed for making sketches and animations. I was amazed at how quickly she picked it up, and by the next day, she already had a finished animation of the celestial Zelda and a rough draft of Link riding Epona! It was a lot of fun working with animated elements, and I tried to utilize a parallax effect to create the illusion that the scene extends back for miles - I'm happy to hear that it came across as appearing vast and expansive! And I couldn't agree more that playing through the Desert Wasteland was incredibly rewarding, despite how daunting it was. I'm a sucker for desert levels in general, and I feel like Nintendo does an incredible job of making desert levels fun and mysterious (e.g., Paper Mario's Dry Dry Desert, Banjo Kazooie's Gobi's Valley). Getting to the Desert Colossus in OoT was such a thrill, as you felt like you really triumphed and made it through the sandstorm, and now the last temple was finally in sight! Thanks so much for your detailed commentary on the music, as usual! I couldn't agree more that Kibatsu did a top-tier job with his playing, and your mention of his passionate playing, as well as the creativity in his arrangement really puts a smile on my face - and his! :D His technique is seriously so good, and it was awesome to see him go all-out with an authentic Flamenco style. This is a song I've wanted to remix for years now, but it wasn't until I met Kibatsu that this smoldering idea caught fire! And thank you for your remarks regarding the drums and other supporting elements! I really wanted it to be atmospheric and cinematic, yet easy on the ears, and a big focus was trying to make it sound as spacious and immersive as I could. Kibatsu's insight concerning how the guitars should be incorporated into the arrangement was critical here, and I think it helped me to become more comfortable with integrated real recorded instruments into a digital production - something I hope to do at least once per year from here on out! And honestly, it's been such a joy to collaborate with different people in the community, and I feel like it really unlocks new potential in the music, allowing for more variation in sound style and technique. Speaking of which, I seriously can't overstate how much of an impact you've had on my journey as a remixer, and hearing that you say that you feel the music is sounding ever more unique just makes my heart swell with pride. I've been making a real, concerted effort to try and branch out with new genres and techniques each month, and it's so heartening to see that it's been noticeable. As you know, I always used to play it rather safe, but since the Port Prisma remix, which used only real-sounding instruments, I've approached each project with the intent of trying something fresh and unprecedented for the channel, even if it's just something small, like the use of a new instrument. And honestly, I've been having more fun than ever (and I was already having fun!) and I feel like I'm able to learn substantially more with each project. My sincere hope is that people will always be a little surprised each month, and that they'll enjoy hearing a variety of sound styles over time. And similarly, Kali enjoys the opportunity to try new art styles and modes of presentation - we're really both committed to improving and it means so much to see you affirm that goal of ours! By the way, I always look forward to your ending remarks, and this one legit made me laugh out loud. It's so dang clever, and I'm cracking up, picturing Link struggling to carry all these gigantic flag posts, completely oblivious to how badly he's just screwed things up for future desert-goers. I can just see the look of resignation on the carpet merchant's face... Thanks again for everything, my friend! 💛
@@KibatsuMusic Thank you, Kibatsu! That is such high praise, and it means the world to know that you feel I've been able to remain consistent in that regard. I certainly will keep working towards continual improvement and putting 100% into every remix! ^_^
Gerudo Valley; a classic!! I was trying to figure out why this remix felt so much more vibrant than the original the second I started listening, and it didn't take me long to realize it was the added percussion! An issue I've always had with the song is that it gets a bit repetitive with so little added background and variation. You did a great job at bringing this song new life! Especially with those guitar pitch changes near the end. I love a good strong finish, as anyone does!! Great to hear your stuff as always, Equalyze! Keep up the great work!
Heyy, Penguin King! It's great to see you! Thanks so much for listening, and for taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment - I'm delighted that you enjoyed our rendition of this iconic tune! ^_^ Wow, what a compliment, to hear that this remix holds up to the original, and even surpasses it in some regards - thank you for that! I really appreciate your mention of the percussive and background elements, as I wanted those to help make the music as atmospheric and immersive as possible, and it was a bit of a challenge to find different ways to do that throughout the various sections. I think Kibatsu's playing really is the difference-maker here, and the extent to which he utilized various techniques and pitch modulation really brings out new life in the melody, as you mentioned. We're both very proud of this remix, and it's encouraging to read your praise of it. Thanks again for the wonderful comment! :D
This is a MASTERPIECE Equalyze! I cannot believe how far your talent has come! From when I first found your channel your music and visuals were already top tier and you've just kept catapulting with improvement like Link through his adventures! As you tackle more and more projects you just keep leveling up! Your unstoppable momentum is absurd, the juggernaut of remixers! This might just be my favorite remix of yours yet and THAT is saying something! Your intros are always impeccable and this is no exception! The seamless energy shifts are UNREAL and the instrumentation is PERFECTLY balanced and mixed! Also Kibatsu sounds AMAZING on Guitar! I cannot get enough of his sound! And I MUST mention how extraordinary that key change is! You and Kibatsu went WILD with this one! :O You and Kali have kept an insane level of quality going for the visuals! I am always floored by how beautiful the visuals are! Kali's work is spectacular as always! You two are masterminds with visual creativity! The combination of music and visuals simultaneously telling the story of Link crossing the Gerudo Desert is such an emotional nostalgic trip! I know my comment is super late for this, but I could not let my thoughts go unshared for this STELLAR display of creativity and talent! Thank you for this Legendary production! :D
Steel, thank you so much!! I really can't put into words what this comment means to me. It is incredibly heartening to hear that you feel I've improved so noticeably since we first met on UA-cam. My goal, as I always say, is to improve continually and sustainably, and I'm delighted to hear that I've been on the right track! And wow, to be likened to Link's growth as a hero is pretty much the coolest compliment anyone could receive - thank you! It puts a big smile on my face to know that you enjoyed this one so much, and that it ranks so highly for you - especially given your love for the Zelda series and its music. I have been trying to make a bit more impact with my intros, and I appreciate your remarks on that in particular! You always seem to know exactly what aspects of the music I put the most thought into, because I really wanted this arrangement to have more distinct energy shifts than usual - I'm happy to see that they came across smoothly! And thank you for commenting on Kibatsu's guitar parts here - the man is so talented and passionate, and I was sincerely blown away by how tight his articulations are, and how much character there is in his playing. The guitar melodies and harmonies are entirely his handiwork, and he was the one who suggested making the key change into a big moment, alongside many great ideas for my parts and the overall arrangement. It was truly an honor and a privilege to work alongside him on such a legendary piece! Thank you also for commenting on Kali's artwork specifically! I always love to have her read comments and it means a lot to both of us when people take the time to mention her designs in their comments, like you always do. I'm consistently surprised by her ability to learn and adapt new art styles and media avenue, and she's really been going all-out to learn new animation techniques, which we hope will add a fun new dynamic to most videos from here on out. I am a very lucky guy to have her support in not only asset creation, but video planning and feedback! Man, it is such high praise to hear that this video told a story through its music and visuals, as Kibatsu, Kali and I hoped it would. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and heartfelt comment - it's always a joy to read them, and it's extra-exciting to know that you were thinking of this remix even weeks after its release! Your care for this community is truly incredible. I'll see you soon, my friend! 💛
This is so goooodd!!! I love the percussion, especially the high triangle and castanets that fit together seamlessly with the more mellow drum machine beat to form a nice free-flowing atmosphere. Kudos to Kibatsu for the banger improvised Flamenco-style playing. That's hard to pull off, yet it's executed flawlessly. Your ability to create an all-encompassing atmosphere with every remix is astonishingly impressive. The animation and visuals get better every time, I can't believe it. Changing from day to night and the music reflecting the changes (with the vocal backing starting and such) is really creative and pretty! Autumn might already be near where I am, but listening to this gives gives such nice summer vibes. Great job my guy!
Levixu! Thanks so much, man! It's great to see you, and I really appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment at length. ^_^ It makes me happy to read all your specific remarks regarding the instrumentation - thank you for that! The percussive elements were a lot of fun to work on, and I was fortunate to find some samples that really fit the groove and style I had in mind. I feel like triangle is an underutilized instrument in general and I'm psyched that you enjoyed it in particular! 😁 And yeah, as much as I like writing drum parts, sometimes a top loop can really give the drums a boost, and I made pretty liberal use of them here - good catch on that! Man, you said it! Kibatsu's guitar arranging and performance really brought the remix to life and just glued everything together. As you mentioned, the quick, articulate Flamenco style really put his skills to the test, and you'd never know it was a challenge for him, with how effortlessly smooth it sounds. Thank you for commenting on his playing, and for your kind words regarding the overall atmosphere and mood - I really feel like everything came together tightly, and it means a lot to see you speak so highly of the music! And thank you very much for your specific mention of the visuals! I take a great deal of pride in the each visualizer, and this one was especially time-intensive, but a joy to work on. I have to thank Kali for constantly pushing her creative boundaries with new art styles and formats, and I loved working with the different GIFs she made for this video. Ah, and I'm delighted that you liked the transition from day to night, and thank you for mentioning that detail! I figured it would be a fun way to add a bit more progression to the video, and it allowed me to make use of some fun lighting effects. I'm stoked that you noticed how it was meant to correlate with the key change, as well - your attention to detail is superb, as ever! Again, thank you for taking the time to watch and write such a thoughtful comment. By the way, I have to mention that your Champion Iris remix is fantastic, and it's been a daily listen for me since it debuted. Until next time, my friend! 🌟
Ah, this is excellent! Exiting out of the darkness and into the main melody around 1:45 gave me goosebumps. Congrats to you both on a wonderful collaboration!
Thank you, dopamix! I really appreciate your taking an interest in this remix, and it makes me happy to know that you enjoyed it so much! Mad props go to Kibatsu for his incredible improvisation following the key change. The melody variations and various techniques he utilizes legit give me goosebumps, and I really wanted the video to reflect how atmospheric and beautiful it sounds with a sparkling night sky to match. I'm really glad you enjoyed that part in particular! Thanks again for the kind comment, and let me just reiterate that it's awesome to see you active in the community again! :D
I have no words for how amazing this is- Equalyze this collab is HEAVENLY! Your drums, and instrumentation to complement Kibatsu's guitar is immaculate! Everything is so PERFECT! You pick up ethnic instruments, genres so quickly I love it!!! The spanish instruments you use as percussion, the VOCAL WHAT?! bro where did you get that? ITS so WELL integrated into the track I love it so much!! AND THAT KEY CHANGE!! You left no stops untouched here! The filter, and the return to the track BROTHER! THIS IS AMAZING!! My fiance ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS TRACK AS WELL!! She and I could dance to it all day bro
Hanabi, thank you so much, man!! This comment brings me so much joy to read and respond to, and I'm thrilled beyond measure that both you and your fiance enjoyed the video so much (and she has superb taste in both video game series and characters, btw). 😊 To see the music be described as immaculate - heavenly, even - is seriously high praise, and I'm both humbled and grateful to be on the receiving end of it! It means a lot that you always take the time to comment on specific elements in the instrumentation, and I appreciate your mentioning the percussive and supporting instruments. Gerudo Valley has been on my "to-remix" list for years now, and in the months leading up to this project, some concrete ideas had started to emerge that I really wanted to implement, based around a guitar lead. For instance, I knew that certain auxiliary percussion, like claps, triangles, shakers and hand drums would be at the heart of the rhythms, as well as atmospheric elements like strings and warm pads. However, it was only until I started working with Kibatsu and really thinking about his style that the idea for integrating vocal chops came about. It's an element I've long wanted to use, but never knew how or when to, and seeing Kibatsu's adept use of vocaloid parts gave me the needed push to debut the vocal clips here on the channel. The guy really is a guru in various aspects of music - production, arrangement, composition, and of course performance! His reworking of the melody and harmony parts sincerely blew my mind, and I really can't get enough of the guitar parts here. And that improvised segment following the key change to the end? Too good!! 😭 Besides his own recorded parts, Kibatsu helped to develop the arrangement all throughout and constantly provided feedback to help the song reach its true potential. In Hyrule lore, it's well known that the Triforce of Power, Wisdom, and Courage are wielded by those chosen by the goddesses, but this man has the Triforce of Skill! 🎸 Thank you for the kind remarks regarding the visuals, and specifically in regards to Kali's artwork! I'm always excited to show her comments where people mention her art specifically, and yours are always a delight for both of us to read. She really ventured into new territory here, with several animated GIFs that were drawn frame by frame. I seriously don't know how she does it so well, and so consistently, but the animations of Link & Epona, the flags, the Poe, Navi, and Zelda really just came out beautifully and added a fresh new dynamic to the visuals. And thanks so much for mentioning how it was all put together, too - this was definitely a labor of love, and when the ZGEV reminded me of the 100-layer limit, I knew it was time to finish things up and work on refining the existing elements. 😅 The concept for the day-to-night transition during the key change was actually -stolen- borrowed from last year's August remix, Poke Pelago, but we knew from the start that there had to be both day and night, since Kali had ideas for cloudy and celestial designs. It seriously means so much that you always praise and highlight the efforts of everyone involved in each project, and with such authenticity and enthusiasm - testament to how special you are, and how much you care! And I am _really_ happy to see you remark on the different genres I've been trying to delve into in the past couple of years. More than anything, I want people to be able to enjoy a variety of styles on the channel, and honestly, it's just too much fun to try new approaches - it's ramped up the enjoyment of remixing even further, which I didn't think possible! Thank you again for taking the time to write such heartfelt and encouraging comments! I'm so glad that you two loved this remix! 💛
Thank you so much, Grief Burrito! I really appreciate your taking an interest in this channel following my collab with Vector U, and it means a ton that you took the time to listen and comment. I'm glad you liked the key change in particular - Kibatsu suggested making that into a big, climactic moment, and it really paid off, it seems! Thanks again for your comment! :D
FlameCheese, thanks so much, man! I was really hoping that you'd enjoy this one in particular, as I know you're a fan of the Zelda series' music. ^_^ It was a lot of fun - and a big learning experience - to work with Kibatsu's guitar playing, and he did such an amazing job with the articulations and different techniques - it really makes the melody come to life! I really enjoy music where acoustic and electronic elements are integrated (which I feel happens surprisingly often in VGM nowadays), so this production style really hit just right for me - I'm glad you felt it worked well! And thanks for mentioning the vocal clips, as well - I had always wanted to try using vocal chops in a remix, and Kibatsu had used vocaloid elements in his songs, so that inspired me to try something similar! I definitely want to utilize them in some future remixes, as well. Thank you again for always taking the time to listen and comment! 💛
THE PERCUSSION THE GUITAR THE KEY SHIFT THE VOX AND THE ANIMATION OH MY WORD amazing work, all of you!!! what a beautiful and unique rendition of a classic!!
G-Squared! Thanks so much for the enthusiastic and energetic comment! I'm delighted that you enjoyed this one, and I know that Zelda music in particular is among your favorite, so it's heartening to see such a reaction from you. :D I have to hand it to Kibatsu for doing a remarkable job with the guitar playing. His unique touch lends the melody such an authentic and stylish quality, and his arrangement with the lead and harmony parts sincerely blew me away - the man is wildly creative and has incredible musicality. The key change is something I thought would go well, and Kibatsu encouraged me to really go all-in with it and make it a big moment in the bridge segment, so credit to him as well for that! Thank you for your mention of the supporting elements! I had a lot of fun with the drums and percussion here, and it opened up opportunities for latin percussion that I don't typically use. And speaking of new elements, it was genuinely exciting to make use of the vocal clips here, and I had always been daunted by them for years, but now having used them, I definitely want to do the same in some future remixes! I really appreciate your taking the time to listen and write such encouraging feedback - it means a lot! Thanks again! 🌟
Hey there, Dolphinazee! Thanks so much for listening, and for the kind and enthusiastic feedback. It means a lot that you take the time to listen and comment, and I'm delighted that you enjoyed this one! ^_^
Heyy, Randy Becker! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out this video and comment on it - I really appreciate the kind words, and it means a lot that you went out of your way to share some encouragement. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the remix! ^_^
Thank you, Ryu!! It makes me really happy to know that you enjoyed this one, and I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment. ^_^ In truth, I worried that I might have gone a bit overboard with the instrumentation, but it's encouraging to hear that you felt the different layers came across well. Thanks again for the kind words! 🌟
Thank you, MidiMusic! 😄 I really appreciate the kind and encouraging feedback, and it means a great deal to see you say that there's been continual improvement - that's always been (and always will be) my goal! And thank you for mentioning Kibatsu's improvised segment after the key change - he did a truly fantastic job with the arrangement, and I just love how creative and heartfelt it sounds. It was so cool to see your Schala's Theme remix featured in Theølogy's latest episode of #InVGMWeTrust, by the way. Your active involvement in the community is something I really admire, and I'm grateful that you're always cheering me and everyone else on!
The guitar playing is perfection! I love the tone and natural reverb it has, as well as all the natural slides and pitch bends. Wow, that's some seriously good guitar playing! Everything sounds so atmospheric. The use of traditional acoustic instruments really give this an authentic desert feel. I hear many percussive sounds and other background instruments, and they really contribute to the overall composition. I really like that extra ambience. Once again, I'm amazed by the artwork and especially the animation! Wow, animating something to look smooth and realistic is no easy task, but it was accomplished superbly here! It's the perfect complement to the music. I'm impressed by the amount of work that goes into these videos, and I view it as a labor of love, motivated by the love for the game and music. Every remix video of yours is a treat to watch and listen to. 👍
Glitchman!! Thank you so much for the wonderfully detailed and enthusiastic feedback! Honestly, I can't help but smile widely when reading your comments (both on this channel and other people's), and it's a real privilege to be a recipient of them. I really appreciate your taking the time to write at length, especially considering how much of a commodity it's been for you (loved reading about your Community post about your recent pursuits, by the way)! I really appreciate your remarks about Kibatsu's playing in particular, and I agree that his technique is superb. Like you said, his ability to create a variety of articulations in all the right places really is superb. This song has some tricky runs and fast notes, too, but he handled them like a pro! It was such a privilege to work with him and integrate his guitar stems with the rest of the parts, and you put it perfectly, with your mention of how the acoustic playing gives the music both an atmospheric and desert-like feel. This is only the second time I've worked with recorded instrumentals, and it was a bit daunting, in truth - like with Danny K., I hoped that my production would hold up with the top-tier guitar performance! 😅 I'm grateful to hear that you felt the supporting elements (and percussive sounds in particular) helped lend a feeling of ambience, just as I had hoped - thanks for that feedback! Kali and I are very grateful for your commentary on the visuals, as well! You intimately understand what goes into an interactive visualizer, being adept at the task yourself. I'm amazed at the work that Kali put into just _one_ of these animations, let alone four of them; for instance, the Link and Epona GIF she created consists of 8 frames, and I don't know how visual artists are able to redraw a character in so many different poses, while maintaining continuity of movement and overall flow. It was really so impressive to watch her work and explain the process, and while I don't think I could ever do something like that, it gives me an even greater appreciation for all of the work that goes into graphic design in movies, cartoons, anime... but I digress! It is so gratifying to hear the term "labor of love" used to describe these projects, and they really are. Cliche thought it may sound, every remix video feels like a journey, since I typically spend anywhere from 50-70 hours (including audio and video) per project. They're a source of tremendous pride for me, and seeing you mention and relate to the passion that drives each one makes me feel realized, truly. Thank you again for your wonderful comment, and for always cheering on everyone involved in the process. Until next time, my friend! 💛
If you think for one second this isn't getting a spin on my next stream, you're totally wrong ;) Well done as always my friend. Your sound keeps getting better and better and Kali's art just keeps getting better and better! Love the key change too. Hell yeah LFG. The guitar work is goated too. Well done Kibatsu!
Dude, Theølogy, thank you so much, man!! It is such a genuine honor to be included in your streams, and your interest in using the music is seriously high praise in itself! On that note, I want to also thank you for including last month's remix in your previous #InVGMWeTrust stream - hearing it alongside other tracks from brilliant artists in the community warms my heart in a way that's hard to fully convey. I'm a bit behind in the comment realm, but now that this project has been completed, I'll be able to get caught up with some of the videos on your channel I've not yet had an opportunity to comment on! It is so encouraging to hear that you feel my sound has gotten better, and I am going to keep putting in maximum effort to work towards my goal of sustained, continual improvement. I've been really intentional about exploring new genres and sound styles (especially in the past year), and besides being a ton of fun, I think that it's helped me to keep stagnation at bay. Even if the sound quality doesn't actually improve from one remix to the next, I still want to at least try utilizing new techniques, instruments, and DAW features. If I can at least learn one new thing with each project, I consider that a level-up! :D And likewise, Kali is grateful for your remarks regarding her progress. :) I think she also looks at these visualizers as an opportunity to try new art styles and presentation modes, and, well... we both really just love doing this! Hehe, glad you liked that key change! One of these days, I'll learn how to write chord progressions that assist with key changes, but Kibatsu was all for it, and he encouraged me to make it a big moment, rather than try to be subtle with it. It was a great reminder of how sometimes just owning something can yield unexpectedly great results! And yes, Kibatsu is both an incredible musician and person - it was such a sincere pleasure to work with him, and I'm certain you'll see another joint project between us before long. I really hope to see collabs between Kibatsu and other folks in the VGM community, as well! Thanks again for your always-amazing comments, my friend! 💛
@@Equalyze OF COURSE! I think people sometimes in the creative industry gaslight themselves into thinking they aren't as good as they are... whether that's because "NUMBER DON'T GO UP" or because of some negative comment they got or some shit... but I'm here as a 17 year veteran of EDM whose songs have been played by 3 grammy nominated artists (this is not me bragging about myself, this is merely establishing my credibility to say the following:) to tell you that you are unreal and you MUST KEEP PRODUCING because you are GOOD AT IT! haha I will always do this for... not only the people i adore... but also the people who are TALENTED and SHOULD KEEP DOING COOL SHIT BECAUSE THEY ROCK (I can think of some others here too... namely Ryu Matrix/DJ Dark Prime/The Icarus Kid/Etc...). Don't worry though.. when I get a comment from you, it makes my day. When I don't, I still know you care. You are one of the best people in our community hands down and I am so glad we have crossed paths because you are a one of a kind human that people only encounter once in a while. Thank you for who you are! Kali too! Holy shit the art just keeps getting better and you are SO lucky to have someone who wants to do this shit alongside you. NEVER take that for granted. You two are gems of humans. Never change unless you are progressing and moving forward! :D
@@TheologyVGM Man, if you could see my face right now as I'm reading this... 🥲 It means _so_ much to know that you believe in my abilities and potential - thank you for that! I'm sincerely happy and grateful for any and all feedback; yet it hits different when an artist of your caliber and experience says something so heartfelt and affirming. That's the very thing that's motivated me to improve over the years I've been doing this, alongside a robust support system, the valuable resources that people have shared (not just knowledge, but samples, plugins, and presets), and a burning passion for VGM - and I wouldn't use such a trite phrase in any other context! Heh, I really can't help myself when it comes to commenting. I take a full "go hard or go home" approach, and I know that if I wrote something overly succinct, I'd lose sleep over it until I went back and edited it (likely after the person has read it) so I basically have one mode of commenting... still, keep an eye out for a random 🔥💪💯 comment one of these days - you'll never know when it's coming. 😆 In all seriousness, though, I'm glad that you know I always listen to everything you upload - remixes, episodic series, live shows... they're always a highlight in my day! And it warms my heart beyond measure to know that you feel I've made an impact in the community through character and caring. I feel like over the past few years there's been this gradual convergence of the VGM community, and so many people are going out of their way to lift each other up (e.g., Danny K's weekly Artist Spotlight segments, Hanabi's Community Post shout-outs, and your #InVGMWeTrust streams, to name a few). Thank _you_ for being a leader in this movement! Ah man, Kali and I appreciate that so much. I am beyond lucky to be married to someone who not only tolerates this niche interest, but is invested in it and is willing to put in hours of work each month to that end. Honestly, I really look at each remix as a collaboration with her, as well, because we plan the video together and she often provides feedback on the music, as well as ideas for sound styles and overall feel. Both of us will certainly keep at it for as long as we're able to make and share remix videos! 💛 Also! Heyy, CaptureReviews! So good to see you, man! ^_^ I really can't put into words how much it made my day to see this notification, and I can't thank you enough for listening and taking the time to comment. It seriously means so much to know that you still enjoy the music on this channel! I hope you've been well since last time, my friend. Thanks again! 😄
Hey, I don't know if you remember me but you commented on some of my videos around 3 years ago when I was like 13 haha, but I came back to your channel and this is incredible! So many layers to pay attention to and such a cool way of remixing the original. I especially love the guitar, it sounds so realistic although I'm guessing it's played through midi. Keep it up 😁
Heyy, Cycloze, it's been awhile! It really made my day to see the notification for your comment! ^_^ (really like the new profile picture, by the way) I hope you've been well since then? Thanks so much for taking the time to listen so intently and comment in detail - your feedback means a lot! I had the opportunity to work with an incredibly talented guitarist, Kibatsu Music, who recorded all of the melody and harmony parts for this remix and helped with the arrangement big-time. Kibatsu's playing has so much character and all the subtle touches he integrates into his performance like fret slides, taps on the guitar body, and various string articulations really makes the music come alive. I'm glad that the guitar had a distinctly realistic sound, because this time it actually was! And thank you for commenting on all the different layers in the supporting parts! I really appreciate when people comment on the density of the instrumentation, and I tried to include as many peripheral elements as I could to create an atmospheric and immersive sound. I hope you still have found time for, and enjoyment in, making music, as well! Thanks again, man! 😄
@@Equalyze No way I'm glad! Thank you haha your profile picture is sick also! I've been alright thanks I hope you're good too, it's great to see you have been consistent with videos. Of course! That's actually so cool, the guitar gave such a clean sound and I'm very impressed by the way you built such a big atmosphere around the guitar as well while sounding flawless. Kibatsu's playing is definitely a perfect match for your production! I've also been trying to learn guitar because of the spark it can give songs. No problem haha, I love music with a lot of ambient sounds to pay attention to, this remix gives you so many things you can focus on to constantly keep you interested. You both did great! Also, was that the Nintendo Switch sound effect at 1:06 haha? Sick detail! Thank you, I still enjoy music a lot and am studying it currently! I hope you can gain more recognition 😁
@@CyclozeMusic Thank you so much for your kind comment! That's awesome that you want to pick up guitar playing. It's a wonderful instrument that is also one of the best at letting you articulate your style and ideas. I think every producer should be able to play an instrument it really levels you up as a musician!
@@KibatsuMusic No problem your playing is amazing! Yeah guitar is one of my favourite sounding instruments for sure, I already play piano and drums but guitar just sticks out to me haha, keep at it 😁
Heyy, AceAnalysis! (that new name is so cool, by the way 😁) Thank you very much for listening, and for the kind words. I'm really glad that you enjoyed this one!
Heyy, AcousticHarmonia! Thank you for taking an interest in this remix, and for taking the time to comment! Kibatsu and I really went all-out here, so it means a lot to hear that you felt this remix hit hard. ^_^
Thank you, Mattip!! It's always such a pleasure to read your feedback, and it means a great deal to know that you enjoyed it! I really appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment - I'll see you soon, man! :D
@@Mattip_Music Yes, definitely! I have the remainder of this year planned out already, but it would be really fun to team up again in 2025, if you don't mind holding off until then. I'll be looking forward to it! 😁
@@isleling5191 Hey, {isleling}, it's good to see you! Thank you for checking out this remix and taking the time to comment. 🙂 I'm delighted to hear that you felt the music was atmospheric, since that was one of the main goals here. Thanks again for the kind words!
As always your collabs always rock this is more of my jam I love the fast pace Spanish flamenco sort of style something I haven’t dibbled and dabbled with in a while! You should honestly make a download link man need to listen to this on the go I love the Arabic inspired vocals aswell I’m not sure on the time stamp I am watching this on UA-cam mobile 😭. Honestly my only critique is it’s short (I’m joking) it’s a perfect length and really encapsulates the viewer wanting to listen to more that’s just how good you guys are at the remixing stuff! Can’t wait till next months remix! I really love the Zelda remixes from you and really makes me appreciate the sound track more I would love to hear a super Mario Game over remix from you the most popular 8 second melody would really suit your style alas whatever remix you make next I’ll be there keep up the good work really love ur upgraded sound quality it was great to begin with but this is getting next level can’t wait to see ur channel evolve further
Ah man, thanks so much, Poke&Remix! It means a lot to hear that you always enjoy the collaborative remixes on this channel, and I appreciate the feedback in that regard. I feel like the musical collaboration really unlocks new sound potential and brings out the best of both worlds. I'm psyched that you liked Kibatsu's playing style here, and likewise, I think it just sounds so cool, and that it has an inherent "mysterious desert" sort of feel. It really was a dream come true to have the opportunity to work with such a talented guitarist, especially for a song as iconic as this one. And thank you for mentioning the vocal clips specifically - those are the elements I'm the most proud of, and it was so much fun to work with them. Your music definitely came to mind several times throughout the process, as the inclusion of ambient, chant-like vocals has become a hallmark of your style, I feel. I downloaded all of the vocal clips from Splice, and thankfully the search filters helped me to narrow the selection down to a few hundred within the key and tempo range I was looking for. I'm honestly super excited to use these kinds of vocal clips in another remix! Wow, what a compliment, to hear that you feel the song warrants additional length - thank you! I always try to keep each remix within the 2:00 - 2:30 range to avoid having the music wear out its welcome (and that length is all I can manage, with the time I have available each month). And it makes me really happy to know that you look forward to each new remix - and the same to you! :D Thank you for the suggestion regarding the Game Over theme from Super Mario World - that one has definitely made a name for itself, and it' wild how people have turned a simple jingle into full-blown remixes that are minutes long! I honestly don't think I could squeeze that much variety out of the track, but I definitely think it would make for a great inclusion in a remix of one of SMW's other themes. Like you, I really enjoy referencing other tracks within remixes, and I could see the Game Over theme making for a superb interlude or ending - I will definitely keep this in mind! It's awesome to hear that you'd be interested in downloading this track! I'll include the download link for the .wav file at the end of this comment (and hopefully UA-cam doesn't delete this reply). Thanks again for the detailed and enthusiastic feedback, my friend! 🙂 EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to actually include the link! 😅 drive.google.com/file/d/1wNfRaJ2YQ3kq3ktGh3xbLg2sqL6BE5jD/view?usp=sharing

Ah man, that means a great deal - thank you!! I'm delighted to see such enthusiastic feedback on Kibatsu's and my rendition of this fan-favorite theme. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, as always, TheCreepyPro! :D
BRO YOU ARE AN IMMACULATE GUITARIST!
@@HANABI_Music I couldn't agree more! Thanks so much, Hanabi!! 💛
@@HANABI_Musicomg thank you so much ❤❤ that means so much to hear that!!
I'm really happy to see your enthusiastic praise of Kibatsu, and I couldn't agree more - absolutely massive props to him for his wonderful guitar playing here.

"Hey how much can I get for these red flags I found?" 🚩
Thank you so much for the amazing words about the guitar part!
It seriously means the world that you take the time to watch and listen with such intent, and that you comment on all aspects of the video.
Wow, what a compliment, to hear that this remix holds up to the original, and even surpasses it in some regards - thank you for that!
You and Kali have kept an insane level of quality going for the visuals!
It makes me happy to read all your specific remarks regarding the instrumentation - thank you for that!
Thank you for the kind remarks regarding the visuals, and specifically in regards to Kali's artwork!
Woaaaah that key change though
Thank you so much, Grief Burrito! I really appreciate your taking an interest in this channel following my collab with Vector U, and it means a ton that you took the time to listen and comment.
I'm glad you liked the key change in particular - Kibatsu suggested making that into a big, climactic moment, and it really paid off, it seems! Thanks again for your comment! :D
This is amazing the mix of acoustic and electronic works really well here. The vocals parts are a nice touch also ^^
FlameCheese, thanks so much, man! I was really hoping that you'd enjoy this one in particular, as I know you're a fan of the Zelda series' music. ^_^
It was a lot of fun - and a big learning experience - to work with Kibatsu's guitar playing, and he did such an amazing job with the articulations and different techniques - it really makes the melody come to life!
THE PERCUSSION
THE GUITAR
THE KEY SHIFT
THE VOX
AND THE ANIMATION OH MY WORD
amazing work, all of you!!! what a beautiful and unique rendition of a classic!!
G-Squared! Thanks so much for the enthusiastic and energetic comment! I'm delighted that you enjoyed this one, and I know that Zelda music in particular is among your favorite, so it's heartening to see such a reaction from you. :D
I have to hand it to Kibatsu for doing a remarkable job with the guitar playing.
My reaction exactly!
dude this is ridiculously clean. the percussion is just perfection, I LOVE IT, plus bonus points for switch sound effect!!
Omg this sounds so good ❤
Hey there, Dolphinazee! Thanks so much for listening, and for the kind and enthusiastic feedback. It means a lot that you take the time to listen and comment, and I'm delighted that you enjoyed this one! ^_^
Saw a comment from Equalyze on another remix and had to check out their work. So glad I did, this is phenomenal!
Heyy, Randy Becker! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out this video and comment on it - I really appreciate the kind words, and it means a lot that you went out of your way to share some encouragement. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the remix! ^_^
Love hearing all the layers of instruments here! Wonderful!
Great remix ! You're getting better and better. Love the variation part at 1:45 ! 👍
If you think for one second this isn't getting a spin on my next stream, you're totally wrong ;)
Well done as always my friend.
And likewise, Kali is grateful for your remarks regarding her progress.
Oh, and keep up the encouraging messages in your videos. I cannot, and certainly do not want to do it alone!

An absolute JAM! Bravo my good friend, bravo.
@@KibatsuMusic No problem your playing is amazing! Yeah guitar is one of my favourite sounding instruments for sure, I already play piano and drums but guitar just sticks out to me haha, keep at it 😁
Great remix as always
Heyy, AceAnalysis! (that new name is so cool, by the way 😁) Thank you very much for listening, and for the kind words. I'm really glad that you enjoyed this one!

Heyy, AcousticHarmonia! Thank you for taking an interest in this remix, and for taking the time to comment! Kibatsu and I really went all-out here, so it means a lot to hear that you felt this remix hit hard. ^_^

I really love the Zelda remixes from you and really makes me appreciate the sound track more
I would love to hear a super Mario Game over remix from you the most popular 8 second melody would really suit your style alas whatever remix you make next I’ll be there keep up the good work really love ur upgraded sound quality it was great to begin with but this is getting next level can’t wait to see ur channel evolve further
Thank you for the suggestion regarding the Game Over theme from Super Mario World - that one has definitely made a name for itself, and it' wild how people have turned a simple jingle into full-blown remixes that are minutes long!

I definitely have no shortage of motivation or enthusiasm, and your feedback has been instrumental for me in my endeavor to improve - I'll keep at it, for sure! Thank you again!! :D
EDIT: Sorry, I meant to include the link for the .wav file of this track in my response. Thanks for your interest in that! drive.google.com/file/d/1wNfRaJ2YQ3kq3ktGh3xbLg2sqL6BE5jD/view?usp=sharing

Ah man, that means a great deal - thank you!! I'm delighted to see such enthusiastic feedback on Kibatsu's and my rendition of this fan-favorite theme. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, as always, TheCreepyPro! :D
